New York Mets @ St.Louis Cardinals – 1:15PM ET

The New York Mets and St.Louis Cardinals will be playing the third game of their three game series in this one. In game number one it was the Mets who picked up the victory and in game number two the Mets cliched at least a share of the series.

Tony Battalio

Carlos Carrasco takes the mound for the New York Mets in this one. He is having a decent season so far as he comes into this one with a record of 1-0 on the year in three total appearances. He is coming into this start with a 1.47 Earned Run Average as well. He has logged 18 and a third innings and 20 strikeouts. The Mets have gotten off to a fast start this season they come into this game with a record of 14-5 through their first 18 games of the season. They got the win over St.Louis in game two to clinch at least a share of the series.

Steven Matz takes the bump in the third and final game of this series for the St.Louis Cardinals. He comes into this start with a record of 2-1 in his first three starts of the season. He currently has a 5.27 Earned Run Average and has logged 13 and two thirds innings pitched along with 17 strikeouts. They have lost the first two games of this series and now they will be looking to bounce back and keep the possibility of a share alive for this weekday series with the New York Mets. However, I don’t see it happening as I have the Mets getting the win in this one.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-122)

Jeffery Thomas

This will be Game 2 of this three-game series between two of the best teams in the National League to start the new season. Well for the Mets, I’d say they are one of the best teams in all of baseball and the scary part is that they are still without arguably the best pitcher in all of baseball, Jacob deGrom. Once he is able to return from injury the sky’s the limit for a Mets team entered Tuesday’s action 7th in the league in runs scored a game (4.78). The Cardinals ranked 13th in that same stat but don’t boast nearly the same scary pitching staff and entered Tuesday losers of their last two contests.

I can’t bet against the Mets right now and especially with the major pitching advantage they will have on Wednesday. Carlos Carrasco has started off the year on fire, only allowing 3 earned runs in over 17 innings. Steven Matz of the Cardinals got shelled his first start for 7 earned runs but has been solid in his next two, only allowing one run. Those starts were against the Pirates and Brewers though, two teams that aren’t too explosive offensively. This will be a whole new challenge for Matz and the Cardinals and I don’t see them keeping pace.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-122)

Marko Nadin

The St.Louis Cardinals are having a good start of the season as they are second in the NL Central with a 9-7 record. They have lost the last three games including the previous two of the series against the New York Mets. The Cardinals are ranked 18th in the league scoring just under 4 runs per game and are fifth allowing only 3.15 runs per game. They will start Steven Matz tonight who is 2-1 so far in the season with a 5.27 ERA. The Cardinals have won 22 of the last 30 games against a right-handed starter.

The New York Mets are on top of the NL East with a fantastic 14-5 record. They have won every series so far in the season and are currently on a three-games winning streak. The Mets are 7th in the league scoring 4.71 runs per game and third allowing only 2.70 runs per game. The Mets will start Carlos Carrasco who is 1-0 for the season with a 1.47 ERA. The Mets have won 5 of the last 6 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (+104)

Kansas City Royals @ Chicago White Sox – 2:10PM ET

The Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox will be playing the second game of their three game series in this one. In game number one it was the Royals who picked up the victory and now they will be looking to clinch the series in this game.

Tony Battalio

Zack Greinke takes the mound for the Royals in this one against the White Sox. This will be his fourth start of the season and weirdly enough all four of them will come against the American League Central. As he has now faced every team in the Central division to start the season. He comes into this one with a record of 0-1 in three starts and has a 2.25 Earned Run Average. He has logged 16 innings pitched and totaled only 2 strikeouts. The Royals have certainly had an up and down year but they got a victory to open this series against Chicago on Tuesday.

Starting the middle game of this series against the Royals will be Dylan Cease. He is 2-1 on the season with a 3.38 Earned Run Average. He has racked up 16 innings and 19 strikeouts through his first three appearances of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. The Chicago White Sox are currently on a lengthy losing streak as they are no longer looking like the favorites in the American League Central division. As for the result of this one I am going with the Chicago White Sox to break their losing streak and get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (-178)

Jeffery Thomas

The Kansas City Royals opened up the series with their division rival White Sox by getting a 6-0 shutout victory. Daniel Lynch pitched 6 scoreless innings while striking out seven to lead the way and move his record to 2-1 on the season. This was the first time Chicago has been shut out this season but the loss was the 8th straight for them. Wednesday and Thursday if they do not get a win and are swept, that will be the third straight sweep handed to the White Sox, all 3 by division rivals.

