Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Guardians – 12:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox picked up a victory over the Cleveland Guardians in the second game of the three game weekend series. However, the victory was not without controversy as late in the game after a José Ramirez double, he and White Sox player Tim Anderson got into a physical altercation where punches were thrown, and both of them will likely be suspended for sometime. Which means Chicago will be without one of their best hitters at some point for a lengthy stretch this season. It is likely that Anderson will not be featured in this game either, and that is if he is not suspended by Major League Baseball. The White Sox will give him a day off to cool off and avoid any potential issues. So Chicago may be shorthanded looking to get a second consecutive victory over Cleveland.

Cleveland will be looking to bounce back and pick up a much-needed victory over Chicago in the finale of this series, as they look to take two out of three from the White Sox over the weekend at home. Cleveland struggled once again on Saturday night in the middle game of the series as they failed to be productive at the plate and the most pop that their offense had all night was when Jose Ramirez punched Tim Anderson. Now Cleveland will likely be without their best hitter as they look to take this series from Chicago and it does not look too great for them at the moment. However, I do believe the Cleveland Guardians will find a way to pick up a victory here on Sunday afternoon.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians (-145)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Boston Red Sox – 1:35PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays picked up their second consecutive victory of the season over the Boston Red Sox on Saturday afternoon. Now they will be looking to pick up their third consecutive victory over Boston with another huge victory in the finale of this series on Sunday. Toronto can certainly use all the victories over Boston they can get as they look to climb up the ranks in the American League East division standings coming down the final stretch of the season. Toronto comes into the finale of this series on a two game winning streak, and as winners of six out of their last 10 on the season. Chris Bassitt gets to start here on Sunday afternoon as Toronto looks to pick up another victory over Boston.

The Boston Red Sox will be looking to get things back in order after losing two consecutive games to the Toronto Blue Jays this weekend. Austin does not have much room for error left this season if they want to make the postseason, they will have to quickly turn things around coming down the final stretch of the year. Boston currently sits in fourth place of the American League East, and at this point in the year the only hope they have left to make the postseason in my opinion is if they can snag a wildcard spot. However, things have not been going well for them throughout the weekend and I don’t look for it to get much better for them here on Sunday. As I have the Toronto Blue Jays grabbing another victory over Boston in the finale of this series.

Houston Astros @ New York Yankees – 1:35PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros will be looking to bounce back after they lost to the New York Yankees on Saturday afternoon. As the Yankees ruined Justin Verlander’s re-debut with Houston in the Bronx and now Houston will be looking to salvage a four-game series split here on Sunday afternoon in the finale of this series. The defending World Series champions have been playing well as of late, but these two losses to the Yankees could’ve hurt them as they look to track down the Texas rangers for the lead in the American League West division. Houston comes into this game with a record of 63-49 through their first 112 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They are currently two and a half games out of first place in the division.

The New York Yankees have an opportunity to get a huge series win here at home to wrap up this weekend. With another victory in the finale of this series on Sunday afternoon, they would take three out of four games from the defending World Series champions. Another win against the Houston Astros would go a long way in helping them climb back up the ladder in the American League playoff race. As they have plenty of work to do coming down the final stretch of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. However, I don’t see that happening as I have the Houston Astros picking up the victory of the Yankees here on Sunday afternoon.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Houston Astros (+100)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Detroit Tigers – 1:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Rays were unable to follow up their Impressive victory on Friday night with another huge victory on Saturday afternoon. Now they will be looking to pick up a victory in the finale of this series at Comerica Park on Sunday afternoon and take two out of three games from the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. Coming down the final stretch of the season Tampa Bay cannot afford to drop easy games like this against Detroit as they look to catch Baltimore in the American League East division. They will already have a hard enough task ahead of them without Shane McClanahan over the next couple of weeks. They will need to be more productive at the plate if they want to grab a victory here on Sunday afternoon.

The Detroit Tigers got a huge victory in the second game of the three game weekend series on Saturday afternoon. They ruined the debut of Aaron Civale and what was a low-scoring game but their pitching staff did a solid job holding off an electric Tampa Bay lineup. As Tampa Bay only managed to score a couple of runs throughout the game on Saturday afternoon while Detroit put up four of their own to grab a huge victory. Detroit will have to have another great performance if they want to grab a second consecutive victory over Tampa Bay here on Sunday afternoon. However, I don’t see that happening as I think the Tampa Bay Rays bounce back with a victory to wrap up this series.

Seattle Mariners @ Los Angeles Angels – 4:07PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Seattle Mariners played a solid game on Saturday night and it was a close game that went down to the wire. They held onto a 2-1 lead late into the eighth inning of the game on Saturday night against the Los Angeles Angels. Finally in the top of the eighth inning they were able to tack on an insurance run to take a three to one lead over the Los Angeles Angels, heading into the bottom of the eighth. Despite the Los Angeles Angels scoring a second run the Seattle Mariners were able to hold on to pick up the victory on Saturday evening. It was the third straight victory in the series for Seattle and they will be looking to complete the sweep on Sunday afternoon.

It was a solid game from the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday night and they had plenty of opportunities to pick up the victory. However, they were unable to be effective at the plate throughout the game, and it cost them a much-needed victory in the middle game of the series against the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night. Now they will be looking to bounce back in the finale and if they don’t turn things around quickly, then their gamble to go all in at the trade deadline is not going to pay off and they are going to risk losing Shohei Ohtani in the off-season. Now they will be looking to regroup and win the finale of this three game weekend series as they look to grab some much needed momentum. However, I do not see it happening, as I have Seattle picking up their fourth victory of the series to complete the sweep.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Seattle Mariners (-110)
