Jurickson Profar will be looking to extend his 15-game on-base streak as the Colorado Rockies (10-20) host the Milwaukee Brewers (18-11) at Coors Field on Wednesday.
The Rockies took Tuesday’s series opener 3-2. Justin Lawrence got the win with one scoreless inning of relief, and Pierce Johnson picked up his fourth save with a scoreless ninth.
Elias Diaz went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs in the win. Ezequiel Tovar added a solo home run. Rowdy Tellez was 2 for 4 with two doubles and one RBI for the Brewers.
ON THE MOUND
Eric Lauer (3-2, 5.19 ERA) is set for the start for Milwaukee. The southpaw allowed four runs over three innings in his last start, a 4-3 home defeat against the Tigers on April 25.
He took the loss, yielding eight hits while striking out four and walking two. Lauer is making his first appearance against the Rockies this season.
Over two starts against the Rockies in 2022, Lauer was 0-1 with a 14.14 ERA over seven innings. He had seven strikeouts and four walks. For Colorado, lefty Kyle Freeland (2-3, 4.32 ERA) gets the start. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Brewers.
Freeland made two appearances against the Brewers in 2022, both starts, striking out 15 and walking two over 13 innings (2-0, 0.69). In his last start on Friday, Freeland took the loss at home against the Diamondbacks. He threw six innings and gave up three runs on five hits, striking out three and walking one in the 9-1 defeat.

Over the last five games, Milwaukee has averaged only 3.4 runs a game, down from their season average of 4.5, while performing worse across the board (.206/.281/.329). Against left-handed pitchers like Freeland this season, the Brew Crew have a .624 OPS, lowest in MLB.
Joey Wiemer is the team’s most potent producer against left-handers with a 1.158 OPS in 23 at-bats. Colorado is averaging 4.2 runs per game in the last five, up slightly from 3.9 for the season.
