Cleveland Guardians @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 7:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Cleveland Guardians are coming off of a rough weekend where they blew a pair of leads and were swept by the Texas Rangers. In the opening game of the series on Friday night and then Sunday’s finale Cleveland held a lead late into the ball game before their bullpen imploded on them twice. Those two losses could have a lot more impact on the playoff race than some people will realize at the moment. They now fall to three games below .500 and even further into second place in the American League Central division. They will be hoping to use this series against the Pittsburgh Pirates to bounce back and get their season back on track after a rough opening weekend to the second half of the year.

The Pittsburgh Pirates had a fantastic start to the season but since winning 22 out of their first 30 games of the year, they have fallen well below the radar. They now sit outside of the playoff race and they look to be on track to have another losing season unless things turn around quickly. Much like Cleveland, they are coming off of a series where they were swept in three games over the weekend. As they lost three consecutive games to the San Francisco Giants, and they will be hoping to turn things around as they open up this series at home against Cleveland. However, I don’t see that happening as I think Cleveland will grab a victory here on Monday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Baltimore Orioles – 7:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Dodgers are having a solid season and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling as they open up their second series of the post-all-star break calendar. They are coming off of a three-game series against the New York Mets and they took full control of that series from the opening game. They will be looking to keep it going when their road trip takes them to Camden Yards against the Baltimore Orioles. They come into this game sitting in second place of the National League West division and they are hoping a successful week can propel them into first ahead of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Baltimore Orioles come into this game with one of the best records in the American League. They will be looking to grab a huge victory in the opening game of this series against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night at home. The Baltimore Orioles are coming off a three-game series sweep over the Miami Marlins and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in the opening game of this series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. They are the hottest team in all of Major League Baseball at the moment as they have won eight consecutive games and eight out of their last ten games of the season. I expect them to grab another victory in the opening game of this series as well.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles (-110)

San Francisco Giants @ Cincinnati Reds – 7:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Cincinnati Reds had a rough start to the season and it seemed as if they were headed for the basement of the National League Central division. However, since calling up Elly De La Cruz they have become one of the hottest teams in all of Major League Baseball this season. They are currently battling it out for first place in the National League Central division with the Milwaukee Brewers. They are coming off of a series with the Milwaukee Brewers over the weekend as well and in that series, the Cincinnati Reds failed to grab a victory over the Milwaukee Brewers and they will be looking to bounce back in this game against the San Francisco Giants.

The San Francisco Giants come into this series after a three-game weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates. They swept the Pittsburgh Pirates over the weekend and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling heading into the week against another National League Central division opponent. They come into this game with a record of 52-41 through their first 93 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. San Francisco is currently on a five-game winning streak at the moment and they have won six out of their last ten games of the season. I expect them to grab the victory in this game as well.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

SF Giants (-160)

Detroit Tigers @ Kansas City Royals – 8:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Tigers have been underwhelming this season, and they will be looking to use this series against the Kansas City Royals to turn things around coming out of the All-Star break. They are coming off of a solid performance against the Seattle Mariners over the weekend where they picked up a series victory on the road in the Pacific Northwest. Now their road trip will take them to the Midwest, where they will face off with a fellow American League Central division opponent, the Kansas City Royals. They are currently in third place in the American League Central division, and if they can continue winning two out of three games every series, they will quickly climb up the standings.

The Kansas City Royals are having a rough season this year and they are on pace to lose over 100 games this season. It seems more and more likely that they will lose over 100 games unless things change for the Royals rather quickly. They will have their worst starting pitcher on the mound for the opening game of this series as Jordan Lyles is arguably the worst starting pitcher in all of Major League Baseball this season as well. He will come into this game with a 1-11 record on the year looking to grab his second victory of the season here in this game. However, I don’t see that happening as I think the Detroit Tigers will grab the victory in the opening game of the series on Monday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Detroit Tigers (-135)

New York Yankees @ Los Angeles Angels – 9:38PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees will come into this series looking to get back on track after they enter the break in a rough way. Injuries have caught up to them and have affected their performance over the past few weeks. They cannot afford to allow some of these games down the stretch to slip away from them as they happen to play in the best division in the league and every single game will matter by the time the season comes to an end. New York is coming off of a tough series where they lost two out of three games to the Colorado Rockies over the weekend. They will be hoping to bounce back against the Los Angeles Angels, but unfortunately, their hopes are dwindled a bit as Gerrit Cole won’t be featured in the series.

The Los Angeles Angels will be looking to kick the Yankees while they are down when they open up the series with them on Monday night. The Yankees already had a poor start to the road trip as they lost two out of three to Colorado, and Los Angeles is coming off of a successful series against their division rivals, and the defending World Series champion of the Houston Astros. As Los Angeles took two out of three games from Houston at home and now they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in the opening game of the series against the Yankees. I expect them to grab a victory in the opening game of the series on Monday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

LA Angels (-120)
