The Creighton Bluejays (20-11, 14-6 Big East) take on the Villanova Wildcats (17-15, 11-10 Big East) Thursday at Madison Square Garden in the quarterfinals of the Big East Conference Tourney. Villanova dismantled the Georgetown Hoyas 80-48 at Madison Square Garden yesterday in the first round.
Cam Whitmore had a standout performance with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Creighton found victory on Saturday at Wintrust Arena, beating the DePaul Blue Demons 84-70 to close out their regular season. Trey Alexander had 21 points and six rebounds, carrying the team.
Villanova and Creighton split their two matchups this season. The Wildcats earned the win in the last meeting, beating the Bluejays 79-67 at Wells Fargo Center on February 25. Eric Dixon led the Wildcats with 31 points. Arthur Kaluma had 19 points in defeat.
