NHL Playoffs Round 2: Free NHL Picks Today for Sunday, June 6th, 2021
Sun 6th June 2021

The 2021 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are in full swing! With just the 2 games on the agenda today, we have had plenty of time this morning to research the fixtures in depth and bring you the absolute best predictions. Have a read below for all our NHL picks.

Winnipeg Jets @ Montreal Canadiens (Round 2 – Game 3) – 6.00 PM EDT

The Canadiens pulled off another massive win in Winnipeg, beating the Canadiens in a tight 1-0 to claim a 2-0 series lead before heading to Montreal for games’ 3 and 4.

After their 8 goal thriller in the opening game, the two sides were more subdued for Friday’s game, and the goaltending was at a much higher level, with Connor Hellebuyck allowing 1 goal from 24 attempts, while Carey Price saved all 30 shots that came his way for his first postseason shutout.

Tyler Toffoli scored the games’ one and only goal from a short handed position early in the second term. After an average start to his postseason, Toffoli has bagged 3 goals over his last 4 games, on top of 2 assists.

At one point down 3 games to 1 and playing for the series against the Maple Leafs, the Habs have now won 5 straight games and will now play the next two fixtures on home soil.

The Montreal side are coming in at -146 for the win, and after winning the last 2 games on the road we can’t imagine them returning to the Bell Centre to lose with the fans and momentum on their side.

Colorado Avalanche @ Vegas Golden Knights (Round 2 – Game 4) – 8.30 PM EDT

The Knights secured a crucial win against the Avalanche in Vegas on Friday, narrowly beating the division champions 3-2 to bring the series score to 2-1.

The Vegas side outshot the Avs more than 2 to 1, restricting them to just 20 attempts while sending 43 shots Phillipp Grubauer’s way. The Knights lacked the Avs’ efficiency in front of goal, finding themselves down 2-1 with just 6 minutes left in the game, but quickfire goals from Jonathan Marchessault and Max Pacioretty secured the late victory.

Pacioretty’s goal marked his second of the postseason, and since returning to the squad he has picked up a point per game from 4 games, proving how important he is to the side.

Carl Soderberg scored the Avs’ opening goal which was also his first of the playoffs, while Mikko Rantanen was responsible for the other, marking his 11th of a so far very successful playoff campaign.

The two go head to head for one more game in Vegas before the series moves back to Colorado, and given how strong the Avs have been at home it is a must win game for the Knights today.
