Ryne Nelson (2-3, 5.40 ERA) is in line to start for Arizona. The RHP allowed three runs over 4.2 innings in his last start, a 5-2 road defeat against the Braves on June 3.
He took the loss, scattering six hits and walking four. For Detroit, lefty Matthew Boyd (3-4, 5.57 ERA) gets the ball. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Diamondbacks.
In his last start on Sunday, Boyd took a no-decision on the road against the White Sox. He threw five innings and gave up one run on three hits, striking out nine, in the 6-2 defeat.
