Liberty (1-0, 0-0 Home) beat Southern Miss 29-27 at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at M.M. Roberts Stadium last Saturday. Kaidon Salter was 8 of 13 for 203 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. Salter carried nine times for 65 yards. Demario Douglas scored twice. He caught five receptions for 97 yards.

The Flames won the only meeting between the teams last season, a 36-12 victory in October. Malik Willis threw for one touchdown and ran for another two for Liberty.
