New York Mets @ Milwaukee Brewers – 2:10PM ET

The New York Mets and the Milwaukee Brewers will be playing the first game of their three game series here on Monday afternoon. The New York Mets are fresh off of a series with the Miami Marlins while the Milwaukee Brewers just finished up a series with the Chicago Cubs to open up the 2023 Major League Baseball season.

The New York Mets come into the series after a gruelling four game set with the Miami Marlins over the weekend. New York still managed to take three out of four games from Miami to open up the season and now set a top the National League East after the first weekend of baseball. Now they’re lengthy season opening road trip will continue as they travel to the Midwest to play the Milwaukee Brewers for three games. Carlos Carrasco is set to make his first appearance of the season here in this one as he is scheduled to start for the Mets on Monday afternoon. New York will be hoping Tommy Pham can keep his hot streak going after three RBIs and a homerun over the weekend against Miami. 

The Milwaukee Brewers had a decent start to the season as they took two out of three games from the Chicago Cubs to open up the year. They now sit atop the National League Central tied with the St. Louis Cardinals after the opening weekend of the season. They will be looking to start this series off with a victory as two of the favorites to make the playoffs in the National League square off for three games during the week. Jesse Winkler has gotten off to a hot start the season as he has already recorded for RBIs through the first three games of the year. Freddy Peralta gets to start for the Milwaukee Brewers in this one and I think Milwaukee gets the win at home in game number one as well.

San Francisco Giants @ Chicago White Sox – 3:10PM ET

The San Francisco Giants and Chicago White Sox will be playing the first game of their three game series here on Monday afternoon. The San Francisco Giants are fresh off of a series with the New York Yankees while the Chicago White Sox just finished up a series with the Houston Astros to open up the 2023 Major League Baseball season.

It was a rough start to the season for the San Francisco Giants, but they did face one of the best teams in all of Major League Baseball to open up the year. They lost two out of three games to the New York Yankees and now they will head further west to continue their road trip against the Chicago White Sox. San Francisco did not put on any bad performances throughout the first three days of the season but they will have to be much better if they want to compete in a loaded National League West this year. Brandon Crawford is off to a hot start the season as he racked up three runs batted in and added a homerun to his totals as well. Anthony DeSclafani will be making his first start of the season and this one for San Francisco.

The Chicago White Sox had a surprisingly productive showing as they opened up the season against the defending champions, the Houston Astros on the road. They took two out of four games from Houston and now look to keep the momentum rolling in this series against the San Francisco Giants at home. They couldn’t avast for a better start from Yoan Moncada, as he has already driven in four runs, and hit two long balls to open up the season. Michael Kopech will be making his first start of the season for the Chicago White Sox on this one and I think Chicago will grab themselves their second victory in a row on Monday night.

Chicago Cubs @ Cincinnati Reds – 6:40PM ET

The Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds will be playing the first game of their three game series here on Monday afternoon. The Cincinnati Reds are fresh off of a series with the Pittsburgh Pirates while the Chicago Cubs just finished up a series with the Milwaukee Brewers to open up the 2023 Major League Baseball season.

It was a rough start to the season for the Chicago Cubs, as they dropped two out of three games to the Milwaukee Brewers. Now they will be looking to bounce back against the Cincinnati Reds team that performed well to open up the 2023 Major League Baseball season. Patrick Wisdom injected a lot of wisdom into the Cubs fans this weekend with his hot start, and gave them a potential look towards the future of the ballclub. Drew Smyly will be making his first appearance of the season, and this one for Chicago as he looks to get the Cubs their second victory of the year in game one of the series against the Reds.

The Cincinnati Reds start it off the season by taking two out of three games from the Pittsburgh Pirates at home. Now they will continue their homestand they will come in yet another National League Central division rival, the Chicago Cubs. With the new balance schedule this season, winning these early season division games is that much more important as you will only see these teams 14 times a year. So the Reds will be hoping they can take this series as well and get themselves off to an even better start this season. Nearly everyone in the Cincinnati lineup provided timely hitting over the weekend and I think that will carry into this game here on Monday and Cincinnati will pick up the victory and game number one.

Toronto Blue Jays @ Kansas City Royals – 7:40PM ET

The Toronto Blue Jays and the Kansas City Royals will be playing the first game of their four game series here on Monday afternoon. The Toronto Blue Jays are fresh off of a series with the St.Louis Cardinals while the Kansas City Royals just finished up a series with the Minnesota Twins to open up the 2023 Major League Baseball season.

The Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to bounce back after a rough start to the 2023 Major League Baseball season. Toronto is a team that is loaded with talent but they just can’t seem to put it all together and if this continues into the future, they are very in the Los Angeles Angels territory rather quickly. They dropped two out of three games against the St. Louis Cardinals to open up the year. After an impressive performance on opening day, they followed things up by losing the next two games, and now they will look to recover in this four-game series against Kansas City. While it may not benefit them to stay in the state of Missouri, it’s fair to say that they have a much easier matchup this week than they did over the weekend.

The Kansas City Royals already look atrocious, and we are only four days into the brand new Major League Baseball season. They were unable to win a single game against the Minnesota twins over the weekend, and now they will start their second series of the season with three losses and zero wins. Matt Duffy was one of the main guys that was somewhat productive for them over the opening weekend as he drove in two runs and hit a homerun against Minnesota. Brady Singer will be making his first start of the season for Kansas City in this one but I don’t expect to go well as I have Toronto picking up the victory in game number one.

Baltimore Orioles @ Texas Rangers – 8:05PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles and the Texas Rangers will be playing the first game of their three game series here on Monday afternoon. The Baltimore Orioles are fresh off of a series with the Boston Red Sox while the Texas Rangers just finished up a series with the Philadelphia Phillies to open up the 2023 Major League Baseball season.

What looked like a promising start to the season quickly turned to disaster for the Baltimore Orioles as they dropped two out of three games to their American League East division rivals, the Boston Red Sox. Catcher Adley Ruschman started off the season red hot and looked absolutely unstoppable on opening day before regressing throughout the remaining two games of the series. Now, Baltimore will be looking to bounce back as they had to Texas to play a red hot Rangers club that has been scoring plenty of runs throughout the opening weekend. 

The Texas Rangers have started off the 2023 Major League Baseball season undefeated after sweeping the Philadelphia Phillies over the weekend. It is a far cry from how they started out last season as they were virtually locked in the basement after the first month of the year. Interesting to see if they can continue this momentum into the second series of the weekend as the calendar turns to April. Texas has already eclipsed double digits runs in two out of the three games this season, and they will look to keep their bats hot as they head into the series with the Baltimore Orioles. I expect that to happen as I have Texas grabbing the victory in game number one of the series.
