With UFC 255 less than one week away, it’s time to take a look at the best bets for next Saturday’s fight card.
Headlined by co-main event fights between flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo and challenger Alex Perez, as well as Valentina Shevchenko defending her title against Jennifer Maia.
Here are our best bets for UFC 255 next weekend:
Women’s Flyweight: Valentina Shevchenko (-1500) vs Jennifer Maia (+725)
With an 18-6-1 record, Jennifer Maia presents as a valiant challenger on paper when coming up against Valentina Shevchenko. However, bookmakers aren’t giving Maia a shot to defeat the champion with one of the most lopsided head to head markets for a main event fight. Shevchenko is the -1500 favourite to defend the Women’s Flyweight title for the fourth time, with Maia currently the +725 underdog.
Jennifer Maia has won nine of her last 11 fights with her most recent win coming against Joanne Calderwood in August. However, 50% of her 18 wins have come by decision.
With a 19-3 career record, 32-year-old Shevchenko has the edge over Maia anywhere this fight goes. With a significantly superior strike per minute average, strike accuracy and takedown average, the Peruvian is tough to bet against this weekend, with 86% of the moneyline wagers backing Shevchenko to win
Despite the lack of value, Shevchenko is the only betting option here, as she attempts to improve on her 8-2 UFC record, and further cement her status as one of the most dominant champions in the UFC.
UFC Best Bet: Valentina Shevchenko to WIN -1500

Men’s Flyweight: Deiveson Figueiredo (-300) vs Alex Perez (+230)
Deivison Figueiredo (19-1) won the UFC flyweight title back in July. For a flyweight, Figueiredo has incredible finishing ability, with 16 of his fights won by stoppage.
Alex Perez (24-5) is the No. 4 ranked flyweight in the UFC and with 29 professional fights at 28 years of age, Perez is one of the most experienced fighters in the flyweight division. Currently on a three-fight win streak, Perez is an enticing challenger at +230, however given Figueiredo’s terrific knockout power for this weight class, along with top-notch submission skills, Figueiredo to win at -300 is the best best for this main event fight.
UFC Best Bet: Deiveson Figueiredo WIN -300