The White Sox came into this season with high expectations and early on it’s not looking good for them but there’s still plenty of time to turn things around. They are due for a big day at the plate but that’s not very likely with Zack Greinke on the mound for Kansas City. Dylan Cease is getting the start for Chicago though, and he usually has great outings against KC. His ERA against them last season was 1.98 and I think he will be the guy to bring an end to this lengthy losing streak.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (-178)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago White Sox are fourth in the AL Central with a 6-10 record. They started pretty well but have lost the last 8 games which is currently the longest losing streak in the league. The last time the White Sox won was on April 15th and they have been swept in the series against Minnesota and Cleveland since then. The White Sox are ranked 27th in the league scoring 3.24 runs per game and 25th in the league allowing 4.79 runs per game. Chicago will start Dylan Cease tonight who is 2–1 for the season with a 3.38 ERA.

The Kansas City Royals are second in the AL Central but have a negative record of 6 wins and 9 losses. They are coming off a 6-0 win over the White Sox. The Royals are ranked 26th in the league scoring 3.27 runs per game and 22nd allowing 4.47 runs per game. Kansas City will start Zack Greinke who is 0-1 for the season with a 2.25 ERA. The Royals have lost 5 of the last 6 road games and 7 of the last 10 second games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Kansas City Royals (+150)

Milwaukee Brewers @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 6:35PM ET

The Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing the second game of their three game series in this one. In game number one it was the Brewers who picked up the victory and now they will be looking to clinch the series in this game.

Tony Battalio

On the hill for the Milwaukee Brewers in this one will be Aaron Ashby. He is having a rough start to his season as he comes into this one with an 0-2 record through their four appearances. He currently has a 3.18 Earned Run Average and has logged 11 and a third innings with 13 strikeouts. They opened this series on Tuesday night with a 12-8 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates and they will be looking to clinch the series in this second game. They come into this one with a record of 11-7 through their first 18 games of the season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates aren’t expected to be very competitive this season, much like most seasons actually they are usually predicted to finish towards the bottom of the league. Starting for them in this one will be Bryse Wilson. He comes into this one with a record of 0-0 on the year and has a 6.35 Earned Run Average. He has logged only 11 and a third innings and six strikeouts in three appearances. As for the result of this one I have Milwaukee getting the win and locking up the series and setting up the opportunity for a sweep on Thursday.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (-184)

Jeffery Thomas

The Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates will square off at PNC Park for Game 2 of their three-game set. Tuesday’s series opener was a very entertaining game, with the Brewers coming away with the road victory 12-8. It was Milwaukee’s first game scoring over 6 runs all season and that was thanks in large part to the contributions of Willy Adames. Adames had a career-high 7 RBIs and hit two home runs for the first multi-homer game of his career.

Aaron Ashby will get the start on Wednesday for the Brewers and brings in an 0-2 record with 3.18 ERA. Three of his four appearances this year have been in relief duties so he’s getting a bit of a role change here and I think it will suit him well in this matchup. Before the 8 runs on Tuesday, Pittsburgh was only averaging 2.4 runs a game in their previous seven games so this offense isn’t one to be feared. Milwaukee is now 4-0 against the Pirates in the early going and will make it 5-0 after this one.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (-184)

Marko Nadin

The Pittsburgh Pirates are third in the NL Central with a 8-9 record. They came into the series against Milwaukee after a 3-1 series win over the Chicago Cubs but lost the first game 12-8 to the Brewers. The Pirates are 19th in the league with 3.98 runs per game and 30th allowing 5.94 runs per game. They will start Bryce WIlson tonight who has a 6.35 ERA for the season. The Pirates have won 4 of the last 6 home games and 6 of the last 8 second games of a series.

The Milwaukee Brewers are on top of NL Central with a 11-7 record. They have won 3 of the last 4 games losing only to the San Francisco Giants in that span. The Brewers are 20th in the league with 3.87 runs per game and 23rs with 0.80 home runs per game. They will start Aaron Ashby who is 0-2 for the season with a 3.18 ERA. The Brewers have won 10 of the last 12 games played on Wednesday and 28 of the last 41 road games as favorites.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Milwaukee Brewers (-184)

Detroit Tigers @ Minnesota Twins – 7:40PM ET

The Detroit Tigers and Minnesota Twins will be playing the second game of their three game series in this one. In game number one it was the Twins who picked up the victory and now they will be looking to clinch the series in this game.

Tony Battalio

Taking the mound for the Detroit Tigers in this one will be Michael Pineda. He comes into this matchup with a record of 1-0 on the season after only a single appearance. He has logged five innings and two strikeouts in his start against his former team the New York Yankees. The Tigers are coming into this game after grabbing the loss from the jaws of victory sgtee a horrible ending in game one against the Minnesota Twins.

