Atlanta Braves @ Washington Nationals – 1:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

There’s not much left to play for when it concerns the Atlanta Braves this season, but I will be looking to build up momentum before heading into the postseason as they look to return to the World Series, and hopefully lift their second trophy in the last few seasons. They have the best record in all of Major League Baseball this season, and they will be looking to lock that down by finishing the regular season strong over the next week and a half. Atlanta comes into the second second game of this series on Saturday night with 99 victories on the year and they will be looking to pick up their 100th win on the year.

It has been a rough year for the Washington Nationals and at this point in the season they will just be looking to finish the regular season strong to build up momentum up towards next year. Washington will be looking to pick up an upset victory over the Atlanta Braves here on Saturday afternoon at home, however things didn’t look too good for them in the opening game of the series on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Washington Nationals, I don’t see it getting much better for them here on Saturday either as I look for the Atlanta Braves to get another comfortable victory over Washington to set up the opportunity to sweep them on Sunday and the finale.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Atlanta Braves

Arizona Diamondbacks @ New York Yankees – 1:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be looking to finish the regular season on a strong note and clinch themselves a spot in the playoffs this season by grabbing one of the three wild card spots in the National League. They will have to finish the regular season strong and pick up some crucial victories down the stretch like this game on Saturday afternoon against the New York Yankees on the road in the Bronx. Arizona comes into the second game of this three game interleague series with a record of 81-73 through their first 154 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They will be looking to bounce back after their loss to the New York Yankees in the opening game of the series on Friday night.

The New York Yankees will be looking to pick up their second consecutive victory of the series after blowing out the Arizona Diamondbacks in the opening game of the series on Friday night. It was one of the best performances from the Yankees all season long, but it is too little, too late for the New York Yankees as they will miss out on the postseason this year. They will be looking to pick up their second consecutive victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks with another win here on Saturday afternoon to officially clinch the series, and set up the opportunity to sweep Arizona as well. However, I expect Arizona to bounce back and pick up the victory in this one.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Arizona Diamondbacks

Colorado Rockies @ Chicago Cubs – 2:20PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a long season for the Colorado Rockies and they will be looking to finish the regular season on a high note to gain momentum before heading into the offseason. After their performance this season, it seems like there was a long rebuilding period ahead of them over the next several seasons. They have been one of the worst teams in all of Major League Baseball this season, and they will be looking to end the regular season off without losing over 100 games on the year. They have been out of the playoff race since virtually the beginning of summer and things have just continued to snowball for them since then. To avoid losing 100 or more games Colorado will have to finish the regular season with a record of 7-2 over their last nine games.

It was a solid victory for the Chicago Cubs in the opening game of the series against the Colorado Rockies on Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field. Now they will be looking to replicate that performance here on Saturday afternoon as they look to pick up their second consecutive victory against Colorado and officially clinch the series before heading into Sunday’s finale. Chicago will have to win games like this if they want to clinch a top three spot in the National League wildcard race and they will have to finish the last nine games of the regular season on a high note to beat out teams like Cincinnati, Arizona, and San Francisco. I expect them to pick up another victory here on Saturday afternoon over the Colorado Rockies.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Chicago Cubs (-210)

Baltimore Orioles @ Cleveland Guardians – 6:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Baltimore Orioles will be looking to pick up a victory in the third game of the series against Cleveland on Saturday night on the road at Progressive Field. They will be looking to finish the regular season strong as they try and clinch the American League East division over the next week and a half. They have been the best team in the American League this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here against Cleveland who has been underwhelming throughout the year and they have already been eliminated from the playoffs so they don’t have much to play for this season.

The Cleveland Guardians will be looking to delay the Baltimore Orioles playoff party with another victory over Baltimore in Saturday night’s game at home. Cleveland has been very underwhelming this season, but they have been able to pick up steam coming down the final stretch of the season as they look to close out the year by gaining as much momentum as possible before heading into the offseason. They have an opportunity to spoil the Baltimore Orioles plans of clinching the American League East division if they can pick up some victories over them over the weekend but unfortunately I look for Baltimore to grab the victory here on Saturday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles (-145)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ Cincinnati Reds – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Pittsburgh Pirates will be looking to spoil the Cincinnati Reds playoff hopes with some victories over the Reds over the weekend on the road in Cincinnati. Pittsburgh had a fantastic start to the season but they were unable to maintain that start and they now find themselves eliminated from the playoff race, and they will be looking to close out the regular season on a positive note as they look to gain momentum for next season. Pittsburgh has dominated the season series against Cincinnati this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling throughout the weekend when they face off for the last time this year.

The Cincinnati Reds will have to pick up some crucial victories coming down the final stretch of the season if they want to make the playoffs and clinch one of the top three spots in the National League wildcard race. Cincinnati had a slow start to the season, but they have themselves in a solid position to make the playoffs this season if they finish the regular season on a high note. Unfortunately for Cincinnati they were on able to pick up the victory in the opening game of the series on Friday night, but I expect them to bounce back on Saturday night in game number two.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cincinnati Reds
