Chicago White Sox @ New York Yankees – 1:05PM ET

This one will be the series opener between the two teams before playing a doubleheader on Sunday. Both teams came into this season as divisional favorites but at the moment only the Yankees are playing up to their potential.

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox are having a round start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They were expected to be the favorites in the American League Central division but have looked like one of the worst teams in the league throughout the first month and half of the season. They come into this series with the New York Yankees with a record of 19-19 through their first 38 games of the year. They are currently in second place of the American League Central division as they are 3.5 games back of first place.

The New York Yankees are playing the best team in Major League Baseball so far this season. They currently come into this game with a record of 28-10 through their first 38 games of the year. They are first place of the American League East division as they currently hold a 5.5 game lead over the second place Tampa Bay Rays. As for the result of this game I am going with the New York Yankees to get the victory in this series opening game.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-230)

Jeffery Thomas

The Chicago White Sox and Nee York Yankees got Friday night off unexpectedly due to a rainout and that game will be made up on Sunday as a part of a doubleheader. So now Saturday’s game will serve as the series opener and is a chance for Yankees starter Nestor Cortes to continue his remarkable start to the season. He is 2-1 on the year with a 1.35 ERA and will be opposed by Dallas Keuchel who is starting to get back into form. Keuchel owns a very respectable 2.70 ERA ever since April 20th when he was rocked for 10 runs against the Guardians.

However, I’m still not confident enough in him to pick the White Sox in this spot against Cortes who has a large enough sample size at this point to be considered a dominant left-handed pitcher. He just shut down these same White Sox on the road on May 15 in 8 innings of work just allowing 3 hits and one earned run. I don’t see any reason why he can’t replicate something similar on Saturday and lead his guys to victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees -1.5 (-110)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 28-10 record. They are coming off a 9-6 loss to the Baltimore Orioles that put an end to their four-game winning streak. The Yankees are the best defensive team in the league allowing 3.04 runs per game and are ranked fourth in the league scoring 4.95 runs per game on league-best 1.46 home runs per game. The Yankees will start Nestor Cortes who is 2-1 for the season with a 1.35 ERA. The Yankees have won 22 of the last 29 opening games of a series.

The Chicago White Sox are second in the AL Central with a 19-19 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 7-4 win over the Kansas CIty Royals. The White Sox are 19th in the league allowing 4.29 runs per game and are ranked 26th in the league scoring 3.57 runs per game. They will start Dallas Keuchel tonight who is 2-3 for the season with a 5.54 ERA. The White Sox have won 6 of the last 7 games played on Saturday and 8 of the last 10 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-230)

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Chicago Cubs – 2:20PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago Cubs will be playing the third game of their four game series in this one. In game number two it was the Arizona Diamondbacks who got the win in a great back and forth game.

Tony Battalio

The Arizona Diamondbacks snapped their lengthy losing streak in game one of this series. Then they took the win in game two of this one in what was a thrilling contest. Now that they’ve clinched at least a share of this series they will go for the series victory over the Chicago Cubs in game number three. Arizona now comes into this game with a record of 20-21 through their first 41 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have moved into fourth place of the National League West division.

The Chicago Cubs slide continues as they have now lost three games in a row. They will be looking to keep the hope alive of splitting this series with the Arizona Diamondbacks but they will need to win today and Sunday to make that happen. They come into this game with a record of 15-23 through their first 38 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As for the result of this one I am going with the Arizona Diamondbacks to get the win and clinch the series victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks (+128)

Jeffery Thomas

The Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago Cubs will continue their series on Saturday after a very fun matinee game Friday afternoon. Arizona took the win in that contest by a score of 10-6 in a game that had 11 home runs. The wind was blowing out at Wrigley Field on a warm day and Arizona’s Josh Rojas took full advantage, hitting his first 3 homeruns of the season. Chicago has now lost the first two games of this four-game series and their losing streak sits at 3 overall.

