The Texas Tech Red Raiders (16-12, 5-10 Big 12) will be out to add to their winning run when they welcome the No. 24 TCU Horned Frogs (18-10, 7-8 Big 12) on Saturday. TCU lost to the Kansas Jayhawks 63-58 at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena on Monday.
With 13 points, Mike Miles Jr. was the top scorer in defeat. JaKobe Coles was another standout performer with 12 points. The Horned Frogs remain sixth in the Big 12 Conference.
Texas Tech won their fourth in a row on Tuesday at Lloyd Noble Center, beating the Oklahoma Sooners 74-63. Fardaws Aimaq recorded 19 points to top the scoresheet. With 18 points and eight rebounds, Jaylon Tyson also played a part.
The Red Raiders are eighth in the Big 12 Conference. The teams are meeting for the final time this season. TCU will be seeking a season sweep against Texas Tech after getting the win in the only earlier meeting 67-61 at Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena in December 2022.
Miles Jr. led the Horned Frogs with 23 points. Pop Isaacs had 17 points in the loss. Miles Jr. and Emanuel Miller, averaging 12.6 and 11.3 points per game, respectively, have led the Horned Frogs in scoring this season.
Miller also has grabbed 5.5 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Damion Baugh is dishing 4.6 assists per game.Kevin Obanor (14.7 ppg) and De’Vion Harmon (13.5) have powered the Red Raiders on offense. Obanor also has pulled down 6.4 rebounds per game, while Harmon has tallied 3.5 assists per game.
The Horned Frogs have had little success at United Supermarkets Arena in recent seasons, losing nine of the last 10 games. In the last 10 games, TCU is 4-6 with an average margin of +2.5 (73.1-70.6). For the season, the Horned Frogs are averaging 75.8 points per game, compared to 67.1 for opponents.
