Houston Astros @ Baltimore Orioles – 7:05PM ET

The Defending World Series champions are getting hot at the right time and they will be looking to pick up another big victory against the Baltimore Orioles in the second game of the series on Wednesday night. They come into this game only a handful of games out of first place in the American League west division, and they will be looking to pick up a victory as they continue to gain ground on the Texas Rangers. The Houston Astros got the job done in the opening game of the series against the Baltimore Orioles as they picked up a close one run victory in a high scoring game on Tuesday night. They will be looking to replicate that performance here on Wednesday to clinch this series before heading into Thursday’s finale.

Baltimore will be looking to bounce back after they lost the opening game of the series to the Houston Astros on Tuesday night.  It was a high scoring game but unfortunately Baltimore couldn’t contain Houston’s lineup as they put up six runs, but Houston got the best of them with seven runs on the night. Now the Orioles will be looking to bounce back here in game number two as they look to even up this series at home. They are very capable of doing so as well as they have shown great resilience throughout the season coming off of losses. That is exactly what I expect as I have the Orioles grabbing the victory over the Houston Astros here on Wednesday night to even up this series.

Atlanta Braves @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 7:05PM ET

The Atlanta Braves picked up the victory in the second game of this series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. They will be looking to replicate that performance and pick up their second victory of the series over Pittsburgh to officially clinch a split of the series before heading into Thursdays finale. Atlanta has been one of the best teams in all of baseball this season, and they will look to keep the momentum rolling in the follow up game of this series against Pittsburgh, as they look to extend their lead in the National League East division with another victory. It was a good way for Atlanta to bounce back after losing the series opener on Monday night and they have plenty of momentum coming into game three here on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh will be looking to bounce back after losing game number two of this series on Tuesday to pick up their second victory of the series on Wednesday night. Both of the games in the series thus far have been high scoring and competitive, and Pittsburgh has booked solid, and both of them as well. They will be hoping they can keep it up in the third game of the series as they look to clinch at least a split of this four-game series against the Atlanta Braves. With Max Fried getting the start for the Atlanta Braves it gives Atlanta an advantage in the pitching matchup in this game and I expect them to exploit that advantage and pick up a victory over Pittsburgh here on Wednesday night to pick up their second win of the series.

Chicago Cubs @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET

The Chicago Cubs have been playing solid baseball lately, and they will look to keep it rolling in this game against the New York Mets on Wednesday night. They have fought their way all the way up to 2nd place in the National League Central division, and they are only a handful of games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for first place at the moment. After getting blown out by the New York Mets in the opening game of the series on Monday night, they bounced back in a big way with a must win game on Tuesday. Now they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here in the finale as they look to take two out of three games from the Mets on the road. 

The New York Mets have been struggling as of late, but they did pick up a solid victory in the opening game of the series against the Chicago Cubs. However, unfortunately for the New York Mets, they were unable to keep the momentum rolling as they failed to pick up a second consecutive victory over Chicago on Tuesday. Now they will be looking to bounce back in Wednesday’s finale as they look to take two out of three games from Chicago and get their season slightly back on track. Unfortunately for the New York Mets, I don’t see that happening as I have the Chicago Cubs picking up the victory to take two out of three games on the road at Citi Field in Queens. 

New York Yankees @ Chicago White Sox – 8:10PM ET

The New York Yankees still have a lot of work to do but they will be looking to fight their way back into playoff contention in the American League East division and it starts with getting a quality victory over the Chicago White Sox in this game on Wednesday night. After a rough performance to open up the series on Monday, the New York Yankees bounced back in a big way, and picked up a blowout victory on Tuesday to even up the series before heading into the finale here on Wednesday night. Now they will be looking to pick up another victory on the road and take two out of three games from the Chicago White Sox as they look to gain ground in the American League wild-card race with the final two months of the season quickly coming and going. 

The Chicago White Sox will be looking to finish off the New York Yankees here on Wednesday night at home as they look to take two out of three games from New York to potentially spoil their playoff hopes, as they continue to fall farther and farther out of the race in the American League. Chicago doesn’t have much left to play for this season as they had plenty of expectations coming into the year but I haven’t quite lived up to those expectations up until this point of the season. I don’t look for them to grab another victory over New York as I think a lot of their momentum was taken away by their blowout loss on Tuesday night. As I expect the Yankees to grab the victory here in this one to wrap up this series.

San Diego Padres @ Seattle Mariners – 9:40PM ET

The San Diego Padres will be looking to pick up a huge victory in the second game of this series against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday night. San Diego and Seattle have had similar trajectories this season as both of them were expected to be playoff contenders and both of them have been incredibly underwhelming this year. It is worse in San Diego’s case as they just have been downright awful and they are currently under .500 and in real danger of missing out on the postseason. They will be looking to secure a much-needed victory in the middle game of this three-game interleague series as they look to climb their way back up the standings in the National League West division of the National League wildcard race.

The Seattle Mariners come into the second game of the series as one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball right now. They have picked up eight victories in their last 10 games on the season and they will be looking to continue their climb up the American League wild card standings. As they look to grab one of the three wild card spots and make their second consecutive playoff appearance. Seattle has been flying under the radar throughout the year, and they are in a better position than San Diego despite both of them being underwhelming this season. As the Mariners come into this game above .500 and coming into this series they were on a five game winning streak. I expect him to grab a victory in the second game of the series against San Diego as well.
