The Chicago White Sox (30-39) are on the road to face the Los Angeles Dodgers (38-30) at Dodger Stadium on Thursday with the three-game Interleague series in the balance.
The White Sox evened up the series 1-1 after winning 8-4 on Wednesday. Reliever Reynaldo Lopez threw one scoreless inning to get the win.
Jake Burger was 2 for 5 with two home runs and three RBIs in the win. Luis Robert Jr. added a home run and a double. He scored two runs. David Peralta went 1 for 3 with one run for the Dodgers.
ON THE MOUND
Dylan Cease (3-3, 4.38 ERA) is in line to get the start for Chicago. The RHP allowed one run over six innings in his last start, a 2-1 road win over the Marlins on Friday. He scattered four hits while striking out seven and walking two in the no-decision.
Cease is making his first appearance against the Dodgers this season. Cease made one start against the Dodgers in 2022, an 11-9 home loss on June 9.
He surrendered six runs on six hits over 4.2 innings, striking out eight and walking three. Right-hander Michael Grove (0-2, 8.28 ERA) gets the start for Los Angeles. It’s his first appearance of the season against the White Sox.
In his last appearance on Friday, Grove came on in relief on the road against the Phillies. He threw four innings and gave up four runs on seven hits, striking out two and walking one in the 5-4 loss.
