No. 19 Kentucky Wildcats (8-3) head to face the Missouri Tigers (11-1) on Wednesday to begin Southeastern Conference play. Kentucky outplayed the Florida A&M Rattlers 88-68 at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center on Wednesday. With 27 points and nine assists, Cason Wallace led the way.
Missouri won in dominant fashion on Thursday at Enterprise Center, beating the Illinois Fighting Illini 93-71. Kobe Brown had 31 points and eight assists, leading the team.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Kentucky triumphed in the only game between the teams last season 83-56 at Rupp Arena at Central Bank Center in December 2021. Keion Brooks Jr. led the Wildcats with 17 points and nine rebounds.
Jarron Coleman and Amari Davis had 10 points each in defeat. Antonio Reeves (12.8 ppg), Oscar Tshiebwe (12.3), and Wallace (11.8) have led the Wildcats in scoring this season. Tshiebwe also has grabbed 10.6 rebounds per game, seventh-most in the nation. Meanwhile, Sahvir Wheeler is dishing 5.7 assists per game.
D’Moi Hodge and Brown have powered the Tigers on offense, averaging 16.7 and 14.4 points per game, respectively. Brown also has collected 5.7 rebounds per game. Nick Honor has distributed 3.4 assists per game.
The Tigers rank as one of the top scoring offenses in the nation, fourth-best with 88.8 points per game. In the last 10 games, Kentucky is 7-3 with an average margin of +12.6 (77.1-64.5). Missouri has gone 9-1 over the last 10, scoring 87.6 points per game on average while holding opponents to 72.0 (+15.6 margin).
