Texas Rangers @ Houston Astros – 4:37PM ET

The Texas Rangers opened up the American League Championship Series with a crucial 2-0 victory over their in-state rivals and the defending World Series champions, the Houston Astros. Now Texas will be looking to grab a second consecutive victory over the Houston Astros and remain undefeated in the postseason while taking a massive lead back home for the next few games of the series as well. They will have Nathan Eovaldi getting the baseball for this game and he had a pretty successful regular season and he had a few solid performances throughout his first couple of appearances in the postseason. They will be looking to replicate their performance from tonight and shut out the Houston Astros here in game number two of the series on Monday afternoon.

The defending World Series champions will be looking to bounce back after being blanked in the opening of the series on Sunday night. Their lineup was so dangerous throughout the majority of the season in their opening series of the playoffs went flat in the game one of this series tonight that is something that will need to change throughout the series and change rather quickly if they want an opportunity to defend their World Series title, as well as win another American League pennant this season. Houston was solid on the mound as they held the Texas Rangers only a pair of runs throughout game one of the series but they will have to be a lot more aggressive at the plate if they want to get the job done in this one. Regardless of how Houston performs at the plate here in game two I still think the Texas Rangers pick up the victory in this game. 

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Philadelphia Phillies – 8:07PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks have shocked everybody and made it all the way to the National League Championship Series. Now they will be looking to pick up a victory in the opening game of the series on the road and Philadelphia here on Monday night. Arizona has knocked out two division champions along the way as they took down the Milwaukee Brewers and then the Los Angeles Dodgers in three straight games. Arizona will be looking to take down the Philadelphia Phillies as they look to prevent Philadelphia from defending their National League pennant and returning to the World Series for the second consecutive season. Arizona themselves will be looking for their first National League pennant in nearly 2 decades as well.

The Philadelphia Phillies will be looking to pick up a solid victory in the opening game of this series as they try to take the first step towards defending the National League pennant, and returning to their second consecutive World Series as well. Philadelphia had a slow start to the season but they really picked it up throughout the summer and the ending months of the regular season and they now find themselves in a fantastic position to make another run at a World Series title. They took down the Atlanta Braves for the second consecutive season and they come into this game with plenty of momentum, but I think it’ll be the Arizona Diamondbacks that pick up the victory in this game, led by an impressive performance from Zac Gallen.
