The Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays will be playing the third game of their five game weekend series in this one. In game one it was the Jays who picked up the win. In game number two the Jays got another win to take a two games to zero series lead.

The Tampa Bay Rays are stuck in a world of hurt at the moment. They have only won four out of their last ten games on the year and currently find themselves on a four game losing streak as well. They have fallen all the way down to fourth place in the American League East at the moment as they fall farther and farther behind the New York Yankees. They now come into this game with a record of 40-36 through their first 76 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. 

The Toronto Blue Jays have total control of this five game series at the moment and now they will go into game three on Saturday, which is also game one of a doubleheader looking to clinch the series victory. They come into this game with a record of 44-33 through their first 77 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently on a two game winning streak at the moment and have won six out of their last ten games on the year. As for the result of this game I am going with the Rays to get their first win of this series.

Jose Berrios put an end to his personal three-game losing streak when he got the win on Friday against the Tampa Bay Rays. He pitched 5 innings and only allowed a couple runs in the 9-2 Blue Jays victory which got them off to a great start in the month of July. It was also a great day for their fans as they celebrated Canada Day at home with a victory for their beloved Jays. 

The Rays and Toronto are set to go for a doubleheader on Saturday and it’s important for Tampa to get some positive results soon before things spiral out of control. They’ve already lost the first two games of this series and that give them their second 4-game losing streak in less than a month. Their offense is nowhere to be found, especially on the road, and there’s no reason to back this team with any confidence at the moment. I’m riding with Toronto yet again.

The St.Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies will be playing the second game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Phillies who got the win. Now they will be looking to wrap up the series victory here in game two.

The St.Louis Cardinals are coming into this game looking to bounce back in game two of this series. They had a three to zero lead in game one but ended up on the losing end of this one as the game ended 5-3 in favor of Philadelphia. Now the Cardinals come into this game with a record of 43-36 through their first 79 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have now lost two games in a row and have won five out of their last ten games on the year.

The Philadelphia Phillies are coming into this game with a record of 41-37 through their first 78 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won five out of their last ten games on the season and are currently on a two game winning streak at the moment. They will be looking to clinch the series victory here in game two. As for the result of this one however, I am going with the St.Louis Cardinals to get the win.

Darick Hall of the Philadelphia Phillies broke a 3-3 tie in the sixth inning with a homerun that ultimately led his club to the 5-3 win on Friday night. It was his third home run since being called up on Wednesday and interestingly enough all of his hits so far have been long balls. Nolan Arenado despite losing, hit for the cycle for the second time in his career, with his homer in the third inning putting St. Louis up 3-0. 

Unfortunately, that was the last run they scored all game as the Phillies moved to 19-8 since having interim manager Rob Thomson take over for fired Joe Girardi. The Cardinals have been an average team on the road this season and now will have to deal with Kyle Gibson Saturday who is 4-1 at home. I like his chances of keeping that trend going and will be rolling with the Phillies to beat St.Louis yet again.

The Philadelphia Phillies are third in the NL East with a 41-37 record. They have won 4 of the last 6 games and are coming off a 5-3 win over the Cardinals in the series opener. The Phillies are 5th in the league scoring 4.86 runs per game and 16th in the league allowing 4.32 runs per game. Kyle Gibson will be the Phillies’ starter tonight who is 4-3 for the season with a 4.48 ERA. The Texas Rangers and New York Mets will be playing game two of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Mets who got the win. Now they will be looking to secure the series victory here in game two.

The Mets have been one of the best teams in Major League Baseball so far this season. They come into game two of this series with a record of 48-29 through their first 77 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently on a one game winning streak and have won four of their last ten games on the year. 

The Texas Rangers will be looking to bounce back in game two of this three game series. They lost a close game in game number one after pulling within a run after being down four to zero. They now come into this game with a record of 36-39 through their first 75 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently on a two game losing streak and have lost five out of their last ten games on the year. As for the result of this game I am going with the New York Mets to get the win.

We knew the losing the Mets were enduring would not continue on for too long and the streak was snapped Friday in their 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers. Eduardo Escobar had not recorded a hit in his last ten at bats when he came up and hit a three-run homerun with the game even at 1 a piece in the 4th inning. David Peterson pitched a gem and tied a career-high with 10 strikeouts in six innings. 

