#9 Duke @ #18 Michigan State – 7pm ET

Tony Battalio

The Duke Blue Devils come into this game looking to bounce back from their loss to Arizona in their previous contest as they look to take down a top ten team in the country in Michigan State. Despite the loss and their previous contest, Duke still has plenty of talent and potential to make a deep tournament run this season and they can excuse a loss to one of the top teams in college basketball early on in the year like this. All that matters is they find a way to bounce back in this game against Michigan State on Tuesday night against the Spartans’s team that has had some struggles of their own throughout the early part of the year. Duke will be looking to get back to their season opening performance against Dartmouth where they blew them out and picked up a comfortable victory and that is what Duke would like to do here on Tuesday night against Michigan State as well. This will be one of the toughest tests of the season for Duke so far and they will be looking to pass all these early season tests to further cement their status as a top ten team in the nation.

This is an early season measuring game for Michigan State here on Tuesday night against Duke. This is a program that likely expected to be undefeated coming into this game on Tuesday night in their third contest of the season. However, they were upset by James Madison in their season opener, but at least Michigan State was able to bounce back in a big way in their previous game to build some momentum coming into this one. Michigan State will be looking for an early season statement. Victory against one of the top teams in the country here on Tuesday night as they look too cement their status as one of the top teams in the nation this season. They will also be looking to show people that they still deserve to be considered among the elite this season despite their loss of James Madison to open up the year. I expect this to be one of the best games of the evening, but in the end, I do think Duke comes out on top against Michigan State here in this one.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Duke (-165)

#4 Marquette @ #23 Illinois – 8pm ET

Tony Battalio

Marquette comes into this game looking to pick up a solid victory over a respectable power five program here on Tuesday night in Champaign. This is an opportunity for Marquette to establish themselves early on in the season and show people that they are worthy of their top five ranking to open up the year as well. The Marquette Golden Eagles are off to a respectable start throughout their first two games of the season as they come into this one undefeated, looking to pick up their third victory of the year. They are the favorites in the Big East conference this season, and it will be a very competitive conference this year so these early season measuring stick games are important to show other teams within the conference just how solid you are. Marquette will be looking to head to Illinois and handle business in this one as they look to get a solid victory here on Tuesday night to keep the momentum rolling early on in the season.

Illinois is also off to a pretty solid start this season and they will be looking for a marquee résumé or the victory early on in the year here on Tuesday night at home. They will be playing in a very crowded conference, this season, and a massive résumé building victory. Like this one here on Tuesday night would provide them with a huge momentum boost heading into the remainder of November. They have picked up a pair of comfortable victories to open up the season and they will be looking to grab a third consecutive victory in one of their toughest tests of the year here on Tuesday night against Marquette. They will need to spread the love around on the offensive end of the court to find long-term success this season. Coming  into this game they only have one double digit scorer on the roster and that is something that would likely have to change once they step up in competition throughout the year. I expect this to be a quality game here on Tuesday, but in the end I do look for Marquette to pull out the victory over Illinois.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Marquette (+105)

#13 Texas A&M @ SMU – 8pm ET

Tony Battalio

Texas A&M comes into this game looking to get a solid victory early on in the season against a formidable SMU team. They come into this game ranked right in the middle of the initial top 25 rankings, and they will be looking to move up the rankings throughout the year by stringing together quality performances, and picking up victories. They have an opportunity to pick up a decent victory here on Tuesday night on the road as they look to remain undefeated early on in the regular season. They are coming off of a solid victory over Ohio State and their previous game and they will be looking to build on that and grab a third consecutive victory to open up the season here on Tuesday night on the road in Dallas. They have been doing it consistently as a team as they have four double digit scores throughout their first two games, and they will be looking to record another consistent performance and pick up another victory here in this one as well. They will need to maintain that consistency here in this game to get the victory over a tough SMU team early on in the season.

