UFC Best Bets For Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal

UFC Best Bets For Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal
Fri 18th December 2020

The fight was the co-main event, but it will be the official main event after the original headlining match between Leon Edwards and Khamzat Chimaev was postponed.

Here’s a look at the UFC best bets to see for the upcoming card. These include some appealing bets for many of the top fights.

Thompson vs. Neal

Geoff Neal is a +108 underdog, as he hasn’t competed since December of last year. He returned to his old job as a restaurant server due to being unable to get a fight scheduled, but he is returning to the octagon for this main event.

The Handz of Steel will be a great wager to consider, as Neal is a consistent knockout artist. He can complete knockouts through both head kicks and punches, plus he can use his Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills to take down an opponent.

Stephen Thompson also hasn’t fought in a year, but he is the -132 favorite. Thompson requires more time to neutralize his opponent, and he may not be ready for the onslaught that Neal will bring. Our UFC best bet is to stick with Geoff Neal for this main event.

Aldo vs. Vera

Marlon Vera is a +144 underdog in his bantamweight fight with Jose Aldo, who is the -178 favorite. We prefer Vera for this fight, as he has quickly got used to competing in the bantamweight division after being in the featherweight class for a while. He is consistent in knockouts and submissions, and his Brazilian jiu-jitsu capabilities will make him worth watching.

Jose Aldo also reached the bantamweight division after having held the UFC Featherweight Championship for a few years. But he hasn’t done well since moving to the bantamweight class. His last fight was in July when he was knocked out in the fifth round by Petr Yan.

Pereira vs. Williams

Michel Pereira has a -115 advantage over Khaos Williams at -105 in their welterweight bought. Pereira has more experience than Williams and is competing on less rest. Williams completed a thirty-second knockout over Abdul Razak Alhassan on November 14. It may be tough for Williams to get ready in time to fight a karate professional like Pereira.

Moraes vs. Font

Marlon Moraes will fight Rob Font in a bantamweight bout during UFC fight night. Moraes is one of the UFC best bets of the night at -142. Font has a +116 line.

While Font is a talented muay Thai fighter, Marlon Moraes is the better option. Magic Moraes has done well since entering the UFC after defending the WSOF Bantamweight Championship for a few years.

He won a decision over Jose Aldo last year, and he remains a strong submission force with his guillotine and rear-naked chokes. He last fought in October when he lost to Cory Sandhagen, but he hopes to return to the winner’s position.

Pettis vs. Morona

Anthony Pettis will be a useful choice for a parlay with a -230 line against Alex Morono in their welterweight fight. Showtime recently returned to the welterweight class after competing in the lightweight field for a while. He defeated Donald Cerrone in a unanimous decision in May in his return to welterweight.
