The No. 14 Arizona Wildcats (2-0) play host to the Utah Tech Trailblazers (1-2) Thursday at McKale Memorial Center. Utah Tech dropped their last game against the Washington Huskies 78-67 at Alaska Airlines Arena on Monday.
Tanner Christensen was the key player in the losing effort with 26 points. Arizona were victorious on Friday at McKale Memorial Center, beating the Southern University Jaguars 95-78. Oumar Ballo had 17 points and five blocks to lead the team.
Christensen and Cameron Gooden, averaging 14.0 and 14.0 points per game, respectively, have led the Trailblazers in scoring so far this season. Christensen also has grabbed 7.7 rebounds per game, while Gooden has dished 2.7 assists per game.
Azuolas Tubelis (20.0 ppg) and Ballo (17.5) have supplied much of the Wildcats’ offense. Ballo also has pulled down 8.5 rebounds per game. Kerr Kriisa has doled out 9.5 assists per game.
