UFC Best Bets for UFC 270
Sat 22nd January 2022

The much anticipated UFC 270 is here and our UFC Best Bets have all of the coverage you need before getting in on the action this weekend.

We are looking at an absolutely stacked card for UFC 270, on January 22nd. As the Heavyweight and Flyweight titles are set to be defended on Saturday evening.

Read on below to find out UFC Best Bets for this weekend’s UFC 270!

Francis Ngannou vs Ciryl Gane (Heavyweight Title)

One of the most dominant Mixed Martial Artists of all time is set to defend his UFC World Heavyweight Championship against perhaps his best challenger yet. As Francis Ngannou is set to square off with Ciryl Gane in this highly anticipated UFC 270 matchup.

Francis Ngannou has been unstoppable as of late as he has won his last five fights dating all the way back to 2018. He is arguably the best fighter in the world at the moment. All five of those wins have come by either knockout or technical knockout. He avenged a loss to Stipe Miocic in his last fight, as he knocked him out in the second round to win the UFC Heavyweight Championship and the Performance Of The Night award. Which would end up being his third award in a row and fourth in his last five fights. Ngannou now comes into this bout with an overall record of 16-3 and will be looking for a sixth straight win, and sixth straight knockout to keep his nearly four year unbeaten run alive.

Ciryl Gane comes into this fight with an overall record of 10-0 as he has never been defeated inside of a professional Mixed Martial Arts fight. However, in this one he will face off with his biggest and best opponent yet as he looks to become UFC World Heavyweight Champion. He is also an unbeaten 13-0 kickboxer, so Ngannou will definitely have his hands full in this one. He is a very balanced fighter as 4 of his victories have come by knockout, 3 by submission, and 3 by decision. So he has proven that he is capable of going the distance, or submitting or finishing any opponent he comes across. In his last fight he did something Ngannou couldn’t, and that is knockout and beat Derrick Lewis. However, I do not think the hot streak will play well into the result of this fight and that is why I have Ngannou finishing Gane by knockout to retain the UFC World Heavyweight Champion at UFC 270. As Ngannou is just to hard to beat as his peak.

UFC Best Bet: Francis Ngannou (+122)

Method Of Victory: By Knockout (+145)

Brandon Moreno vs Deiveson Figueiredo (Flyweight Title)

Brandon Moreno will be making his first defense of his newly won UFC World Flyweight Championship at UFC 270 on Saturday night. He comes into this fight with a career overall record of 19-5-2 and is unbeaten in his last six fights with a record of 4-0-2 in that time span. His last loss came back in 2018 so with a win in this one he will likely cap off a four year unbeaten run and have a successful defense of his championship under his belt. This will be his third straight fight against Figueiredo after drawing the first one, and winning the second fight via a rear naked choke back in June of 2021 to capture the Flyweight Championship. He is a lot more likely to submit you than he is to knock you out as 11 of his 19 wins have come via the submission. He will be looking to cap off the trilogy between him and his opponent with a huge victory in this one and prove that he is here to stay in the Flyweight division.

His opponent in this one, Deiveson Figueiredo is no stranger to dominating wins of his own. The “God Of War” has a career Mixed Martial Arts record of 20-2-1 in 23 career fights. He is a former Flyweight champion and will be looking to regain his title from the very man who beat him for it 6 months ago in Las Vegas. Prior to his loss at UFC 263, he was on a six fight unbeaten streak and looked as dominant as ever. He is a balanced fighter having won 9 fights by knockout, 8 by submission and 3 by decision. However, as for the result of this fight I have him losing a second straight contest to Moreno, by submission once more as I look for him to once again lose and fail to recapture his UFC Flyweight Championship on Saturday at UFC 270.

UFC Best Bet: Brandon Moreno (-178)

Method Of Victory: By Submission (+300)

Cody Stamann vs Said Nurmagomedov (Bantamweight)

Cody Stamann comes into this fight with a record of 19-4-1 in 24 career fights. He isn’t the type of fighter to finish fights, as 11 of his 19 career fights have come via decision. However, he is still very capable of winning with a submission or knocking somebody out. He is coming off of a rough stretch of two straight losses so he will be desperate for a victory in this one. He will be looking to climb up the ranks of the Bantamweight division with a huge victory in this fight. If he loses a third straight fight, he may be in potential danger of being cut by the UFC, so look for him to try and pick up a win with a spectacular finish.

Nurmagomedov is 3-1 going into his fifth career UFC fight. Despite the last name being the same he is of no relation to the most dominant Mixed Martial Arts fighter of all time Khabib Nurmagomedov. He will be looking to end up with an 80% win rate through his first five UFC fights and potentially line himself up for a future Bantamweight championship match. Exactly 50% of his wins have come by knockout and submission, while the other 7 of his 14 wins have come via decision. As for the result of this fight I have Said Nurmagomedov picking up the victory by knockout.

UFC Best Bet: Said Nurmagomedov (-198)

Method Of Victory: By Knockout (+500)