The DBacks came in losers of six straight but have found a liking to playing the Cubs and will go for win #3 of the series on Saturday. They’ll like their chances with Madison Bumgarner taking the mound, as he sports one of the lowest ERAs in baseball. The Cubs are just 3-13 in their last 16 home games and I think this is another case of the wrong team being favored. Give me Arizona to win again.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks (+128)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago Cubs are fourth in the NL Central with a 15-23 record. They have lost the last three games after winning the previous four in a row. The Cubs are 17th in the league scoring 4.21 runs per game and are ranked 18th allowing 4.27. Justin Steele will be the starting pitcher for the Cubs tonight who is 1-4 for the season with a 4.50 ERA. The Cubs have lost 7 of the last 10 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game and 5 of the 7 when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are fourth in the NL West with a 20-21 record. They have won the first two games of the series against the Chicago Cubs after losing the six previous games. The Diamondbacks are 22nd in the league allowing 4.36 runs per game and 23rd scoring 3.81 runs per game. They will start Madison Burmgarner tonight who is 2-2 for the season with a 2.29 ERA. Arizona has won 6 of the 8 when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Chicago Cubs (-152)

New York Mets @ Colorado Rockies – 3:10PM ET

The New York Mets and Colorado Rockies will be playing the first game of their weekend series in this one after it was postponed on Friday. These two teams are trending in completely opposite directions so far this season.

Tony Battalio

The New York Mets are having a fantastic start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They come into the first game of this doubleheader with a record of 26-14 through their first 40 games of the season. They are currently in first place of the National League East division and have the second best record in all of the National League as well. They are 6-4 in their last ten games of the season and are currently on a two game winning streak as well. Carlos Carrasco will take the mound in game one after being scheduled to pitch in Friday’s opener.

The Colorado Rockies season started surprisingly hot. However, they have fallen apart over the last couple of weeks. They now come into this game with a record of 18-19 through their first 37 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are in last place of the National League West at the moment as they find themselves seven and a half games behind the first place Los Angeles Dodgers. As for the result of this series opening game I am going with the New York Mets to get the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-120)

Jeffery Thomas

Colorado Rockies slugger Kris Bryant had planned to restring from injury on Friday against the New York Mets but now will have to wait until this game on Saturday. That is because Friday’s game at Coors Field was wiped out due to a snowstorm in the Denver area. The game will now be made up as a part of a doubleheader on Saturday as the Mets look to carry on the momentum from their last series where they took three of four from the St. Louis Cardinals.

Meanwhile the Rockies have lost four straight series and have fallen below .500 at 18-19. They are also now in last place in the NL West. This is a very winnable game for Colorado though, as Carlos Corasco has struggled on the road, giving up 11 runs in 16 innings pitched away from home. That’s good for a 6.19 ERA and now he’s heading to one of the friendliest hitter’s ballparks in the league so I think the Rockies despite their struggles as a team can keep this one close or win it outright.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Colorado Rockies +1.5 (-166)

Marko Nadin

The Colorado Rockies are at the bottom of the NL West with a 18-19 record. They have lost 8 of the last 10 games but are coming off a 5-3 win over the San Francisco Giant. The Rockies are fifth in the league scoring 4.94 runs per game and are ranked second to last allowing 5.89 runs per game. German Marquez will be their starting pitcher tonight who is 1-3 for the season with a 6.16 ERA. The Rockies have 10 of the last 14 home games against a right-handed starter and the last 4 games played on Saturday.

The New York Mets are on top of the NL East with a 26-14 record. They have 4 of the last 6 games and are coming off a 3-1 series win against the St. Louis Cardinals. The Mets are 9th in the league scoring 4.64 runs per game and are ranked fourth allowing 3.53 runs per game. The Mets will start Carlos Carrasco tonight who is 3-1 for the season with a 3.73 ERA. The Mets have won 6 of the last 8 games against NL West opponents and 8 of the last 10 opening games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Mets (-120)

Los Angeles DodgersPhiladelphia Phillies – 6:05PM ET

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies will be playing game two of their three game series in this one. In game one the Los Angeles Dodgers got the win in game one against the Philadelphia Phillies and now they will look to clinch the series win with another victory on Saturday.

Tony Battalio

It’s been a fantastic start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season for the Los Angeles Dodgers. As they come into this game with a record of 26-12 through their first 38 games of the season. They will be looking to even up the season series with the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday as Philadelphia currently holds the lead three games to two heading into the middle game. It was a perfect combo for the Dodgers on Friday as Urias and Freeman combined to lead the Dodgers to victory.

