Los Angeles Dodgers @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 6:35PM ET

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates are starting a three game series in this one at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Both of these teams are having very opposite seasons, as the Dodgers are on top of the National League, while Pittsburgh is towards the bottom.

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Dodgers will hit the road to PNC Park, in Pittsburgh to play a three game series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. They are coming off of two consecutive sweeps against the San Francisco Giants and the Chicago Cubs as they are currently on a six game winning streak heading into this three game series. After this one they will return home for an eight game home stand against Philadelphia and Arizona. They come into this game with a record of 19-7 through their first 26 games of the season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates had the unfortunate feeling of being the team that gave the Cincinnati Reds their first series win of the 2022 Major League Baseball season over the weekend. Now they will be looking to bounce back against the Los Angeles Dodgers in this weekday three game series at home. The Pirates are coming into this game with a record of 11-16 through their first 27 games of the season.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-245)

Jeffery Thomas

The Pittsburgh Pirates will return home on Monday to start up a series with the Los Angeles Dodgers after an unsuccessful weekend in Cincinnati. The Pirates lost two of three to the Reds, who are widely regarded as the worst team in all of baseball. So now a shift to this series puts them against one of the best teams in the league as I’m not seeing a way this goes well for the Pennsylvanian team. The Dodgers finished off their sweep of the Chicago Cubs on Sunday with the 7-1 victory and have not lost in the month of May (6 games). I don’t see a way the Pirates can be that first team to beat this LA team that just goes out every day and takes care of their business with relative ease. Julio Urias has an ERA under 2.00 on the year and will find plenty of success against this weak Pirates lineup, leading the Dodgers to the comfortable series opening win.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (-137)

Marko Nadin

The Pittsburgh Pirates are third in the NL Central with a 11-16 record. The Pirates are coming off a 2-1 loss of the series against the worst team in the league, the Cincinnati Reds. Pittsburgh is ranked 20th in the league scoring 3.93 runs per game and second to last allowing 5.55 runs per game. The Pirates will start Jose Quintana who is 0-1 for the season with a 3.38 ERA. Pittsburgh has lost 8 of the last 11 games, 17 of the last 22 games against NL West teams and 5 of the last 6 home games.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on top of the NL West with a 19-7 record. The Dodgers have won the last 6 games and are coming off a series sweep against the Chicago Cubs. The Dodgers are the best scoring team in the league with 5.16 runs per game and they also allow the least runs per game with 2.4 runs per game. Julio Urias will start for the Dodgers tonight who is 2-1 for the season with a 1.88 ERA. The Dodgers have won the last 4 games against a left-handed starter, 44 of the last 59 games against AL Central teams and 7 of the last 10 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-245)

Oakland Athletics @ Detroit Tigers – 7:10PM ET

The Detroit Tigers and Oakland Athletics are starting a three game series in this one at Comerica Park in Detroit. Both the Tigers and Athletics are struggling this season as they both could use a series win to grab some momentum.

Tony Battalio

The Oakland Athletics had a decent start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season which caught some people by surprise. However, reality quickly kicked in and now they once again find themselves at the bottom of the American League standings. As they come into this game with problems both on the field and off the field as the losses keep piling up and the attendance keeps going down. They come into this game with a record of 10-18 through their first 28 games of the season.

The Detroit Tigers aren’t having a much better start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season and they play in arguably the worst division in not only the American League but all of Major League Baseball. They come into this game with a record of 8-19 through their first 27 games of the season, as they currently find themselves on a five game losing streak. As for the result of this game I am taking the Oakland Athletics to pick up the win over the Detroit Tigers.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Oakland Athletics (+110)

Jeffery Thomas

The Oakland Athletics wrapped up their series in Minnesota against the Twins on Sunday and will now take the trip to Michigan to start up a five-game series with the Tigers. It’s been a long time since the As got a win, as their 4-3 loss to the Twins on Sunday was loss number eight in a row. They now sit in dead last in the AL West and will be taking on another last place team in the Detroit Tigers. The Tigers are also on a losing streak, but it’s just five games. The Houston Astros swept Detroit in a four-game series over the weekend and completely just their lineup down. The Tigers scored only 6 runs over the four games, including a shutout loss on Sunday. The offense really needs to be fixed or it’s going to just continue to be a long season.

