Charlie Blackmon will be looking to extend his 15-game on-base streak as the Colorado Rockies (22-29) host the New York Mets (26-25) at Coors Field on Friday for the opener of a three-game series. The Mets are in the midst of a six-game road trip.
They won only one out of three in their last series against the Cubs, taking the finale 10-1 on Thursday at Wrigley Field. Pete Alonso was 2 for 2 with a home run, two runs, and two RBIs, walking twice.
Jeff McNeil went 3 for 4 with three runs. The Rockies are in the midst of a seven-game homestand. They won three of four against the Marlins in their last series, taking the finale 7-6 on Thursday at Coors Field. Ryan McMahon went 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI. Randal Grichuk went 3 for 5 with a double and two runs.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Rockies have won two of three in the season series between the teams, including a 13-6 victory in their most recent meeting on May 7 at Citi Field. Reliever Brent Suter was credited with the win after throwing 1.2 innings.

Max Scherzer (3-2, 4.01 ERA) is slated for the start for New York. The right-hander threw six scoreless innings in his last start, a 5-4 road win over the Guardians on Sunday. He scattered three hits while striking out five and walking one in the no-decision.

Righty Connor Seabold (1-1, 5.97 ERA) will toe the rubber for Colorado. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Mets. In his last start on Sunday, Seabold took the loss on the road against the Rangers. He threw 3.2 innings and gave up five runs on five hits, striking out five and walking two in the 13-3 defeat.
