The Atlanta Braves (40-26) are on the road to face the Detroit Tigers (27-37) at Comerica Park on Wednesday in a doubleheader. The Tigers took Monday’s series opener 6-5 in 10 innings. Alex Lange got the win with one scoreless inning of relief.
Andy Ibanez went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double in the win. He scored two runs. Spencer Torkelson went 3 for 6 with a home run and three RBIs. Michael Harris II was 3 for 4 with a home run and two runs for the Braves. Marcell Ozuna added a double and one run.
ON THE MOUND
Spencer Strider (6-2, 3.79 ERA) is slated to take the mound for Atlanta in the first game of the doubleheader. The right-hander leads the league in strikeouts (121). Strider allowed eight runs over four innings in his last start, a 13-10 home win over the Mets on Thursday.
He gave up eight hits while striking out eight and walking two in the no-decision. RHP Michael Lorenzen (2-3, 3.75 ERA) will take the mound for Detroit.
It’s his first appearance of the season against the Braves. In his last start on Friday, Lorenzen took the loss at home against the Diamondbacks. He threw 6.2 innings and gave up six runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking one in the 11-6 defeat.

Over the last five games, Atlanta has averaged 5.8 runs a game, a small gain compared to their season average of 5.1.
