MLB Betting: Are The Los Angeles Dodgers Worth a Preseason Bet?
Tue 15th December 2020

The Los Angeles Dodgers won the 2020 World Series, but the team is hoping to win a World Series in a full season and not a partial one. The great news for the Dodgers is that they are the MLB betting favorites for the 2021 season. They have a +400 line to win the World Series.

The Dodgers have the most outstanding roster in the league. They are worthy of a wager this preseason, as this preview shows.

Plenty of Returning Stars

The Dodgers roster has a quality lineup that will be mostly the same as it was in 2020. The only real subtraction is that Justin Turner is a free agent and likely is not going to return.

The Dodgers are likely going to allow Turner to walk, especially since he may become too expensive. Whether the Dodgers will go for a free agent to replace him is unclear, but the Dodger roster is deep enough to where they won’t have to worry.

The Dodgers have many quality players returning, including Cody Bellinger, Corey Seager, Mookie Betts, Joc Pederson, and Max Muncy. Edwin Rios has a chance to compete for the third base position Turner is leaving behind, and Gavin Lux is hoping for a rebound year as one of the league’s most exciting young players.

The rotation will feature Clayton Kershaw, Dustin May, and Julio Urias returning to the roster. Kenley Jansen will also remain as the closer.

David Price will also return to the Dodgers this season. Price sat out last season, and his return to the Dodgers will make an instant impact. Price will still need plenty of support during spring training to get back in the swing of things, but he has a good shot of fitting in well with the Dodger rotation.

Changes To the Bullpen

The most substantial change people may notice with the Dodgers entails the bullpen. Alex Wood, Jake McGee, and Blake Treinen are free agents, and whether they will return to the Dodgers remains unclear.

The Dodgers have enough talented players who can replace them like Dylan Floro and Victor Gonzalez, so there shouldn’t be any concern here.

An All-Around Club

The most valuable part of the Dodgers is that the team is more of an all-around group than anything else in baseball. From the starting rotation to the batting order to the bullpen, the team has talent in all spots.

Manager Dave Roberts is also popular for being flexible in his approach to coaching. He has been heralded as one of the most appealing strategists in baseball, as he understands how to exploit an opposing team’s weakness.

Should You Bet on the Dodgers?

The Los Angeles Dodgers are ideal for your MLB betting plans, thanks to the outstanding talent the club features. The Dodgers have many great players who are ready to compete throughout the 2021 season, and they will remain a strong contender even if they lose a few people in the free agency market.
