The 2021 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing! With just the one game on the agenda today we have had plenty of time to research the fixture in depth and bring you the absolute best predictions. Have a read below for all our NHL picks.
Montreal Canadiens @ Vegas Golden Knights (Semi Final – Game 1) – 9.00 PM EDT
The Canadiens and the Knights kick off the first game of their semi final clash in Vegas today, marking the 7th meeting between the two sides.
It is a fixture that has historically been dominated by the Habs, winning all but one of the six games, the majority of which saw plenty of goals and tight scorelines, with an average of 8 goals and 4 of the 6 decided by just a goal.
However, this time around the Knights may have the edge, coming into the series off the back of an impressive Round 2 showing against the season long Stanley Cup favourites, the Colorado Avalanche, winning in game 6 after at one point being down 2-0.
The points have been shared amongst the Knights roster, with 8 players picking up 7+ points, led by the reliable William Karlsson who has contributed 11 points while operating at a +/- of 7.

The Habs have enjoyed one of the most spectacular runs to get to this point, at one point on the brink of a playoff exit to the Maple Leafs, the Montreal side managed to come back with 3 straight wins before sweeping the Jets over four clinical performances.
With 7 straight wins under their belt the Habs have recorded the longest win streak of the playoffs, doing so without a single player picking up more than 4 goals and only 7 players operating at a positive +/- rating.
The Knights have the hosting duties and we are expecting that to play a huge factor in this one, the Vegas side have been very strong at home, often dictating the flow of the game and controlling the shooting, up against a Habs side which have not created a lot of offense this could be a problem.