The Minnesota Twins grabbed a strange walk-off winner on Tuesday night after a misplayed fly ball and a base running error that led to a bad throw. Somehow it miraculously gave them the win after being down 1 in the bottom of the ninth. Taking the ball for the Twins in this one will be Joe Ryan who is 2-1 on the season with a 1.69 Earned Run Average. He has logged 16 full innings and 16 strikeouts in three appearances this season. As for the result of this one I am going with the Minnesota Twins to get the victory and lock up the series.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-190)

Jeffery Thomas

The Detroit Tigers suffered another loss on Tuesday, this time to the Minnesota Twins in walk-off fashion. It’s the third straight loss for the Tigers after winning 13-0 against the Rockies on Saturday. Javier Baez drove in 4 runs in two at-bats when Detroit got down 3-0 to give them the lead, but closer Gregory Soto could not close the deal in the 9th inning and was hit with the blown save. Miguel Sano was the one who hit the walk-off single in the 9th to give the Minnesota Twins the 5-4 victory and push their record to 9-8.

The Twins have found a way to turn things around in the early going after a slow start and have now won five straight games. It’s a tale of two teams heading in opposite directions as the Tigers just keep finding ways to lose games even when they were in control and a team like that just can’t be trusted. Until they are able to show some consistent results I can’t back Detroit and I will roll with the Twins to keep their winning ways going on Wednesday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-190)

Marko Nadin

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with a 9-8 record. The Twins have won the last five games including a sweep over the Chicago White Sox and a 5-4 win in the first game over the Tigers. Minnesota is ranked sixth in the league allowing only 3.6 runs per game and is 21st with 3.78 scored runs per game. The Twins will start Joe Ryan who is 2-1 for the season with a 1.69 ERA. Minnesota has won 6 of the last 8 Wednesday games and 5 of the last 7 games played at home.

The Detroit Tigers are fourth in the AL Central with a 6-10 record. They have lost the last three games but have not allowed any runs in their last two wins. The Tigers are ranked 24th in the league scoring 3.60 runs per game and are 13th in the league with 3.98 runs per game. The Tigers will start Michael Pineda who is 1-0 so far in the season. Detroit has won 16 of the last 23 games played on Wednesday but have lost 7 of the last 9 games as underdogs.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-190)

Houston Astros @ Texas Rangers – 8:05PM ET

The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers will be playing the third game of their four game series in this one. In game number one it was the Rangers who picked up the victory. In game two it was the Astros who bounced back with a win.

Tony Battalio

Taking the ball for the Houston Astros in this one will be Cristian Javier. He is 0-0 on the season with a 0.00 Earned Run Average and this will be his fourth appearance of the season. This will be his first start of the season for the Houston Astros. The Astros scored the majority of their runs early on in the game and rode their arms to the finish line as they were up 5-1 late in the game. Now they will be looking to take a 2-1 lead in this series.

The Texas Rangers have an incredibly slow start to the season. They now come into this game with a record of 6-11 through their first 17 games of the season. Texas is not looking good for the amount of money they sent over the course of the off-season. While it is still earlier they can’t really afford to fall behind in a division that features the Astros and Mariners. Taking the ball for them in this one will be Martin Perez who is 0-2 on the season with a 3.86 Earned Run Average. As for the result of this one I’m taking the Houston Astros to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-130)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers will play Game 3 of their series on Wednesday after splitting the first two contests. The Rangers opened up the series with a 6-2 win and the Astros came back on Monday with a 5-1 victory. It was the first win of the season for Jake Odorizzi who hadn’t gotten out of the 5th inning in any of his previous three starts this season. He was able to go a full six innings, only allowing 1 hit on Tuesday and got more than enough run support from his guys at the plate. It’s been a slow start for the Astros, who sit at 8-9 now but a strong end to this series would bring them some confidence.

These teams have been trading wins in the first two games and it’s possible we see that yet again. Both teams are throwing out solid pitching as Cristian Javier is taking the mound for the Astros and hasn’t allowed a run all season. It is a new role for him as a starter though, but he should settle in well. Texas is rolling with Glenn Otto who has 1 start and got the win pitching 5 innings of 1 run ball. I think both guys continue their good pitching form and we get a low-scoring affair. Give me the under in this spot.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Under total runs 8.5 (-115)

Marko Nadin

The Texas Rangers are at the bottom of the AL West with a 6-11 record. They have won 4 of the last 6 games and are currently at one game apiece in the series against the Astros. Texas is ranked 8th in the league scoring 4.71 runs per game and 26th allowing 5.13 runs per game. They will start Glenn Otto who is 1-0 for the season with a 1.80 ERA. Texas has won 5 of the last 6 games as underdog but have lost 20 of the last 28 third games of a series.

The Houston Astros are fourth in the AL West with a 8-9 record. They have won 2 of the last 3 games and are coming off a 5-1 win over the Texas Rangers. The Astros are fifth in the league with 1.14 home runs per game and are 22th with 3.65 scored runs per game. Houston will start Cristian Javier tonight who will have his first start of the season. The Astros have won 9 of the last 13 games as favorites and 13 of the last 19 games against teams with a winning record under 40%.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-130)
