Philadelphia Flyers @ Washington Capitals – 12:00 PM ET

Philadelphia lost to Boston on Friday, 2-1. Brian Elliott was solid in net, stopping 21 of 23 shots, but was simply outdueled by Tuukka Rask. The loss dropped Philadelphia to 7-3-2, second in the East Division.

They have scored 39 goals while allowing 37. Despite the loss, Elliott has clearly been the better of the two netminders, posting a 2.19 GAA and a .929 save percentage.

He has started four of the teams 12 games with Carter Hart (3.42, .898) getting the majority of the work. Philadelphia is led in scoring by James van Riemsdyk with 16 points.

Washington also dropped their two contests this week, losing to Boston on Monday, 5-3 before falling to the New York Rangers on Thursday, 4-2. Washington is now 6-2-3, third in the East. They have scored 40 goals while allowing 38.

The Capitals are 4-1-1 at home this season. Vitek Vanecek will likely be between the pipes on Sunday. He has a 2.95 GAA and a .911 save percentage. Nicklas Backstrom leads the team in scoring with 14 points.

NHL Pick – Washington Capitals (-112)
Spread Pick – Washington Capitals -1.5 (+189)
Total Goals Pick – Over 6.0 (-105)

Los Angeles Kings @ Vegas Golden Knights – 3:00 PM ET

Vegas defeated Los Angeles on Friday, 5-2. That dropped the Kings to 3-5-2, last in the West Division. They have scored 28 goals while allowing 34. The team is 2-3-0 on the road this season.

The loss was the third straight for Los Angeles. Goaltender Jonathan Quick was lit up by Vegas, giving up four goals on 10 shots before being pulled from the contest. That will likely mean that Calvin Petersen will be in goal on Sunday.

Petersen has clearly been the better of the two, posting a 2.19 GAA and a .935 save percentage. He is likely not going to get much support from his offense. Anze Kopitar leads the team with 13 points but no one has more than four goals this season.

With the victory, Vegas has now recorded points and three straight games (2-0-1). Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 27 of 29 shots in the game and William Karlsson and Nicolas Hague each had a goal and two assists. The Golden Knights are 6-1-1, third in the division but have played three less games than the two teams above them.

They have scored 28 goals while allowing 19. The team is 5-0-1 at home. Because Vegas has been splitting the goaltending duties, it is likely that Robin Lehner (2.95, .885) will be between the pipes. Mark Stone leads the team in scoring with 13 points.

NHL Pick – Vegas Golden Knights (-250)
Spread Pick – Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 (-136)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-115)

Chicago Blackhawks @ Dallas Stars – 3:00 PM ET

Chicago pulled out a huge victory over Carolina on Thursday, 6-4. The Blackhawks took full advantage of goaltender James Reimer, scoring five goals on just 34 shots. Sebastian Aho was listed as questionable for this contest but played and recorded a goal and an assist.

Chicago is now 4-4-4 with 35 goals scored and 39 allowed. They are 0-3-3 on the road the season. Kevin Lankinen gave up four goals to the Hurricanes, but will likely be in net for this contest. He has a 2.32 GAA and a .928 save percentage. Patrick Kane leads the team in scoring with six goals, nine assists, and 15 points.

Dallas lost to Columbus on Thursday, 4-3. That dropped the Stars to 5-2-1. They have scored 32 goals while allowing 21. There is serious concern in Dallas, as the team won their first four games of the season but are 1-2-1 since. Anton Khudobin has been mediocre of late.

He still has a solid 2.51 GAA and a .908 save percentage but has allowed 11 total goals in his last three starts. The Stars are led in scoring by Joe Pavelski, who has 15 points in eight games. Alexander Radulov (11) and John Klingberg (10) each have double-digit points as well.

NHL Pick – Dallas Stars (-179)
Spread Pick – Dallas Stars -1.5 (+137)
Total Goals Pick – Under 5.5 (-105)

Detroit Red Wings @ Florida Panthers – 3:00 PM ET

Detroit lost to Tampa Bay on Friday, 3-1. That is the Red Wings eighth straight loss (0-6-2) dropping them to 2-8-2. They have scored 22 goals while allowing 43, giving them a -21 goal differential, the second worst in the NHL. Detroit has yet to earn the victory on the road the season and are 0-5-1.

Detroit has scored more than two goals just one time in their last eight games. Jonathan Bernier was hurt in his last start so Thomas Greiss (3.27, .892) is likely to see even more action. The Red Wings are led in scoring by Dylan Larkin with nine points.

Florida lost in overtime to Nashville on Thursday, but responded with a 2-1 victory on Friday. Chris Driedger was outstanding in net, stopping 24 of 25 shots. The victory moved to Florida to 6-0-2, leaving them as the only team in the NHL who has recorded at least one point in every game they have played this season.

Driedger has been outstanding this year with a 1.72 GAA and a .942 save percentage. The team has been splitting time between him and Sergei Bobrovsky (3.57, .881), but Driedger has been so much better that it would not be surprising if he simply took over the goaltending duties. Jonathan Huberdeau leads the team in scoring with 12 points.

NHL Pick – Florida Panthers (-227)
Spread Pick – Florida Panthers -1.5 (+111)
Total Goals Pick – Under 5.5 (+100)

Carolina Hurricanes @ Columbus Blue Jackets – 3:00 PM ET

Carolina suffered a minor upset on Thursday when they lost to the Chicago Blackhawks, 6-4. James Reimer gave up five goals, and the team is going to need much more out of him now that star netminder Petr Mrazek is out indefinitely.

The loss dropped the Hurricanes to 6-2-0. They have scored 26 goals while allowing 19. With the loss, Reimer now has a 2.75 GAA and a .900 save percentage. Carolina is led in scoring by Andrei Svenchnikov with six goals and nine points.

Columbus defeated Dallas on Thursday, 4-3. Jack Roslovi and Oliver Bjorkstrand each had a goal and an assist to lead the Blue Jackets. Columbus is now 5-4-3, third in the division. They have scored 31 goals while giving up 37.

Joonas Korpisalo earned the victory over Dallas, meaning it will likely be Elvis Merzlikins (2.76, .913) between the pipes in this contest. With the two points, Bjorkstrand now leads the team with 10 total points. He is the team leader and goals (4) and assists (6).

NHL Pick – Columbus Blue Jackets (+130)
Spread Pick – Columbus Blue Jackets +1.5 (-385)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-105)
