San Francisco Giants @ Detroit Tigers – 1:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The San Francisco Giants are coming off of a rough weekend where they were swept by the Washington Nationals. They will be looking to bounce back in the opening game of the series against the Detroit Tigers on Monday afternoon at Comerica Park. This game serves as a makeup game for a previous game between these two teams that was rained out earlier this season. San Francisco hasn’t had much luck against Detroit this season either as they lost the previous two meetings between these two teams, and now they will retroactively be looking to avoid a sweep at the hands of the Tigers here on Monday afternoon.

The Detroit Tigers have been a middle-of-the-road team this season and despite their lack of success at the moment they are well within striking distance to win the American League Central division still. They will be looking to cap off this three-game sweep of the San Francisco Giants after winning the previous two games of this series way back in April at the beginning of the year. Detroit is coming off of a weekend where they lost two out of three games to the San Diego Padres, but they were able to salvage some momentum in the finale of the series on Sunday afternoon. I expect them to carry that momentum over into this game and pick up their third victory of this series against the San Francisco Giants.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Detroit Tigers

Baltimore Orioles @ Philadelphia Phillies – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Baltimore Orioles are coming off of a successful series where they regained first place in the American League East division after taking three out of four games from the Tampa Bay Rays on the road. Now they will be looking to capitalize off of that momentum when they start this series against the Philadelphia Phillies and continue their road trip throughout the week. Baltimore has been one of the best teams in baseball this season, and they are certainly capable of making a ton of noise in the postseason as long as they remain healthy throughout the remainder of the year. They have picked up seven victories in their last 10 games of the season.

The Philadelphia Phillies managed to salvage some momentum in the finale of their three-game road series against the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday afternoon. Once again it was Cleveland’s bullpen that saved the day for the opposing team as they allowed Philadelphia to put up a crooked number on the board in extra innings and pick up a much-needed victory. Now Philadelphia will be looking to use some of that momentum to pick up a victory over Baltimore here on Monday as they return home to Citizens Bank Park to start a much-needed homestand after their recent struggles on the road. However, I don’t look for that to happen as I think Baltimore picks up the victory here on Monday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles (+105)

Colorado Rockies @ Washington Nationals – 7:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a rough season for the Colorado Rockies, but they have the opportunity to grab some victories in this upcoming series against the Washington Nationals. Colorado has lost five out of their last 10 games on the season and they are currently in last place in the National League West division unless something changes quickly they are on pace to lose over 100 games this season. They are coming into the opening game of this series on a one-game losing streak and they will be looking to regroup when they face off with another basement-dwelling team in Washington here on Monday night on the road in the nation’s capital.

The Washington Nationals are coming off a series sweep of the San Francisco Giants, and they will be looking to use the momentum from that series to grab a victory in the opening game of this series against Colorado. After their three-game winning streak, they have now won six out of their last 10 games on the season and they will be looking to pick up their fourth consecutive victory here on Monday night at home. I expect Washington to use that momentum and grab a comfortable victory over Colorado here on Monday night as they look to climb out of the basement in the National League East division.

Kansas City Royals @ Cleveland Guardians – 7:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a rough season for the Kansas City Royals, and they will be hoping to regroup as they open up this series on the road in Cleveland. Kansas City is in the middle of a five-game losing streak at the moment and they will be looking to break that streak here on Monday night. They have lost eight out of their last 10 games on the season and they are on pace to lose over 100 games this year. They are 25 games out of first place even though the American League Central division has been the worst in all of baseball this season which shows just how rough of the year it’s been for Kansas City.

Cleveland had a ton of momentum coming into the finale of their three-game series on Sunday against the Philadelphia Phillies. However, they encountered the same problem that played them last week against the Pittsburgh Pirates in the finale of that series. As their bullpen imploded and they lost the finale of the series which cost them an opportunity at sweeping both of those Pennsylvania teams. They will be hoping that their implosion on Sunday afternoon does not affect the way they play in the opening game of this series against Kansas City on Monday night at home. I do not see that happening as I think Cleveland picks up a victory to regroup and open up the series on the right foot, as they try to regain first place in the division from the Minnesota Twins.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians (-200)

St.Louis Cardinals @ Arizona Diamondbacks – 9:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Cardinals had a lot of expectations coming into the season, but they have been a disappointment up until this point of the year. They are running out of time to turn things around and they will be hoping they can grab some momentum in the opening game of the series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday night at Chase Field. The Cardinals come into the opening game of the series on a three-game losing streak and as losers of six out of their last ten on the season. They will have their hands full with an Arizona Diamondbacks team that has been surprisingly solid throughout the season.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will be looking to grab a victory in the opening game of the series on Monday night at home. They have exceeded their expectations this season and if they can continue to play as well as they have up until this point they will make the playoffs at the end of the regular season. However, they have been slumping as of late as they have lost four consecutive games coming into the opening game of the series and they have lost eight out of their last ten on the season. They will be looking to regroup and get themselves back in the conversation for the National League West division title with a strong performance in this game. I expect them to pick up the victory here on Monday night over the St.Louis Cardinals.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Arizona D-Backs
