Two of the Big Ten Conference’s top passing offenses are set to face off at SECU Stadium on Saturday, as the University of Maryland Terrapins (6-4, 3-4 Big 10) welcome the No. 2 The Ohio State University Buckeyes (10-0, 7-0 Big 10). The Buckeyes are 27.5-point favorites, and the total is 63.
Ohio State is coming off an impressive 56-14 win over Indiana at Ohio Stadium last Saturday, their 10th straight victory. C.J. Stroud threw for 297 yards and five touchdowns. Miyan Williams ran 15 times for 147 yards and a touchdown. Marvin Harrison Jr. caught seven passes for 135 yards and a touchdown.
Maryland lost 30-0 to No. 14 Penn State at Beaver Stadium last Saturday. Taulia Tagovailoa was 11 of 22 for 74 yards. Roman Hemby carried 13 times for 68 yards. Rakim Jarrett caught three receptions for 30 yards.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The Buckeyes won the only meeting between the teams last season, a 66-17 victory in October, their fourth straight win against Maryland. C.J. Stroud threw five touchdowns for Ohio State, as TreVeyon Henderson added three TDs (2 rush, 1 rec) and Chris Olave scored twice. Taulia Tagovailoa tossed two touchdowns for Maryland.

Taulia Tagovailoa has 14 passing touchdowns (6 INT) with 239.1 yards per game through nine games to lead Maryland. In four home games this season, he has thrown for six TDs (2 INT) and an average of 283.2 yards.
Roman Hemby has been the home team’s leading performer on the ground, averaging 81.5 yards a game through 10 games. He has eight total touchdowns, seven rushing and one receiving.
Rakim Jarrett has been the primary target in the Terrapins’ passing game. He has three touchdowns and a 40.6 yard per game average through 10 appearances.
