The Oregon State Beavers (9-15, 3-10 Pac-12) will try to overcome one of the NCAA’s top scoring defenses when they welcome the No. 7 UCLA Bruins (19-4, 10-2 Pac-12) on Thursday.
UCLA dismantled the Washington State Cougars 76-52 at Pauley Pavilion on Saturday. With 24 points and 15 rebounds, Jaime Jaquez Jr. led the way. The Bruins are first in the Pac-12 Conference.
Oregon State lost in blowout fashion on Saturday at McKale Memorial Center, falling to the Arizona Wildcats 84-52. Jordan Pope had 11 points in the losing effort, carrying the team. The Beavers remain 11th in the Pac-12 Conference.
This marks the only meeting of the season between the teams. UCLA won both matchups between the teams last season, the last of which was a 94-55 triumph at Gill Coliseum in February 2022. Tyger Campbell led the Bruins with 20 points.
Maurice Calloo had 13 points in the losing effort. The Bruins have been led this season by Jaquez Jr., who is averaging 16.3 points per game. Jaquez Jr. also has grabbed 7.7 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, Campbell is dishing 4.9 assists.
Pope and Glenn Taylor Jr. have been the primary providers of the Beavers’ offense, averaging 12.6 and 11.0 points per game, respectively. Taylor Jr. also has recorded 2.5 assists per game. Dzmitry Ryuny has posted 4.4 rebounds per game.
