The No. 22 San Diego State Aztecs (17-4, 8-1 MWC) will be out to extend their winning run when they are on the road to face the Nevada Wolf Pack (16-6, 6-3 MWC) on Tuesday. San Diego State blew out the San Jose State Spartans 72-51 at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl on Saturday, their fourth consecutive win.
With 16 points and eight rebounds, Keshad Johnson had a standout performance. The Aztecs remain first in the Mountain West Conference. Nevada lost on Saturday at Thomas & Mack Center, falling to the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels 68-62. Jarod Lucas led the team in scoring in defeat with 15 points.
The Wolf Pack are third in the Mountain West Conference.The teams are meeting for the last time this season. San Diego State will be pursuing a season sweep against Nevada after taking the only prior matchup 74-65 at Viejas Arena at Aztec Bowl on January 10, their ninth straight head-to-head victory.
Matt Bradley led the Aztecs with 17 points, while Johnson added 11 points. Nick Davidson had 17 points and seven rebounds in the loss.The Aztecs have been led this season by Bradley, who is averaging 13.1 points per game.
Meanwhile, Nathan Mensah is grabbing 6.0 rebounds per game, and Darrion Trammell is dishing 3.4 assists. Lucas (17.0 ppg) and Kenan Blackshear (14.8) have supplied much of the Wolf Pack’s offense. Blackshear also has distributed 4.6 assists per game. Darrion Williams has posted 7.4 rebounds per game.
San Diego State is 9-1 in the last 10 games with an average margin of +9.3 (73.9-64.6). Nevada has a 7-3 record over the last 10, scoring 74.5 points per game on average while holding opponents to 69.9 (+4.6 margin).
