Washington Capitals @ Pittsburgh Penguins – 3:00 PM ET
Since losing to Philadelphia last Sunday, 7-4, the Capitals have seen three straight games postponed. Washington are losers of three straight games, moving them to 6-3-3, third in the East Division.
They have scored 44 goals while allowing 45. It should be interesting to see how the long layoff affects this team. Washington is a veteran team, but it is still hard to stimulate game time action in practice.
The Capitals are led in scoring by Nicklas Backstrom with 17 points. He is the team leader and goals (6) and assists (11). Ilya Samsonov is expected to be between the pipes on Sunday. He has a 3.36 GAA and a .868 save percentage.