The As offense has only been a problem for them, but they do not have the stellar pitching to go along with it. The Tigers on the other hand, have no problem with their pitching rotation as it ranks top 10 in many categories and will be heavily relied on in this rare winnable series. Tigers starter Michael Pineda has a respectable 3.04 career ERA against Oakland and I’m expecting him to produce yet another solid outing in this win on Monday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Detroit Tigers (-130)

Marko Nadin

The Detroit Tigers are at the bottom of the AL Central with a 8-19 record. They have lost the last 5 games including a series sweep against the Houston Astros. The Tigers are second to last in the league scoring 3.21 runs per game and are ranked 20th with 4.32 allowed runs per game. Micahel Pineda will start for the Tigers tonight who is 1-1 for the season with a 3.77 ERA. Detroit has lost 7 of the last 10 home games and 19 of the last 26 games overall.

The Oakland Athletics are on the bottom of the AL West with a 10-18 record. They have lost the last 9 games being swept in the series against Cleveland, Tampa Bay and Minnesota. Oakland is 24th in the league with 3.52 runs per game and 16th allowing 4.13 runs per game. The AThletics will start Paul Blackburn who is 3-0 for the season with a 2.22 ERA. Oakland has lost 5 of the last 7 games played on Monday and 19 of the last 26 games against a right-handed pitcher.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Oakland Athletics (+110)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Los Angeles Angels – 9:38PM ET

This is going to be one of the best series of the week as two of the best teams in the league are set to face off. As the Tampa Bay Rays will travel west to California to play the Los Angeles Angels for three games.

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Rays are a young team with tons of potential and also tons of playoff experience as well as they are only a few years removed from a World Series appearance. They come into this season as of the top teams in the American League and as one of the favorites to bring home the American League pennant as well. They currently have a record of 18-11 through their first 29 games of the season. They are currently in second place of the American League East division as they trail the Yankees by two games.

The Los Angeles Angels have had a loaded team for the last few years and it is all finally starting to come together. They have been successful throughout the first month of the 2022 Major League Baseball season as they come into this game with a record of 19-11 through their first 30 games of the season. They are currently in first place in the American League West division as well, holding a half game lead over Houston. As for the result of this game I am going with the Los Angeles Angels to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels

Jeffery Thomas

The Tampa Bay Rays and Los Angeles Angels will start up their three-game series on Monday with the Angels playing host. The Rays are coming off two straight series wins over AL West opponents and will hope this one will be their third straight. The Rays swept out the Oakland Athletics before taking three of four from Seattle over the weekend. This recent run has them at second place in the AL East behind only  the Yankees. The Angels hold the first place spot in the AL West and have also won two straight series over the Washington Nationals and Boston Red Sox.

It seems the Rays are winning every game they play right now and that is thanks in large part to their red-hot offense. They are top eight in the league in runs scored per game and team batting average, and in this game against Noah Syndergaard they will be getting a lot of balls in play, resulting in a plethora of baserunners. I see Corey Kluber outperforming Syndergaard easily in this spot and I like the Rays to win this game big honestly. It’s not a geamni want to bet against right now.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays

Marko Nadin

The Los Angeles Angels are on top of the AL West with a 19-11 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win against the Washington Nationals. The Angels are third in the league with 1.31 home runs per game and 7th with 4.69 scored runs per game. Defensively, the Angels are ranked 9th in the league with 3.78 allowed runs per game. Noah Syndergaard will start for the Angels tonight, he is 2-1 for the season and has a 2.63 ERA.

The Tampa Bay Rays are second in the AL East with a 18-11 record. They are coming off a 2-1 10th inning loss to the Seattle Mariners that put an end to their six-game winning streak. Seattle is eighth in the league with 4.68 runs per game and they are ranked 15th allowing 4.10 runs per game. Jeffrey Springs will start for the Rays tonight who is 1-0 for the season with a 0.69 ERS.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels

Philadelphia Phillies @ Seattle Mariners – 9:40PM ET

The Philadelphia Phillies and Seattle Mariners are starting a three game series in this one. Both the Phillies and Mariners are struggling this season as they both could use a series win to grab some momentum.

Tony Battalio

The Philadelphia Phillies are coming off of their third series of the 2022 Major League Baseball season with the New York Mets. It also ended up being their third series loss of the season against the New York Mets, as they lost two of the three games in a rained shortened four game series over the weekend at home. Now they will hit the road out West to play a slumping Seattle Mariners team. Philadelphia comes into this game with a record of 12-16 through their first 28 games of the year.

