SportsTips’ Euro 2020 Group Stage Predictions – Matchday 3
Sun 20th June 2021

The Red Devils are looking to keep the ball rolling today and see out their so far perfect Group Stage run, while over in England the Brits still need to iron out the creases that have been holding them back from their potential.

Finland vs Belgium

Monday, June 21st, 3.00 PM EDT

With back to back wins under their belts this Belgian outfit are looking a pretty sure thing to progress past the group stages. Standing in their way is Finland, who got off to a good start with a rather fortuitous win against Denmark before losing 1-0 to Russia in the second.

Belgium have 5 goals to their name so far, the equal second most in the competition, with Romelu Lukaku bagging a brace in game 1, while in game 2, goals from Kevin Debruyne and Thorgan Hazard saw the Red Devils complete an epic comeback victory.

At the other end of the spectrum are Finland, who have struggled to find the back of the net and create chances at all, attempting just 12 shots with only 2 on target after two games.

After scoring just 1 goal in the competition Finland now face their toughest fixture yet against a Belgium side which moves the ball so well, will likely dominate possession and limit the Scandanivian sides offensive output.

It’s hard to bet against Belgium today, they looked a little sloppy in the opener half against Denmark, but they showed how devastating they can be going forward in the second and have looked elite for the rest of the competition.

Match Prediction: Belgium (-300)
Best Prop: Romelu Lukaku – Anytime Goalscorer (-150)

Czech Republic vs England

Tuesday, June 22nd, 3.00 PM EDT

England and the Czech Republic battle it out at Wembley today to determine who finishes atop group D. Both sides kicked off their tournament with a win and a clean sheet, but struggled to secure more than a point in the second, with the Czechs drawing 1-1 to Croatia while the Brits were kept goalless in a surprising 0-0 draw against Scotland.

It was a very poor result for England, who boast one of the most impressive squads in the tournament but have failed to click to the level they could be. They finished the game with 61% possession, however only managed to get one shot on target, marking Harry Kane’s second straight game without an attempt on goal.

The Czech Republic did well to claim a point against the 2018 World Cup winners, and they did so keeping pace with the Croatians, holding slightly more possession and taking the amount of shots. Patrik Schick, who was responsible for both Czech goals in game 1, was once again the scorer, converting from the spot to the lead in their 37th minute.

England have the home advantage again, and after their performance in the last game they will need to be good to win back the fans. They are the heavy favourites despite how the Czech republic have played, and it is a fixture they really should be winning if they want a chance to make a deep run in this tournament.

Match Prediction: England (-167
Best Prop: Under 2.5 Goals (-162)
