Hot-hitting Eloy Jimenez will be looking to extend his 10-game hitting streak as the Chicago White Sox (22-34) host the Los Angeles Angels (29-26) at Guaranteed Rate Field on Tuesday.
The Angels took Monday’s series opener 6-4. Griffin Canning got the win, giving up three runs on six hits over six innings and striking out nine, and Carlos Estevez picked up his 13th save.
Matt Thaiss was 3 for 5 with a home run and two runs in the win. Brandon Drury added a home run and three RBIs. Andrew Vaughn went 2 for 3 with a solo home run for the White Sox. Jimenez added a home run and two RBIs.
ON THE MOUND
Tyler Anderson (2-0, 4.81 ERA) is slated for the start for Los Angeles. The southpaw allowed one run over six innings in his last start, a 7-3 road win over the Red Sox on Wednesday. He was credited with the win, yielding five hits while striking out three and walking two.
Anderson is making his first appearance against the White Sox this season. Anderson made one start against the White Sox in 2022, an 11-9 road victory for the Dodgers on June 9. He surrendered four runs on four hits over three innings, striking out two and walking three.
Righty Lucas Giolito (3-4, 3.98 ERA) will toe the rubber for Chicago. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Angels. Giolito made two appearances against the Angels in 2022, both starts, striking out 13 and walking two over 12 innings (0-1, 3.75).
In his last start on Thursday, Giolito took the loss on the road against the Tigers. He threw 3.2 innings and gave up four runs on six hits, striking out four and walking seven in the 7-2 defeat.

Over the last five games, Los Angeles has averaged 4.0 runs a game, a small drop compared to their season average of 4.8. Against right-handed pitchers like Giolito this season, the Halos have a .740 OPS.