The Seattle Mariners are a young team with tons of potential, however they are playing some terrible baseball at the moment. As they come into this game with a record of 13-16 through their first 29 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They currently sit in third place in the American League West as they are 2-8 in their last ten games. As for the result of this one however, I am going with the Philadelphia Phillies to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Philadelphia Phillies (+102)

Jeffery Thomas

There was a lot of postponements in the Phillies-Mets series but in the end, the Meta once again got the better of their rivals. New stork won two of three, much like their series over a week ago and this is now the Phillies’ third straight series loss. They’ll hope to turn things around against a Seattle Mariners team tnat is also struggling mightily. The Ms have lost 10 of their last 12 games and after a solid start to the year, are now three games under .500.

Given how both teams are struggling coming in, it’s going to be a very tough series to pinpoint a winner. However, it’s hard to not take the value with the Phillies given how bad the Mariners have played recently and it seems they can’t buy a win at the moment. Ranger Suarez hasn’t been his usual self this year but should do enough to outperform Chris Flexen, who is just 1-4 on the season.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Philadelphia Phillies (+102)

Marko Nadin

The Seattle Mariners are third in the AL West with a 13-16 record. They are coming off a 2-1 10th inning win over the Tampa Bay Rays that put an end to their six-game losing streak. Seattle is 8th in the league with 1.18 home runs per game and are ranked 15th in the league with 4.28 scored runs per game. Seattle will start Chris Flexen who is 1-4 for the season with a 3.10 ERA. Seattle has won 5 of the last 6 games against teams with a losing record and 5 of the last 7 games as home favorites.

The Philadelphia Phillies are 4th in the NL East with a 12-16 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games and played two games yesterday against the New York Mets. The Phillies are 9th in the league scoring 4.66 runs per game and hitting 1.18 home runs per game. Ranger Suarez will be the Phillies’ starter tonight who is 2-1 for the season with a 4.63 ERA. The Phillies have won 7 of the last 9 games played on Monday and 5 of the last 7 interleague road games against a team with a losing record.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (-120)

Colorado Rockies @ San Francisco Giants – 9:45PM ET

This is yet another interesting series this week taking place out west in the National League. As the Colorado Rockies go to the Bay Area to take on the San Francisco Giants in what should be a great series between these two National League West division teams.

Tony Battalio

The Colorado Rockies have arguably been the biggest surprise of the 2022 Major League Baseball season thus far. As they come into this game with a record of 16-12 through their first 28 games of the season. They are currently in third place of the National League West and are 6-4 over the last ten games of the season. They are coming off of a series loss against the Arizona Diamondbacks as they will be looking to bounce back in this one to finish off their road trip.

The San Francisco Giants are playing just about how everyone expected they would play during the course of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As they come into this game with a record of 16-12 through their first 28 games of the season. After finishing as the best team in Major League Baseball in last year’s regular season I’m sure they would gladly trade that for a deeper run in this year’s playoffs. As for the result of this one I’m going with the San Francisco Giants to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-270)

Jeffery Thomas

The Colorado Rockies come into this series with the San Francisco Giants off a loss to their division rival Arizona Diamondbacks over the weekend. The DBacks took two of three, and held Colorado to just 5 runs in those three games. That was a battle of the two last place teams in the NL West but that’s just because of how competitive the division is. The Rockies are in fourth place with a great record of 16-12 and will now battle the Giants who have the same record but own the tiebreaker in the early going. The Giants have not won a series since 4/22-4/24 against the Washington Nationals and are still trying to find a groove in this new season.

Colorado has lost five of their last six games on the road and also five of their last six when proved as an underdog. Pair those trends with the fact that they will be facing San Fran’s best pitcher in Carlos Rodon ans I just don’t see them getting anything going in this one.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-270)

Marko Nadin

The San Francisco Giants are third in the NL West with a 16-12 record. They are coming off back-to-back wins over the St. Louis Cardinals after losing the previous five games. The Giants are fifth in the league scoring 4.76 runs per game and are ranked 11th allowing 3.89 runs per game. San Francisco will start Carlos Rodon who is 3-1 for the season with a 1.55 ERA. The Giants have won 4 of the last 5 games played on Monday and 47 of the last 64 games as favorites.

The Colorado Rockies are third in the NL West with a 16-12 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games but are coming off a 4-0 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Rockies are 6th in the league with 4.73 runs per game and have the best AVG in the league of .260. The Rockies will start AUstin Gomber who is 2-2 for the season with a 3.58 ERA. Colorado has won 4 of the last 5 games against teams with a winning record and 13 of the last 19 games against a left-handed pitcher.

Marko’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (-270)