The Mets will look to stack wins up now and get an interesting test against Rangers ace Martin Perez on Saturday. Perez is 6-2 on the year with a 2.22 ERA but he has struggled a bit on the road, giving up 11 earned runs in his last three outings away from home. New York should be able to do just enough at the plate against him to squeak by yet again and get this win in front of their fans.

They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 4-3 win over the Rangers which put an end to their longest losing streak of the season of three games. The Mets are 4th in the league scoring 4.88 runs per game and are ranked 10th in the league allowing 4.12 runs per game. Trevor Williams will start for the Mets tonight who is 1-4 for the season with a 3.64 ERA. The Mets have won 6 of the last 10 home games.

The Texas Rangers are second in the AL West with a 36-39 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off back to back losses to the Royals and the Mets. The Rangers are 18th in the league scoring 4.43 runs per game and are ranked 14th in the league allowing 4.27 runs per game. The Rangers will start Martin Perez who is 6-2 for the season with a 2.22 ERA. Texas has won the last five interleague games on the road and 23 of the last 31 games against NL East teams.

New York Yankees @ Cleveland Guardians – 6:10PM ET

The Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees will be playing game two of their three game weekend series in this one. They were originally intended to play game one on Friday but it was rained out. Now this game will be the second game of a day-night doubleheader.

The New York Yankees have been the best team in Major League Baseball so far this season. They come into this game with a record of 56-21 through their first 77 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They come into this game having won six out of their last ten games on the year and are currently on a one game losing streak at the moment. They will have the best three pitchers in their rotation going this weekend as they will have Gerit Cole, Nestor Cortes, and Luis Severino on the mound against the Guardians.  

The Cleveland Guardians will come into this game looking to continue the momentum they have going after their huge series win over the Minnesota Twins. They now come into this game with a record of 39-34 through their first 73 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are the youngest team in the league and have overachieved this year according to many. As for the result of this one however, I look for the Guardians to pull off the upset win.

The New York Yankees and Cleveland Guardians had their Friday night contest postponed due to rain and will now partake in a doubleheader on Saturday. This is just more of the same for Cleveland who has already had to play five doubleheaders against home this season. Aaron Civale was slated to start Friday but will now get the ball for the night cap on Sunday against Yankees starter Nestor Cortes. 

Cortes has given up four runs in each of his last two road starts (both losses) but Civale comes in with one of the worst records and ERAs in the league (2-4, 7.20). Neither guy is going to be having a great day on the mound and I think we get plenty of runs in an entertaining ballgame so give me the over.

The Cleveland Guardians are second in the AL Central with a 39-34 record. They have lost 6 of the last 9 games and are coming off a 3-2 series loss to the Minnesota Twins. Cleveland is 16th in the league scoring 4.49 runs per game and is ranked 15th in the league allowing 4.29 runs per game. The Guardians will start Kirk McCarty tonight who is 0-1 for the season with a 10.29 ERA. Cleveland has won 7 of the last 9 opening games of a series and have lost the last 4 games played on Saturday.

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 56-21 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-1 loss against the Houston Astros. The Yankees are second in the league scoring 4.98 runs per game and are on top of the league allowing 3.04 runs per game. San Diego Padres @ Los Angeles Dodgers – 7:15PM ET

The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers will be playing the third game of their four game weekend series in this one. In game one it was the Dodgers who got the win. In game two the Dodgers added another win to clinch at least a share of the season series.

The San Diego Padres have their backs against the wall here in game three. As they have yet to win a game in this four game series and will lose the series here in game three if they don’t pick up a win to keep their hopes alive. The Padres come into this game with a record of 46-33 through their first 79 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won four out of their last ten games on the year and currently find themselves on a two game losing streak. 

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on a roll at the moment as they come into this game with a record of 48-28 through their first 76 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As they come into this game as one of the best teams in the league so far this year. They are currently in first place of the National League West division as they hold a three and a half game lead over the San Francisco Giants. As for the result of this game I am going with the Dodgers to get the win.

Tony Gonsolin pushed his record to 10-0 in the Dodgers 5-1 win over the San Diego Padres in a battle of the top two teams in the NL West. Gonsolin is pushing for his first all-star game appearance and should be a no-doubter with his record still unblemished and an ERA of 1.54.

LA has been winning the important division matchups and is now 4-1 against San Diego this season and pushed their lead out to 3.5 games. Yu Darvish has not been as good away from home this season and gets a confident Dodgers lineup on Saturday that is looking to bury their rivals even further behind them in the standings. Expect a great game between these two but I give the slight edge to the home team in this one.
