Boston Bruins @ New York Rangers – 12:00 PM ET

Boston lost to New York on Thursday, 6-2. It is therefore the loss in their last five games, and suddenly they find themselves tied with Washington for the top record in the East. The Bruins are 11-5-2 overall. Tuukka Rask was lit up by the Rangers, allowing six goals on 34 shots. He will get a chance to redeem himself on Sunday. Rask has a 2.86 GAA and a .892 save percentage in 11 starts. Boston got a goal and an assist from Brad Marchand, giving him 22 total points, tops on the team.

With the victory, the Rangers moved to 7-8-3. They are 3-1-0 in their last four games. Alexandar Georgiev stopped 31 of 33 shots in the victory. He now has a 2.81 GAA and a .901 save percentage in seven starts. Ryan Strome had a goal and added two assists in the victory over Boston. That moved him to 13 points, tied for second on the team in scoring. Chris Kreider scored his team-leading ninth goal of the season and now has 11 total points.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ Nashville Predators  – 3:00 PM ET

Columbus was shut out by Chicago on Thursday, 2-0. They have now lost three straight games and are 1-3-2 in their last six. The Blue Jackets are 8-8-5 overall. Joonas Korpisalo played well in the contest, stopping 25 of 26 shots. Joonas Korpisalo will get the start for Columbus. He has appeared in 15 games with a 3.37 GAA and a .890 save percentage. Columbus is led in scoring by Cam Atkinson and Oliver Bjorkstrand who each have 16 points.

Nashville lost to Detroit on Thursday, 5-2. The Predators are 8-11-0 with a -18 goal differential. It is likey that Pekka Rinne (2.52, .911) will go on Saturday so Juuse Saros (3.47, .882) will likely be in net on Sunday. After a rough patch, he has looked much better in his last two appearances, allowing three total goals. Mikael Granlund added his fourth goal of the season and now has nine points, tied for third on the team.

Philadelphia Flyers @ Buffalo Sabres – 3:00 PM ET

Philadelphia defeated New York on Wednesday, 4-3. Claude Giroux recorded three assists and Brian Elliott stopped 24 of 27 shots. The Flyers are now 9-4-3 and are 3-2-1 on the road. Philadelphia will start Brian Elliott. He has appeared in seven games with a 2.38 GAA and a .922 save percentage. Elliott has been exceptional this season, allowing three goals or less in every one of his seven appearances. He shut out Buffalo in his one start against them back on January 19. James van Riemsdyk recorded his team-leading ninth goal in the victory.

Buffalo lost in overtime to New Jersey on Thursday, 4-3. The Sabres are 6-8-3 overall and are 2-5-2 at home. The Sabres are 2-1-1 in their last four games. Sam Reinhart recorded his team-leading seventh goal in the loss. He is second on the team with 14 points. Carter Hutton will start for Buffalo. He has started five games that has a 3.24 GAA and a .889 save percentage.

Washington Capitals @ New Jersey Devils – 3:00 PM ET

Washington defeated Pittsburgh on Thursday, 5-2. They are now 4-1-1 over their last six games, moving them to 10-5-4 overall. After Pittsburgh delivered back-to-back goals to tie the score, Washington responded with three unanswered tallies for the victory. Nicklas Backstrom and Lars Eller each had a goal and an assist. Backstrom now leads the team with 24 points overall. Washington will start Ilya Samsonov. He has started two games with a 3.36 GAA and a .868 save percentage.

New Jersey defeated Buffalo in overtime on Thursday, 4-3. That snapped a three-game losing streak for the Devils. New Jersey is 7-6-2, but have not performed well at home this season at 2-4-1. Mackenzie Blackwood stopped 29 of 32 shots in the victory and Pavel Zacha scored a goal and added two assists. It will likely be Aaron Dell in net. He has made one start, allowing four goals on 41 shots in a loss to Washington on February 21. Zacha is now the team leader in points for New Jersey with 12.

Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Islanders – 5:00 PM ET

Pittsburgh lost to Washington on Thursday, 5-2. The Penguins are 10-7-1. The loss snapped their three-game winning streak. Casey DeSmith will be in goal for Pittsburgh on Sunday. He has appeared in six games this season with a 2.84 GAA and a .885 save percentage. DeSmith last appeared against New York on February 11 when he stopped 26 of 29 shots in the victory. Jake Guentzel scored his seventh goal of the season, tops on the Penguins. He also leads the team with 16 points.

New York dominated Boston on Thursday, 7-2. The Islanders are now 10-6-3 and are an impressive 6-0-1 at home. Semyon Varlamov stopped 34 of 36 shots in the victory. The Islanders will go with the seldom used Ilya Sorokin who has started four games, posting a 2.74 GAA and a .895 save percentage. Mathew Barzal and Anders Lee each had a goal and an assist. Barzal leads the team with 17 points while Lee leads New York in goals with nine.

Detroit Red Wings @ Chicago Blackhawks – 7:00 PM ET

Detroit defeated Nashville on Thursday, 5-2. The Red Wings are now 6-13-3 with a -24 goal differential, worst in the division. However, they are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games. Sam Gagner scored a hat trick in the victory over Nashville, his first three goals of the season. Bobby Ryan added two assists and is now tied for the team lead in points with 11. Thomas Griess will likely goal for Detroit. He has a 3.16 GAA and a .891 save percentage in 13 starts.

Chicago defeated Columbus on Thursday, 2-0. They finished their five-game road trip 4-1-0, giving the Blackhawks an 11-6-4 record. Malcolm Subban stopped all 26 shots he faced, and Patrick Kane scored the 399th goal of his career. Kane now has 31 points. He has been on fire of late, recording at least one in four straight games, nine points during that span. Subban will be in net on Sunday. He has a 2.13 GAA and a .930 save percentage in five starts
