The No. 22 San Diego State Aztecs (17-5, 8-2 MWC) will try to break down one of the nation’s top scoring defenses when they welcome the Boise State Broncos (18-5, 8-2 MWC) on Friday.

Boise State beat the Air Force Falcons 59-52 at Clune Arena on Tuesday, their third win in a row. Max Rice was a top performer with 22 points and seven rebounds. The Broncos remain second in the Mountain West Conference.

San Diego State came up short on Tuesday at Lawlor Events Center, falling to the Nevada Wolf Pack 75-66. Matt Bradley had 16 points in defeat, leading the team. The Aztecs remain first in the Mountain West Conference.

The teams are meeting for the only time this season. They last met in the Mountain West Conference Tournament Championship when the Broncos clinched the title with a 53-52 victory at Thomas & Mack Center in March 2022, their third straight head-to-head win.

Bradley had 17 points in the loss. Degenhart (14.4 ppg), Rice (13.7), and Marcus Shaver Jr. (13.2) are leading the Broncos in scoring this season. Shaver Jr. also is contributing 6.3 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

Bradley’s 13.2 points per game have powered the Aztecs on offense. Nathan Mensah is posting 5.9 rebounds per game, and Darrion Trammell is distributing 3.4 assists. Holding opponents to 60.7 points per game, the Broncos are one of the toughest scoring defenses in the nation (12th).
