New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox – 1:35PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a dreadful season for the New York Yankees, and they will be looking to have some successful performances in this huge series to keep their faint playoff hopes alive heading into the second week of September. This game on Tuesday afternoon will serve as the opening game of a doubleheader after the original. First game of the series on Monday night was postponed due to inclement weather. The New York Yankees come into the opening game of this series with a record of 71-72 and they will be looking to even up their record with another victory here on Tuesday afternoon over the Boston Red Sox to open up this doubleheader.

The Boston Red Sox have been having a solid season, but they have not done enough to make a postseason appearance, despite having a winning record at the moment. Boston comes into this game three games above .500 at the moment, as they have 73 victories, through the first 143 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They will be looking to pick up yet another victory in the opening game of the series in the opening game of the doubleheader here on Tuesday afternoon against the Yankees, as they look to continue their late season playoff push. That is exactly what I expect as I have the Boston Red Sox grabbing the victory here in this one.

St.Louis Cardinals @ Baltimore Orioles – 6:35PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a very rough year for the St. Louis Cardinals as they came into the season with plenty of expectations, but they have been very underwhelming this season. They are among some of the worst teams in all of baseball this season, and they currently sit in last place in the National League Central division, which is arguably the second worst division in all of Major League Baseball this year. St. Louis will be looking to bounce back from their series opening loss to Baltimore on Monday night as they barely stood a chance, as the Orioles put up double digit runs on the Cardinals. The Cardinals will be looking to break their two game losing streak as well.

Baltimore has been one of the best teams in all of baseball this season and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in the second game of this series against St. Louis on Tuesday night. They will also be looking to get one step closer to clinching the American League East division as they are building up a comfortable lead over Tampa Bay at the moment. Baltimore comes into this game as winners of eight out of their last 10 games on the season and they are currently on a one game winning streak as well. They are currently holding a three-game lead over Tampa Bay, and they will be looking to further extend that lead with another victory here on Tuesday.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles -1.5 (+100)

Arizona Diamondbacks @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a roller coaster of a season for the Arizona Diamondbacks and they will be looking to keep things rolling in the right direction and his second game of the series against the New York Mets on Tuesday night in New York City. Arizona was able to pick up the victory in the opening game of the series after putting four runs on the board and limiting the New York lineup to only three runs on Monday night. Now the Arizona Diamondbacks will be looking to replicate that performance as they look to extend their lead within the National League wildcard race coming down the final stretch of the season.

The New York Mets came into this season with one of the highest payrolls in all of baseball, but the amount of money they have dished out has certainly not equal up to the production they have seen on the field for some of those players. They have been one of the worst teams in all of baseball this season, and they will likely finish in last place of the National League East division. They will be looking to even up this series here on Tuesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks after coming up short in the opening game of the series on Monday night. Unfortunately for the Mets, I don’t see that happening as I have the Diamondbacks picking up the victory.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Arizona D-Backs

Miami Marlins @ Milwaukee Brewers – 7:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Miami Marlins had a solid first half of the season, but they fell off of a cliff coming out of the All-Star break. They have spent the last couple of months trying to recover and get themselves back into a playoff position in the National League wildcard race. Unfortunately for Miami, they looked less than competitive in the opening game of the series, as they were shutout and gave up double digit runs to the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday night. They will be looking to bounce back here on Tuesday night and even up this series as they look to keep themselves within striking distance of the top three spots in the National League wildcard race.

The Milwaukee Brewers are having a solid season right now and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in the second game of the series against the Miami Marlins. They will be looking to pick up their second consecutive victory of the series to officially clinch at least a share of the series against the Miami Marlins, and set up the opportunity for a sweep on Wednesday and in the finale on Thursday. I expect Miami to have a similar performance here on Tuesday and pick up a victory over the Miami Marlins for the second consecutive evening as they look to extend their lead in the National League Central division.

Cleveland Guardians @ San Francisco Giants – 9:45PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a dreadful season for Cleveland after coming into the year with so many expectations. Last year they came one game away from challenging for the American League pennant, and they ran away with the American League Central division as well. This season in the American League Central division has arguably been the worst division, and all of Major League Baseball and Cleveland is not going to win the division and they will miss out on the playoffs in the process. On top of all of the other struggles throughout the season, what was once a solid bullpen has imploded, and their longtime manager, Terry Francona will be stepping down at the end of the season as well. They will be searching for a victory here on Tuesday night as they look to keep their faint playoff hopes alive.

It has been a solid season for the San Francisco Giants and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in the second game of this three game interleague series against the Cleveland Guardians at home on Tuesday night. San Francisco is currently sitting in third place of the National League West division and they are a couple games out of the third wildcard spot in the National League as well and if they want to chase down the Arizona Diamondbacks or the Miami Marlins they will have to pick up crucial victories like this one against Cleveland on Tuesday night. That is exactly what I expect as I have San Francisco picking up the victory in this one.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

SF Giants (-145)
