The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks (2-3) are on the road to face the No. 11 Texas Longhorns (3-0), who will be out to build on their winning streak, on Monday. Northern Arizona beat the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos 63-54 at Rolle Activity Center on Friday. Jalen Cone was the scoring leader with 17 points.
Texas won their third in a row in dominant fashion on Wednesday at Moody Center, beating the Gonzaga Bulldogs 93-74. Tyrese Hunter had 26 points to lead the team. The Lumberjacks have been led early this season by Cone and Liam Lloyd, who are averaging 12.4 and 11.8 points per game, respectively.
Meanwhile, Carson Towt is grabbing 10.2 rebounds per game, and Oakland Fort is dishing 3.2 assists. Hunter has supplied much of the Longhorns’ offense, averaging 18.0 points per game. Dillon Mitchell is pulling down 8.3 rebounds per game, and Marcus Carr is doling out 4.7 assists.
