The 2021 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing! With just the one game on the agenda today we have had plenty of time to research the fixture in depth and bring you the absolute best predictions. Have a read below for all our NHL picks.
Vegas Golden Knights @ Montreal Canadiens (Semi Final – Game 3) – 8.00 PM EDT
Despite playing a more dominant game statistically, the Golden Knights were unable to back up their opening game performance on Wednesday, losing 3-2 to tie the series up at 1-1.
It was all Montreal right out the gate as the Habs buried the first goal just 6 minutes in, with Joel Armia finding the back of the net for his 8th point of the postseason. They continued to put the hurt on the Knights, with Tyler Toffoli tucking away his team leading 5th goal just 10 minutes later.
The second term went past quietly for the majority, but with only a couple minutes to play Paul Byron made it 3-0. The Knights got a glimmer of hope before calling an end to the term when Alex Pietrangelo scored, and 15 minutes into the final period he struck again to pull the deficit to just 1 goal.
However, through all their attempts the Vegas side were unable to beat Carey Price, who made 29 saves for the game to keep the Habs in front until the final whistle.

After 13 games played the Habs are the lowest ranked side of the teams remaining for goals per game and shots attempted, but their tight defensive setup has continued to impress and seen them pull off some big wins.
Now playing at home where they are on a 3 win streak it is somewhat surprising that they are coming in as such wide underdogs. While the Habs have not been a huge threat going forward, when they take the lead other teams have seriously struggled to break them down, and given how Marc-Andre Fleury has struggled in Montreal they look like a solid pick at the price.