The Philadelphia Phillies are having a rough start to the season. As they come into this game with a record of 18-21 through their first 39 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Philadelphia is currently in third place of the National League East division at the moment as they are seven and a half games back of the division leading New York Mets. They are 5-5 in their last ten games as they will be looking to break their two game losing streak in this one. As for the result of this game I am going with the Los Angeles Dodgers to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers

Jeffery Thomas

The Los Angeles Dodgers had revenge on their minds Friday in the opener against the Phillies and were able to deliver on it. Philadelphia came into Dodger Stadium earlier this month and took three of four which surely left a sour taste in the Dodgers’ mouths. That caused them to go out and start this series with a bang, beating Philly by a score of 4-1.

Freddie Freeman had three singles while Julio Urias pitched five shutout innings in the victory. Next up the Dodgers get Aaron Nola who is just 1-4 on the year with that one win coming on Opening Day against the very bad Oakland Athletics. Give me the Dodgers again as I foresee a sweep coming this weekend.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers

Marko Nadin

The Philadelphia Phillies are second in the NL East with a 18-21 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games including last night’s 4-1 loss to the Dodgers. The Phillies are 10th in the league scoring 4.60 runs per game and 17th allowing 4.26 runs per game. The Phulles will start Aaron Nola tonight who is 1-4 for the season with a 3.64 ERA. Philadelphia has won 9 of the last 12 games against NL West teams and has lost 4 of the last 5 games as home favorite.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on top of the NL West with a 26-12 record. They have won the last six consecutive games after losing the previous four. The Dodgers are on top of the league scoring 5.52 runs per game and are ranked second allowing 3.23 runs per game. Los Angeles will start Mitch White tonight who is 1-0 for the season with a 4.82 ERA. The Dodgers have won 19 of the last 26 games played on Saturday and 59 of the last 81 second games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers

Detroit Tigers @ Cleveland Guardians – 6:10PM ET

The Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians will be playing the second game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one the Cleveland Guardians picked up the victory over the Detroit Tigers and they will be looking to clinch the series win on Saturday.

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Tigers are having a rough start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They come into this game with a record of 13-26 through their first 39 games of the year as they are in last place of the American League Central division. They are ten games back of the division leading Minnesota Twins at the moment as they are 4-6 in their last ten games on the year. They are currently on a three game losing streak that they will be looking to break in this one.

The Cleveland Guardians are coming into this one riding high after a series opening win over division rivals on Friday evening. Now they will be looking to get the win in the middle game of this series and lock up the series win and set up the sweep opportunity in Sunday’s finale. As for the result of this one I am going with the Cleveland Guardians to grab another victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians

Jeffery Thomas

The Detroit Tigers will look to snap their three-game losing streak in game 2 of their series with the Cleveland Guardians on Saturday. The Tigers lost the opener 6-1 as their offense continues to do next to nothing right now. They’ve scored exactly one run in all three games of this losing streak and now sit with a record of 13-26. Cleveland is a little better at 17-19 but have been in a bit of a rough patch as well.

They got the win on Friday but are still losers of five of their last seven games. With the total being set at 8, I can’t help but not look at this under on Saturday. I’ve mentioned the Tiger’s struggles at the plate but the Guardians are as well, averaging just 3.2 runs a game in their last five. I’d be very shocked if we don’t get another low-scoring affair.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Under Total Runs

Marko Nadin

The Cleveland Guardians are third in AL Central with a 17-19 record. They have lost 4 of the last 6 games but are coming off a 6-1 win last night against the Tigers. Cleveland is 7th in the league scoring 4.77 runs per game and 25th allowing 4.58 runs per game. They will start Shane Bieber who is 1-2 for the season with a 3.72 ERA. Cleveland has won 6 of the last 7 after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game and 8 of the last 11 against AL Central opponents.

The Detroit Tigers are at the bottom of the AL Central with a 13-26 record. They have lost the last three games scoring only one run in each of them. The Tigers are the worst offensive team in the league scoring only 2.82 runs per game and are ranked 14th allowing 4.12 runs per game. They will start Alex Faedo tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 2.87 ERA. Detroit has won 4 of the last 5 road games against a team with a losing record and has lost 21 of the last 27 after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians
