Los Angeles Angels @ Tampa Bay Rays – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a rough season for the Los Angeles Angels after they came into the year with so much potential. They were expected to be a contending team in the American League West division, or grab a spot in the American League wildcard race by the regular season finale. However, it is but anything but that as they have dealt with injuries and rough play throughout the season, and they have been without Shohei Ohtani for the last several weeks. It is very likely that he could leave the team over the off-season free agency, which could signal the beginning of a rebuilding era for the Los Angeles Angels as well. Regardless of that, they will be looking to build some momentum up throughout the remainder of the season before heading into the offseason and next year.

The Tampa Bay Rays will be looking to have a solid finish to the regular season after their historic start to the season several months ago that left them as the only undefeated team nearly three weeks into the regular season. Every game from here on out for the Tampa Bay Rays will be crucial as they look to gain ground on the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East division as well as continue to extend their lead in the American League wildcard race. Tampa Bay comes into this game trailing the Baltimore Orioles by two games and they will be looking to gain ground here on Tuesday. That is exactly what I expect as I have Tampa Bay picking up the victory here in this one.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

TB Rays -1.5 (+100)

Minnesota Twins @ Cincinnati Reds – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins are having a solid season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Tuesday night against the Cincinnati Reds. They will be looking to bounce back after losing the opening game of the series against Cincinnati, but they did get help after Cleveland blew a massive lead to Kansas City on Monday night, which put Minnesota one game closer to clinching the American League Central division. Minnesota will be looking to bounce back in the second game of this three game interleague series here on Tuesday night and even up the series before heading into Wednesday’s finale with a comfortable victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

The Cincinnati Reds picked up a solid victory in the opening game of the series on Monday night, and they will be looking to replicate that performance here on Tuesday and officially clinch the series before heading into Wednesday’s finale. Cincinnati is still making a late season push for one of the three wild card spots in the National League and they will need to continue winning games like this if they want to do so. Coming into this game the Cincinnati Reds have a record of 79-73 through their first 152 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. I expect them to pick up a second consecutive victory over Minnesota in this game.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cincinnati Reds (+120)

New York Mets @ Miami Marlins – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been an awful season for the New York Mets after they came into the year with one of the highest payroll in all of Major League Baseball. The production they have gotten on the field has not matched the amount of money they have paid their superstars off of the field this season. They traded away both Justin Verlander and Max Scherzer at the trade deadline, and made it known that they were closing the competitive window for the franchise for the time being. They still have a plethora of talent in their lineup like Pete Alonso, and Francisco Lindor which should give them something to build towards next season, but at the moment, they will be looking to spoil the Miami Marlins playoff hopes.

It has been an up-and-down season for the Miami Marlins and they will be looking to finish the regular season strong with some quality performances down the stretch. If not for the massive losing streak coming out of the All-Star break, they likely would’ve clinched a spot in the National League wildcard by now. However, there is still some work to do for Miami if they wanna make a postseason appearance this season. They will be looking to pick up a crucial victory here on Tuesday night against the New York Mets at home and that is exactly what I expect as I look for the Miami Marlins to grab the victory here in this one.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Miami Marlins (-165)

Cleveland Guardians @ Kansas City Royals – 7:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Cleveland Guardians had a successful weekend against the Texas Rangers, and it looked as if they were coasting into a victory in the opening game of the series against the Kansas City Royals on Monday afternoon as well. However, once again, the Cleveland Guardians bullpen let them down as they allowed the Kansas City Royals the score for runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Cleveland to open up the series on Monday. This has been a problem for Cleveland throughout the season and it is the reason why they are going to miss the postseason as well as their bullpen has been awful at blowing late leads. They will be looking to bounce back with a victory on Tuesday to even up the series.

It has been an awful season for the Kansas City Royals this year as they are one of the few baseball teams to lose over 100 games on the season. Kansas City got some much-needed momentum with their series opening come from behind victory over Cleveland on Monday night and they will be looking to replicate that performance on Tuesday to take their second consecutive game over the Cleveland Guardians in this series at home. Unfortunately for Kansas City, Cleveland has been solid at bouncing back from losses this season so I don’t see that happening as I have the Guardians grabbing the victory here in this one.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians (-165)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Chicago Cubs – 7:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The first month of the season was incredible for Pittsburgh as they picked up 22 victories in their first 30 games of the year and they had the best record in the National League. However, things would not last for Pittsburgh as they would quickly slide back down the standings, and they now find themselves out of the postseason race coming into the final couple weeks of the season. Coming into this game the Pittsburgh Pirates have a record of 70-80 through their first 150 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. With a strong finish to the regular season, they could still pull out a winning record in the year, but they would have to finish the year with a record of 12-0.

The Chicago Cubs had a slow start to the season, but they picked it up as the year went on and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Tuesday night at home against Pittsburgh. They are in the middle of the National League wildcard race and they will be looking to clinch themselves one of the top three wildcard spots in the National League with a strong finish to the regular season. Coming into this game the Chicago Cubs have a record of 78-72 through their first 150 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. I expect them to pick up another victory here on Tuesday night..