SMU comes into this game looking to grab a top 25 upset and give themselves a résumé building victory early on in the season. They have the advantage of being at home in this game and they will be looking to take full advantage of that and take Texas A&M down to the wire and beat them here on Tuesday night in Dallas. SMU was a solid middle of the pack program, and they should be competitive within the American Athletic Conference this season, and they will be looking to put the rest of the conference on notice with a victory here in this one on Tuesday. They come into this game undefeated with three victories on the season and they will be looking for a fourth consecutive victory to open up the year here on Tuesday night at home against a solid power five program. Not only have they picked up three consecutive victories to open up the year but they have been doing it in solid fashion as they have recorded three consecutive double digit victories this season. Unfortunately for them I don’t see a fourth straight coming as I look for Texas A&M to grab the victory on the road.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Texas A&M -6.5 (-110)

#1 Kansas @ #17 Kentucky – 9:30pm ET

Tony Battalio

The Kansas Jayhawks come into this game as the number one team in the country and they will be looking to further cement that status with a victory over a fellow blueblood here on Tuesday night. Kansas has been the cream of the crop in college basketball over the last couple of seasons, when it comes to comparisons between them and Kentucky, and they will be looking to put some more distance between themselves and the Wildcats with another victory over Kentucky here in this one on Tuesday night. They are off to a fantastic start this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here in this one in this classic that is becoming one of the most anticipated events in the early college basketball season each and every year. Kansas has opened up the year with a pair of back-to-back comfortable victories, and they will be looking to pass their first test of the season here on Tuesday night against Kentucky as well.

The Kentucky Wildcats come into this game, ranked in the middle of the pack in the initial preseason rankings, which has been one of their lowest rankings to start the season in a very long time. They will be looking to jot themselves up the rankings with a marquee victory here on Tuesday night against the number one team in the country. As they look to put themselves back on the map and show the college basketball world that they are still a force to be reckoned with. As long as John Calipari is around Kentucky will likely always be considered a national title contender despite the fact that they started the season ranked in the middle of the top 25 rankings. They come into this game undefeated through their first two games of the season and they will be looking to pick up a massive victory here in their third game, in their first test of the regular season so far. I expect this to be a back-and-forth competitive contest between these two solid teams but in the end I do look for Kansas to pull out the victory.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Kansas -6.5 (-110)

Iowa @ #8 Creighton – 10pm ET

Tony Battalio

Iowa comes into this game with an opportunity to get a top 10 win in the country early on this season, and potentially put themselves inside of the top 25 when the next rankings come out as well. Iowa has been a model of consistency for the Big Ten over the last several seasons, and they will be looking to maintain that role this season with a quality performance here on Tuesday night on the road against Creighton. This is an opportunity to get them an early season résumé building victory over one of the best teams in the nation, and a massive momentum boost that could benefit them throughout the remainder of the year as well. Iowa comes into this game undefeated after picking up a pair of back-to-back comfortable victories to open up the season, and they will be looking to pass a major test early on in the season with a victory here in this one as well. They will need to find a way to shut down Trey Alexander if they want to grab a victory over Creighton here in this one.

Creighton is off to a fast start this season, and they look every bit of the number eight team in the country throughout their first couple of games of the year. They will be looking for a third consecutive victory here on Tuesday night at home against the Iowa Hawkeyes, as they look to further establish themselves as a force and a potential national championship contender this season. An early season victory over Iowa could end up being a solid résumé builder for this Creighton team if they somehow do not win the Big East conference tournament and get themselves an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament this season. They will be playing in one of the deepest conferences in the country this season so every win along the way will be magnified and a victory in this one would go a long way if Iowa is consistent and successful this season. Trey Alexander has been absolutely unstoppable throughout their first two games, and he will be looking to lead them to a third consecutive victory here in this one. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Creighton to grab the win here on Tuesday night at home.

SportsTips’ NCAAB Pick:

Creighton -10.5 (-110)
