The greatest heavyweight fighter of all time, versus one of the most devastating knockout artists the sport has ever seen, the long awaited rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou is finally here, and it promises to blow their last bout out of the water.

Let’s break down the odds of this legendary matchup, and also take a look at the event’s second main event, between former champ, Tyron Woodley and future contender, Vicente Luque.

Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou

The last time these two met was back in 2018 in a one sided match that exposed all of the then Ngannou’s weaknesses, Miocic was the bookies underdog then, and he remains the bookies underdog now.

That is just the way that Stone Cold has lived his entire career, and he has consistently proven the bookies otherwise. Fanduel has Miocic coming in at +108 and Ngannou valued at -130, fairly similar to how they were valued last time they met.

A lot has changed since they first fought back at UFC 220, Miocic has only fought Daniel Cormier in 3 fights since, winning 2 of them.

Since Ngannou’s first loss to Miocic, and subsequent loss to Derrick Lewis, he has gone on to win 4 fights within the first round, less than 3 minutes of fighting. With his new team behind him, Ngannou appears to be more disciplined and determined to fill his potential.

There is no doubt that Ngannou has the knockout power to finish the fight IF he gets a good enough chance, but the fight is going to come down to how well he has prepared for Stipe’s inevitable takedowns and grappling.

When looking at the method of victory, the bookies are pretty certain that this one doesn’t make it past 5 rounds. FanDuel has Miocic to win by KO/TKO at +210, while a Ngannou KO/TKO is coming in at +100.

FanDuel Odds – Win
Stipe Miocic (+106)
Francis Ngannou (-124)

FanDuel Odds – Method of Victory
KO/TKO – Stipe Miocic (+210)
KO/TKO – Francis Ngannou (+100)

Tyron Woodley vs Vicente Luque

After the cancellation of the card’s second main event due to Alexander Volkanovski testing positive for COVID, the welterweight fight between Tyron Woodley and Vicente Luque will take its place.

A former champ desperate to prove he still deserves a spot amongst the UFC roster despite his bad run of results, versus a hungry, up and coming Luque, who has done well in his smaller fights, but often comes up short when given a big chance.

The bookies don’t like Woodley’s chances in this one at all, coming in at +210 for the win, while Luque is valued at -255. Both fighters have a lot to prove, and both are coming into this one having won just 2 of their last 5 outs.

Luque prefers to strike his opponents, and will be more than happy to trade blows, he has an incredibly strong chin which will be needed against a fighter like Woodley, who is known for his right hand.

A loss here for the ageing Woodley could spell the end of his time in the UFC, and if this fight were happening 3 years ago, he would be the clear favourite. However, he is coming off some big losses, and fought as recently as September when he picked up a shocking injury to the ribs against Colby Covington.

The bookmakers pick the most likely method of victory to be Vicente Luque by way of points at +135, followed by a KO/TKO win for Luque at +230. Luque will go heavy on the offensive and try to dictate the flow of the fight with constant blows, which is why the bookies believe a points decision is likely.

They have Woodley for points at +460, and KO/TKO at +500, which could be worth it considering his knockout power against a fighter who does allow himself to get hit a lot.

We want to say that Woodley will redeem himself here due to his former status, but the reality is he hasn’t looked the same for a while now, and could still be affected by his injury. Furthermore, Luque’s style of fighting is incredibly similar to the styles of the fighters that have caused Woodley so much trouble in his recent fights.

FanDuel Odds – Win
Tyron Woodley (+210)
Vicente Luque (-255)

FanDuel Odds – Method of Victory
Points: Tyron Woodley (+460)
Points: Vicente Luque (+135)
