The No. 16 Auburn Tigers (14-3, 4-1 SEC), one of the nation’s top shooting defenses, head to face the LSU Tigers (12-5, 1-4 SEC) on Wednesday.
Auburn defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 69-63 at Neville Arena on Saturday, their third win in a row. Jaylin Williams led the way with 21 points and seven rebounds. Auburn are third in the Southeastern Conference.
LSU dropped their fourth in a row in blowout fashion on Saturday at Coleman Coliseum, falling to the Alabama Crimson Tide 106-66. KJ Williams and Cam Hayes scored 10 points each to lead the team in scoring in defeat. LSU are 12th in the Southeastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Auburn triumphed in the only game between the teams last season 70-55 at Neville Arena in December 2021. Walker Kessler led Auburn with a triple double, totaling 16 points, 11 blocks, and 10 rebounds. Xavier Pinson had 13 points in the loss.
Wendell Green Jr. and Johni Broome, averaging 13.6 and 12.1 points per game, respectively, have led Auburn in scoring this season. Broome also has grabbed 8.1 rebounds per game, while Green Jr. has dished 3.8 assists per game. Williams’ 18.0 points per game have powered LSU on offense.
