The Eastern Michigan University Eagles (5-4, 2-3 MAC) head to face the University of Akron Zips (1-8, 0-5 MAC) at Summa Field at InfoCision Stadium on Tuesday for a matchup that pits one of the Mid-American Conference’s best passing defenses against one of its strongest aerial offenses.
Eastern Michigan is coming off a close 27-24 loss at the hands of Toledo at Rynearson Stadium last Saturday. Taylor Powell threw for 61 yards and an interception. Samson Evans ran 24 times for 88 yards and three touchdowns. Tanner Knue caught three passes for 39 yards.
Akron dropped an eighth straight game last Saturday, falling 27-9 to Miami (OH) at Summa Field at InfoCision Stadium. DJ Irons was 31 of 49 for 316 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. He added 58 yards on the ground. Alex Adams scored once. He hauled in 10 receptions for 115 yards.
