Tampa Bay Rays @ Baltimore Orioles – 1.05PM ET

This Sunday afternoon clash between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles will be the third and final game of the series. The Rays have won the first two games of this series, winning the first game, 6-3 and the second game, 4-3.

Tim Newton

While they had to come from behind last night, Tampa Bay secured the win and are now up 2-0 in this series. I like them to seal the deal with a sweep tonight, thanks to their superior play and Baltimore’s pitching choice. Spenser Watkins is 2-6 with a 7.07 ERA from 10 games this season, nine of which were starts.

In his last game, Watkins gave up eight runs in just two innings of work, against the middle of the road Angels. The Rays are a far superior lineup to that of the Angels and that should be able to pile on some runs early in this.

Tim’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays -1.5 (-150)

Katherine Mouradian

The Rays know what to do to get the job done, while the margins in the scoreline haven’t been as big as some would have expected, they have still got both wins in this series so far. The Rays have won 39 of their previous 54 when it comes to playing against a right handed starter, and they have won 38 of their previous 52 games against a team in the AL East.

Looking at the Orioles now, they have won none of their previous four games on a Sunday and have only won 25 of their previous 96 games in total. It’s got to be the Rays here again, but with the close scoreline in the first two games, I’m not sure if the Rays will cover the spread, best to go for the moneyline, just in case!

Katherine’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-220)

Boston Red Sox @ Cleveland Indians – 1.10PM ET

This Sunday afternoon clash between the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians will be the third and final game of the series. The first two games were won by the Red Sox on the road. The Red Sox won the first game, 4-3, and won the second game (in 10 innings), 5-3.

Tim Newton

Much like the Rays, Boston have taken the first two games of their series and are in a good position to complete the sweep. While it has been closer than they would have liked, the Red Sox have shown they are the superior team in this matchup and I like the value they present in this one. Cleveland has been competitive in this series but are starting Eli Morgan this afternoon and he has been far from impressive.

A 2-6 record is paired with a 5.98 ERA, failing to make a massive impact from his 12 starts. Boston has a very explosive offense and given they haven’t gotten off the chain so far, I think they might in this one.

Tim’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox -1.5 (+102)

While the Red Sox lead the series going into this final game, 2-0, they certainly haven’t had it all their way, with only one run separating the teams in the first game, and the second game needed to be taken to a 10th innings, where the Red Sox eventually got up by two runs. The Red Sox have won 35 of their previous 52 clashes with a team in the AL Central and they have won four of their previous five games in total.

When it comes to the Indians, they have won just 29 of their previous 91 games where they started as the underdogs, but they have won five of their previous six games played on a Sunday. Both starting pitchers are not the greatest, but it is the batting line up of the Red Sox that will help them get across the line on Sunday afternoon.

Katherine’s MLB Pick: Boston Red Sox (-164)

Cincinnati Reds @ Miami Marlins – 1.10PM ET

This Sunday afternoon clash between the Cincinnati Reds and the Miami Marlins will be the third and final game of the series. The Reds were able to keep the Marlins scoreline in their first game win, 6-0. The Marlins were good enough to strike back in the second game, winning 6-1.

Tim Newton

While there have been some inconsistencies through the first two games of this series, Cincinnati should get over the top in this one. Miami exploded for five first innings runs last night but outside of that, the Reds have been the better team this series.

I think that will be on display in this one given the Marlins are starting Jesús Luzardo, who has a massive 7.91 ERA from his 18 games this season, with 11 of those being starts. Meanwhile the Reds are starting Tyler Mahle who is an impressive 10-4 this season and should put his team in a good position to win.

Tim’s MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds -1.5 (-110)

Katherine Mouradian

With this series all leveled up a one game a piece, it is all on the line for both teams. The Reds are seven and a half games behind the NL Central leading Brewers, while the Marlins are last in the NL East, 16 games behind the Braves, who are leading. The Reds have won all four of their previous games on a Sunday and when it comes to the third game of a series, they have won 20 out of their previous 27 games.

Looking now at the Marlins, they have won just three of their previous 11 games played on a Sunday and they have won just three of their previous 10 games overall. What I’m liking the look of the most is the unders. The under has hit eight out of the Reds previous 11 games on a Sunday and 44 times of their previous 67 games playing a team in the NL East. The under has also hit 13 out of the Marlins previous 18 games on a Sunday.

Katherine’s MLB Pick: Under 8.5 (-115)

Houston Astros @ Texas Rangers – 2.35PM ET

This Sunday afternoon clash between the Houston Astros and the Texas Rangers will be the third and final game of the series. The Astros have continued their excellent performance this season by winning the first two games of this series. They won the first game, 5-4, and they won the second game, 5-2.

Tim Newton

I’m taking another team to comfortably complete the sweep this afternoon, this time with the Astros. The two teams sit on opposite ends of the AL West standings and there is definitely a reason for that. Texas can’t seem to compete, especially against some of the best teams in baseball and this afternoon will be no different.

Zack Greinke is a big reason why Houston has the second best run differential in the majors, given he is 11-4 with a 3.41 ERA from 26 starts this season. He will be able to restrict the Rangers enough and allow the explosive Houston offense to put too many runs on the board for the Rangers to keep up.

Tim’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros -1.5 (-126)

With the Rangers 33 games behind the Astros in the AL West, it came as no surprise to watch the Astros win the first two games of this series. Although it is somewhat pleasing to see that the Astros are just simply walking all over the Rangers, and the first game especially, was kept pretty close, with the Astros winning by just one run. The Astros have won 36 of their previous 53 clashes with the Rangers, but haven’t won any of their previous four games on a Sunday.

When it comes to the Rangers, they have won seven of their previous 26 when it comes to the third game of a series, and they have won only three of their previous 13 games played on a Sunday. It has to be the Astros here, they are one of the best teams in the league, and for better value, I’m getting on the spread.

Katherine’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros -1.5 (-126)

Colorado Rockies @ Los Angeles Dodgers – 4.10PM ET

This Sunday afternoon clash between the Colorado Rockies and the Los Angeles Dodgers will be the third and final game of this series. The first game was won by the Rockies on the road, 4-2. The second game, which was played on Saturday night, was won by the Dodgers, 5-2.

Tim Newton

A pretty straightforward pick here with the Dodgers coming out on top at home. I’m surprised they dropped the opener but they definitely made up for it last night. I think that they will take momentum from that clash into tonight’s rubber and easily take care of the inconsistent Rockies tonight. While LA are starting Mitch White, who has started in just two games this season, he has 17 games and 35.1 innings under the belt for the year and has an impressive 3.06 ERA.

While he registered a loss in his last start, he allowed just two runs across four innings and the Dodgers only scored one run themselves for the entire game. Given they are at home and against a below average bullpen, I expect them to score a lot more than that, allow White to ease into the game and help deliver a win.

Tim’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (TBA)

Katherine Mouradian

Things are all leveled up in the final game of this series. The Dodgers are still hunting first place in the NL West, which is currently occupied by the Giants, who are three games ahead. The Rockies are also in the NL West, but sit a mammoth 24.5 games behind the Giants. The Dodgers have won 45 of their previous 61 games played on a Sunday, and they have won 101 of their previous 143 when playing a team that has a losing record.

On the flip side, the Rockies have won six of their previous seven when it comes to the third game of the series, and they have won just 16 of their previous 64 games on the road. Even though the Rockies won the first game of this series on the road, their longer record on the road leaves a lot to be desired. I just can’t put money on the Rockies with that record on the road.

Katherine’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers
