Tampa Bay Rays @ Toronto Blue Jays – 1:37PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays will be playing the fifth game of their five game weekend series in this one. In game one it was the Jays who picked up the win. In game number two the Jays got another win to take a two games to zero series lead. In game three the Rays bounced back and in game four the Rays added another win to even up the series.

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Rays fought back during Saturday’s doubleheader and won both games. Now the series finale on Sunday will determine who wins this epic five game series. The Rays instantly grabbed all the momentum from this weekend with their great performance in game one and game two on Saturday. Now they come into this finale with a record of 42-36 through their first 78 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The Toronto Blue Jays came into Saturday’s doubleheader with a huge opportunity to clinch the series in either game number one or two. However, they failed to do so and now find themselves going into Sunday’s finale on a two game losing streak and in danger of losing this five game weekend series as well. They come into this game with a record of 44-35 through their first 79 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Toronto Blue Jays (-135)

The Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays played a doubleheader on Saturday and it was not a good time for the home fans. Their Blue Jays lost both games and weren’t competitive in either of them against their divisional foes. Tampa was determined to turn things around after losing the first two games of the series and coming in on a four-game losing streak.

Now the series will be determined on Sunday afternoon and is a chance for the Rays to get within just a 0.5 game of the second-place Jays. This is a game where runs will be at a premium and I’m not scared to take the under. Shane Baz has only made four starts this season and has only given up more than 1 run once while Ross Stripling of Toronto has only given up over 3 runs in an outing once all season. Good ole-fashioned pitching duel in store for us on Sunday so take the under on a pretty reasonable number.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Under Runs (+100)

The Toronto Blue Jays are third in the AL East with a 44-35 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently 2-2 in the series against the Rays. The Blue Jays are 6th in the league scoring 4.83 runs per game and are ranked 20th with 4.47 allowed runs per game. Toronto will start Ross Stripling tonight who is 4-2 for the season with a 3.12 ERA. The Blue Jays have won 5 of the last 7 home games against teams with a winning record and 5 of the last 7 games against teams from the AL East.

The Tampa Bay Rays are fourth in the AL East with a 42-36 record. They have lost 4 of the last 6 games and are coming off two wins in the double-header yesterday against the Blue Jays. The Rays are 25th in the league scoring 4.12 runs per game and are ranked 5th in the league allowing 3.92 runs per game. Tampa Bay will start Shane Baz tonight who is 0-1 for the season with 3.38 ERA. The Rays lost 5 of the last 6 fifth games of a series and 7 of the last 9 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

Toronto Blue Jays (-135)

New York Yankees @ Cleveland Guardians – 1:40PM ET

The Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees will be playing game three of their three game weekend series in this one. In game one the New York Yankees got a huge win, and in game two the Yankees added a win to clinch the series win.

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees absolutely dominated the first two games of this three game weekend series. They won both games of a doubleheader by a combined score of 19-5. The Yankees continue to be the best team in Major League Baseball this season as they now come into this game with a record of 58-21 through their first 79 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently on a two game winning streak and have won seven out of their last ten games on the year.

The Cleveland Guardians are having a ton of trouble beating teams outside of their division so far this season. Their overall record when playing teams outside of the American League Central division is 22-25. They overall record on the season coming into this series finale is now 39-36 through their first 65 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. I have the Yankees completing the sweep here in game three.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

New York Yankees (-160)

Jeffery Thomas

The Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees played a doubleheader on Saturday to make up for the postponed game on Friday and the extra rest was great for the visitors. The Yankees came in and won both games by a combined score of 19-5 and pushed their win total all the way up to 58. The next closest team is the Houston Astros at 50 so the Yanks have really been dominating and have their eyes on a deep playoff run.

They’ll need to stay consistent and Sunday presents another opportunity for them to get a sweep. The Guardians will not make it easy however with Triston McKenzie on the mound for them, a very good pitcher at home. He’s only given up more than two runs in a home start once this year, but it was the last time out and it was 7 to the Twins. He’s a guy who is susceptible to giving up home runs and against this New York lineup that is a recipe for disaster. I expect them to crank a few out on McKenzie and deal him his second consecutive loss at Progressive Field.

New York Yankees (-160)

The Cleveland Guardians are second in the AL Central with a 39-36 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off back-to-back losses to the New York Yankees. Cleveland is 19th in the league scoring 4.43 runs per game and is ranked 19th in the league allowing 4.43 runs per game. The Guardians will start Triston McKenzie tonight who is 4-6 for the season with a 4.03 ERA. Cleveland has won 6 of the lastThe New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 58-21 record. They have won 6 of the last 7 games and are coming off two wins in the double-header yesterday against the Guardians. The Yankees are second in the league scoring 5.10 runs per game and are on top of the league allowing 3.02 runs per game. The Yankees will start Jordan Montgomery tonight who is 3-1 for the season with a 3.27 ERA. They have won 14 of the last 17 games against right-handed starter and 46 of the last 61 games against AL Central teams. 8 home games against left-handed starter and has lost 4 of the last 5 games against AL East teams.

Cleveland Guardians (+135)

Chicago White Sox @ San Francisco Giants – 4:05PM ET

The Chicago White Sox and San Francisco Giants will be playing the third and final game of their three game weekend series in this one. Chicago got the win in game one and in game two the White Sox added another win to clinch the series victory.

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox have gotten this three game series off to a fantastic start as they have won the first two games. Now they will be looking to pick up a three game sweep here in Sunday’s series finale. The White Sox had a lot of expectations coming into the season but they haven’t quite lived up to them. However, as the season closes in on the halfway point they are starting to heat up a bit. They come into this game with a record of 37-39 through their first 76 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently on a two game winning streak as well and have won four out of their last ten on the year.

The San Francisco Giants come into the series finale of this game looking to avoid being swept. They are having a solid season up until this point but ran into the Chicago White Sox at the wrong time. The Giants come into this game with a record of 40-36 through their first 76 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in third place in the National League West division. I’m going with the White Sox to secure the sweep in this one.

Jeffery Thomas

It’s been a perfect start to the month of July for the Chicago White Sox and looking good for the conclusion of this West Coast trip that will end on Sunday in San Francisco. The Sox beat the Giants 5-3 on Saturday and now have taken the first two games of this series and will look for their first sweep since a series against Detroit in the middle of June. Dylan Cease got the win, pitching 5 quality innings and only giving up one run, pushing his record on the year to 7-3. Chicago is still fighting their way back to .500 (37-39) and stretches of baseball like this can get them back and there and maybe even a shot at a Wild Card spot.

The Giants will be deploying a bullpen game in the finals against Lucas Giolito who hasn’t won a start since June 5. Of the four outings since that date he has given up less than 4 runs just once and he’s just not a reliable guy at the moment for the Sox rotation. The Giants are the better team and have only been swept twice this year so I’m expecting them to keep it that way and at least salvage one of these wins in front of their fans.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants are third in the NL West with a 40-36 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off back-to-back losses in the first two games of the series against the White Sox. The Giants are 7th in the league scoring 4.81 runs per game and are ranked 14th in the league allowing 4.31 runs per game. They will start John Brebbia tonight who is 3-1 for the season with a 2.70 ERA. San Francisco has won 14 of the last 19 interleague games against teams with a losing record and 16 of the last 23 games played on Sunday.

The Chicago White Sox are third in the AL Central with a 37-39 record. They have won 4 of the last 6 games and are coming off wins in the opening two games of the series against the Giants. The White Sox are 2nd in the league scoring 4.15 runs per game and 22nd in the league allowing 4.74 runs per game. Lucas Giolito will be the White Sox’ starting pitcher tonight who is 4-4 for the season with a 5.19 ERA. The White Sox have won the last 7 interleague games and 17 of the last 24 road games against right-handed starter.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

San Francisco Giants

San Diego Padres @ Los Angeles Dodgers – 4:10PM ET

The San Diego Padres and Los Angeles Dodgers will be playing the fourth game of their four game weekend series in this one. In game one it was the Dodgers who got the win. In game two the Dodgers added another win to clinch at least a share of the season series. I’m game number three. The Dodgers officially clinched the series with a win.

Tony Battalio

The San Diego Padres are coming into this game with a record of 46-34 through their first 80 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in second place of the National League West division at the moment. They are in a bit of a slump as they have lost three games in a row and will be trying to avoid being swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in Sunday’s series finale. They have won only three out of their last ten games on the year.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are on a roll at the moment as they have the opportunity to get the sweep in this huge inter-divisional four game series. They come into the game with a record of 49-28 through their first 77 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won their last four games on the year and have won seven of their last ten games on the year. As for the result of this one I am going with the Los Angeles Dodgers to get the win and secure the sweep.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

Los Angeles Dodgers (-190)

Jeffery Thomas

The Los Angeles Dodgers continued their dominance over their division rivals on Saturday with a 7-2 win over the San Diego Padres. They are now 5-1 on the season over the Padres as Tyler Anderson went 6.1 innings and only allowed one run in the victory. Going back even further into last season, LA has won 14 of their last 15 in this head-to-head and Sunday is a chance for their first four-game sweep of San Diego since 2009.

Standing in their way of that will be rookie pitcher Mackenzie Gore who has given up at least 6 runs in two of his last three games started. It’s safe to say he won’t be having a good time on the mound against this LA lineup and I have the Dodgers completing this sweep in blowout fashion with their veteran Clayton Kershaw on the mound.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (+110)

The Los Angeles Dodgers are second in the NL West with a 49-28 record. They have won the last 4 games including three against the Padres in this series. The Dodgers are ranked the best in the league scoring 5.13 runs per game and are second in the league allowing 3.30 runs per game. They will start Clayton Kershaw tonight who is 5-2 for the season with a 2.94 ERA. The Dodgers have won 5 of the last 6 fourth games of a series and 50 of the last 67 home games.

The San Diego Padres are second in the NL West with a 46-34 record. They have lost 6 of the last 7 games and have scored only 4 runs in the first three games of the series against the Dodgers which they all lost. The Padres are 13th in the league scoring 4.54 runs per game and are 5th in the league allowing 3.83 runs per game. San Diego will start MacKenzie Gore tonight who is 4-3 for the season with a 3.34 ERA. The Padres have won 10 of the last 12 games against left-handed starter and have lost the last 4 games against teams with a losing record.

Marko’s MLB Pick:

San Diego Padres (+155)

St.Louis Cardinals @ Philadelphia Phillies -7:08PM ET

The St.Louis Cardinals and Philadelphia Phillies will be playing the third  game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Phillies who got the win. In game number two the Cardinals bounced back to even up the series.

Tony Battalio

The St.Louis Cardinals had an electric start to their game on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies. They hit four homeruns in the first inning against the Phillies and that is something that has never been done before. The huge inning propelled the Cardinals to a 8-7 victory to even up this three game weekend series. The win also improves their record on the season to 44-36 through their first 80 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They pulled within a game back of the Brewers in the National League Central division as well.

The Phillies nearly fought all the way back from a historic first inning but ended up losing in the end. They now come into this game with a record of 41-38 through their first 79 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won five out of their last ten games on the year and are currently in third place of the National League East division. As for the result of this one I am going with the Cardinals to get the win and take the series as well.

Tony’s MLB Pick:

St.Louis Cardinals (+120)

Major League Baseball was founded over 140 years ago but the beauty of this game is there are still things that have never been done before. On Saturday, the St.Louis Cardinals were able to achieve something no other team had in the history of MLB in their 8-7 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies. In the first inning they connected on four consecutive home runs off starter Kyle Gibson, a feat that no team had ever done. It has been done 11 times before in other innings but never in the first and it got them off a great start in the ballgame.

The Phillies rallied though and eventually tied the game up in the sixth inning but Nolan Arenado went deep once again in the 9th to win the game for the Cards. This series is now tied heading into the finale and both teams are throwing their ace on the mound for Sunday’s game. With that being the case, we should not expect to see a lot of runs and for that reason I’m rolling with the under.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick:

Under Runs (-105)

The Philadelphia Phillies are third in the NL East with a 41-38 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently 2-2 in the series against the Cardinals. The Phillies are 3rd in the league scoring 4.88 runs per game and 16th in the league allowing 4.35 runs per game. Zach Wheeler will be the Phillies’ starter tonight who is 6-4 for the season with a 2.89 ERA. Philadelphia has won the last 4 third games of a series and 11 of the last 14 games against teams with a winning record.

The St. Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central with a 44-36 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 7-6 win last night in Philadelphia. The Cardinals are 4th in the league scoring 4.86 runs per game and are ranked 7th in the league allowing 3.99 runs per game. They will start Adam Wainwright tonight who is 6-5 for the season with a 3.07 ERA this season. The Cardinals have lost 5 of the last 7 games against a right-handed starter and 10 of the last 13 road games against teams with a winning record.

Philadelphia Phillies (-145)
