New York Yankees @ Baltimore Orioles – 1:35PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a solid start to the season for the New York Yankees as they have picked up five victories in their first eight games of the season. Now they will head into the finale of this four-game series against the Baltimore Orioles split at one game of peace after Thursday’s rain out and their loss yesterday on Saturday. The Yankees will be looking to win the series here on Easter Sunday, on the road with a solid pitching performance from Nestor Cortés. He will be making his second appearance of the season, and he opened up his season with a victory in his last start as well.

It has been a pretty average start to the season for the Baltimore Orioles as they have played within the division twice already this season. They opened up the year with the Boston Red Sox and now are finishing up an important series with the New York Yankees here on Sunday. A series victory would be very important for Baltimore as it would get them off on the right foot and get them away from the .500 mark heading in a positive direction. As they come into this game having picked up four victories in their first eight games of the season. Tyler Wells is slated to make a start for Baltimore in this one on Sunday. However, with Nestor Cortés on the mound for the Yankees, I think it’ll be New York that grab’s the deciding victory here on Sunday.

NY Yankees (-150)

Miami Marlins @ New York Mets – 1:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Miami Marlins and the New York Mets should be quite familiar with each other as they will be finishing up their second series of the season against each other here on Easter Sunday. With the new schedule taking effect this and the number of games against a divisional opponent dropping from 19 to 14 these early season games are much more important than they were in the past. The New York Mets have already taken five of the seven games played between the two teams and have already clinched this series as well, and now have the opportunity to sweep the Miami Marlins here on Sunday. This will be the last time these two teams meet until the middle of September so a victory here would be huge for momentum for both teams.

It has been a rough start to the season for the Miami Marlins, as they have only picked up three victories in their first nine games of the season. Meanwhile, the New York Mets, have had a pretty average start to the season but if you look deeper into their record you get a little concerned when you realize all of their victories, the season of come against Miami. As they have yet to beat a team, that is not the Miami Marlins, but they will still be hoping they can cap this series off with a three-game series sweep and move into the week on a winning streak. The pitching matchup for this one will be Braxton Garrett for Miami versus Carlos Carrasco for New York and I think the Mets get the victory here on Sunday as well.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

NY Mets (-145)

Seattle Mariners @ Cleveland Guardians – 1:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Seattle Mariners season opened with them, losing three out of four games at home to the Cleveland Guardians. Now in their return trip to Cleveland, Seattle has taken the first two games of the series and have the opportunity to sweep Cleveland here on Sunday afternoon. It’ll be a nice way to bounce back for a Mariners team that has started off the season slow after winning 90+ games last season. They have used timely hitting throughout the last two games of the series and now they will be looking to do so once again here on Sunday to sweep the Cleveland Guardians and return the favor from earlier this season.

The Cleveland Guardians will be looking to bounce back and grab at least one win in the series before welcoming in the New York Yankees this week. They will certainly need the momentum boost, but this came as a bit of a surprise, if you saw the results of last week when Cleveland took three out of four from Seattle in Seattle. However, most Cleveland fans can tell you that the Guardians tend to start the season off very slow, and this isn’t much of a surprise to them. George Kirby takes them on for Seattle while Zach Plesac makes another start for Cleveland and I have to give the victory to Seattle and this one after please after Plesac’s terrible outing in his last appearance.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Seattle Mariners (-130)

St.Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers – 2:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

This has been a solid series this far between the two top teams in the National League Central division and the third and final game of the series should be a good one as well. Weirdly enough the winning team of both games shut out the other team as both teams have picked up one victory a piece heading into Sunday’s finale. It is the St. Louis Cardinals that have all the momentum coming into the third and final game on Sunday after their six to nothing victory over Milwaukee on Saturday. Now they will be looking to grab their second victory in a row and get back on track after a poor start to the season. They’ve only managed to pick up three victories in their first eight games of the year.

The Milwaukee Brewers have gotten off to a solid start this season as they just suffered their second loss of the season yesterday against St. Louis. Now they come into this game having picked up six victories in their first eight games of the season and they will be looking to take two games out of three from St. Louis at home over the weekend as well. Despite their lack of offensive production yesterday they are still very well capable of doing so, and grabbing the victory here again, St. Louis on Sunday, as long as the offense gets back on track. I expect from Milwaukee to grab the victory in this one on Sunday afternoon.

Milwaukee Brewers (-155)

Texas Rangers @ Chicago Cubs – 2:20PM ET

Tony Battalio

After a solid start to the season against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Texas Rangers have regressed a little bit during the series with the Chicago Cubs. As they have lost the first two games, and now heading to the finale on Easter Sunday, looking to avoid being a sweat on the road at Wrigley Field. Their once explosive offense that we saw against Philadelphia has disappeared as they have only managed to score three runs in two games against the Chicago Cubs over the weekend. As they have now struggled against both the Baltimore Orioles in the Chicago Cubs, and have lost both series. They will be looking to stop the bleeding a little bit with a victory of this one, but they will certainly have to get back on track throughout the week if they want to keep up a decent start of the year.

It has also been an average start to the year for the Chicago Cubs as they have picked up four victories in their first seven games of the season. However, they have looked great in this series against Texas and I’ll have the opportunity to sweep the Texas Rangers after back-to-back solid performances on Friday and Saturday. They have scored 12 runs throughout the first two games of the series while holding Texas to only three as their pitching has been immaculate. The pitching matchup for this one will be Jon Gray for Texas against Jameson Taillon for Chicago and I have to give the advantage to the Cubs in this one as I think they sweep the Rangers here on Sunday.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Chicago Cubs (-110)
