Atlanta Braves @ Washington Nationals – 7:05PM ET

The Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals will be playing the first game of their series in this one on Monday. This is the second time these two teams are meeting as the Atlanta Braves lead the season series two games to one.

Tony Battalio

The Atlanta Braves are coming into this game on an 11 game winning streak at the moment. They have been on fire since the month of June started and the defending World Series champions look to be gearing up to make another run and win back to back titles. They now come into this game with a record of 34-27 through their first 61 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are in second place of the National League East as they trail the New York Mets by 5.5 games at the moment.

The Washington Nationals are coming into this game with a record of 23-39 through their first 62 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are in last place of the National League East division as they trail the New York Mets by nearly 20 games at this point. They are currently on a one game losing streak and have won five out of their last ten games. As for the result of this game I am going with the Atlanta Braves to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Atlanta Braves (-164)

Jeffery Thomas

The Atlanta Braves have been a totally different team ever since the calendar flipped to June and that continued on Sunday in their 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. That win brought their winning streak up to 11 games and they now get a series against the last place team in their division (Washington Nationals) to try and build upon that number.

The Nats lost their season finale 4-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday but they did win the series by taking two of three from the Brew Crew. These two teams met in the first month of the year and it was Washington who won two of the three games but right now these teams are at totally different levels. It is the Braves who are finding their form and they should not have any issues taking care of their division rivals on Monday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Atlanta Braves -1.5 (+105)

Chicago White Sox @ Detroit Tigers – 7:10PM ET

The Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers will be playing game one of their series in this one. This is the second time they will meet this season. The White Sox currently lead the season series two games to one at the moment.

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox have been seriously underwhelming so far this season. They were expected to be one of the best teams in the American League this year and run away with the American League Central division. However, they come into this game with a losing record of 27-31 through their first 58 games of the Major League Baseball season. They are in third place of the American League Central division as they trail the Minnesota Twins by six games at the moment.

The Detroit Tigers are having an even worse season than the Chicago White Sox, as they are 20-39 through their first 59 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They come into this game into fourth place of the American League Central division as they trail the Minnesota Twins by nine and a half games. As for the result of this game I am going with the Chicago White Sox to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (-138)

Jeffery Thomas

The Chicago White Sox will travel to Michigan on Monday for an AL Central battle in the Motor City to take on the Tigers. It was a tough 12-inning loss for Chicago on Sunday to the Rangers and resulted in their second straight series loss for the ball club. They are now 4 games under .500 at 27-31 and sit directly above the Tigers in the AL Central standings. The Tigers also lost on Sunday, getting shutout 6-0 by the Toronto Blue Jays. It was a brutal weekend for them as they were outscored 17-4 in the three games, only winning one.

It’s hard to see them producing better results in this White Sox series, as Chicago boasts a much better roster and dangerous lineup. This is a great buy-low spot for a Chicago team that was just in the postseason and is due to go on a winning run here soon.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (-138)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ St.Louis Cardinals – 7:45PM ET

Pittsburgh and St.Louis will be playing the first game of their weekday series in this one. They will be meeting for the third time this season, and at the moment the St.Louis Cardinals lead the season series five games to one.

Tony Battalio

The Pittsburgh Pirates are coming into this game with a record of 24-34 through their first 58 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently on a six game losing streak at the moment. They have picked up only three wins in their last ten games of the year. They are in the middle of the pack in the National League Central as they are in third place of the division.

The St.Louis Cardinals are coming into this game with a record of 34-27 through their first 61 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball seasons. They are in first place in the National League Central division. They have been playing great baseball all season long thus far and are looking like potential World Series contenders as well. As for the result of this game I am going with the St.Louis Cardinals.

Tony’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-190)

Jeffery Thomas

The Pittsburgh Pirates were swept out of their series with the Atlanta Braves over the weekend and now travel to St.Louis to take on the Cardinals. St. Louis had a chance to go for the sweep of the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday but came up short in the finale 7-6. The loss helped the Reds snap a four-game losing streak and despite the loss the Cards were still able to hold their spot atop the division.

Baseball is a weird game where the bad teams will still get wins almost 50% of the time and I think this game will be one of the weird ones. Pirates pitcher Mitch Keller has been stellar in his last four starts with a 2.65 ERA while the team has gone 3-1 in those outings. I like Pittsburgh to keep this one close and even have a shot outright against the top team in their division who is throwing out a rookie on the mound.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates +1.5 (-130)

Houston Astros @ Texas Rangers – 8:05PM ET

The Houston Astros and Texas Rangers will be playing the first game of their weekday series in this one. They will be meeting for the third time this season and at the moment the Houston Astros lead the season series five games to two heading into this three game series.

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros are coming off of a rough weekend series with the Miami Marlins and will now be looking to bounce back in this series with their American League West division rivals. The Astros have been one of the better teams in baseball this season as they come into this game with a record of 37-23 through their first 60 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They currently lead their division by 8.5 games over the Texas Rangers at the moment.

The Texas Rangers are in second place of the American League West despite having a winning record at the moment. They are currently on a two game winning streak as they come into this game with a record of 28-31 through their first 59 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As for the result of this game I am going with the Houston Astros to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-166)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros avoided being swept by the Miami Marlins by winning the series finale on Sunday 9-4. It was Justin Verlander’s 8th win of the season which leads the majors and his first career win over the Marlins. The win extended their lead in the division over the Angels as Houston is still the only team in the AL West with a winning record.

The Texas Rangers are included in that as they are 28-31 but they did pick up two wins over the weekend over the Chicago White Sox. They’ll hope to keep that momentum going into this series against the Astros who they are 2-5 against so far this season. It’s been a great head-to-head in Houston’s favor all season and there’s no reason that should change on Monday given the gap in talent between these two rosters.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros -1.5 (+105)

Cincinnati Reds @ Arizona Diamondbacks – 9:40PM ET

The Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks will be playing the first game of their series in this one. They have met once before this season and the season series is currently tied at two games a piece.

Tony Battalio

The Cincinnati Reds have been one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball so far this season. They come into this game with a record of 21-39 through their first 50 games of the season. The Reds are in last place of the National League Central division at the moment as they currently trail the St.Louis Cardinals by eight and a half games. They are handicapped by a low payroll and the signs are showing with their performance this season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have also been having a rough season this year, as they come into this game with a record of 29-33 through their first 62 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are in fourth place in the National League West division at the moment. They have won four out of their last ten games on the year. As for the result of this game I am going with the Cincinnati Reds to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds (+138)

Jeffery Thomas

The Cincinnati Reds were surprisingly one of the best teams in their division in the month of May but things have crashed back down to Earth recently. They are just 3-7 in their last 10 and were nearly swept by the Cardinals over the weekend. They’ll have to shake off the recent losses and focus now on the Arizona Diamondbacks who they just played a week ago.

That series was an even 2-2 split but the Reds held the scoring edge 25-20. It’s hard for me to ever trust the Reds on the road though, as they’ve only been able to win eight games away from home this season. Also their starters for Monday (Mike Minor) has been downright bad in his two outings this season giving up 8 runs in just 8.1 innings. Give me the DBacks in this home game.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Arizona Diamondbacks (-164)
