Free NHL Picks Today for Monday, March 15th, 2021
Mon 15th March 2021

It was another great day yesterday, recording 13/18 NHL picks for some big profits. We’ve got 10 games on today with some huge matchups in the mix, have a read through below to find out our experts predictions.

Nashville Predators @ Tampa Bay Lightning – 4.00PM EDT

The Predators and the Lightning will do battle again in Tampa today, the final game of their 2 match series, of which the Lightning convincingly won the first leg 6-3.

It was the third straight loss for the Predators as they meet the midpoint of a tough run of fixtures away from home against some of the division’s strongest teams.

They went down early, conceding 4 goals to 1 in the first two terms of the game, but goals from Alexandre Carrier and Erik Haula early in the third put them back in it momentarily, unfortunately the Lightning weren’t finished, scoring 2 more goals to put the game to bed.

It was the 4th time the Predators have conceded more than 5 goals this season, averaging 3.43 goals against per game, the third worst in the league.

The Lightning welcomed back fans for this first time this season, putting on quite a show for them with a 6 goal performance to pick up their 8th win from the last 10 games.

It was a real team performance from the Lightning, with the goals being distributed amongst the team evenly and no player scoring more than 1.

It was Blake Coleman that buried the goal to give them some reassurance midway through the final term, his second point for the game.

NHL Pick – Tampa Bay Lightning (-312)
Spread Pick – Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (-120)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-111)

Washington Capitals @ Buffalo Sabres – 7.00PM EDT

The Capitals got another big win over the Flyers on Saturday, winning 5-4 to claim all 3 games of their 3 match series in Philadelphia, bringing their record on the road to 9-3-2.

It was the 4th win in a row for the Caps who also played the Devils in between games in Philadelphia, they remain in second place, just two points behind the Islanders on the East table.

The goals were shared around as the Capitals bagged 5 for the third game in a row, they are 3rd in the league for goals scored per game, averaging 3.41 per game, however they are the only team in the top 8 who average more than 3 goals conceded per game.

The Sabres misery continued, losing their 10th consecutive game with another measly performance against the Pittsburgh Penguins, the 3-0 defeat marks the 5th time they have been shutout this season.

It is the Sabres fourth longest losing streak, and they are now just 4 losses away from their franchise high 14 game loss streak back in the 2014/15 campaign.

The Sabres and the Capitals have met on 5 occasions this season, the Sabres have won just one of those meetings, they will welcome them to the KeyBank Center, where they are currently 0-7-1.

NHL Pick – Washington Capitals (-227)
Spread Pick – Washington Capitals -1.5 (+115)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-147)

Chicago Blackhawks @ Florida Panthers – 7.00PM EDT

The Blackhawks and Panthers met in Florida on Saturday for the first game of their 2 match series, the Panthers went down 1-0 early in the second term before scoring the next 4 goals to guide themselves to a comfortable victory.

It was a day of three’s for the Panthers, their third win from 3 games against the Blackhawks, their 3rd consecutive league win, and they now sit in 3rd place on the Central Division table just 1 point from the top.

Aleksander Barkov is now tied in first for goals scored following a 2 goal performance on Saturday, he also provided the assist for the Panthers to take the lead in the 2nd term.

It was the Blackhawks 5th loss from their last 10 games, they have cemented themselves as a mid table team this season, currently sitting in 4th place on the table, 4 points from 5th and 7 points from 3rd.

Of their 14 wins this season, 12 of them have come from games played against the 4 teams below them on the table, while they have struggled to perform against the division’s best with just 2 wins from 11 games against the top 3.

NHL Pick – Florida Panthers (-175)
Spread Pick – Florida Panthers -1.5 (+140)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-151)

Philadelphia Flyers @ New York Rangers – 7.00PM EDT

The Flyers lost back to back games to the Washington Capitals in a disappointing homestand for the Philadelphia side, losing 3 of their last 4 games.

They now sit in 5th place, 3 points off a playoff position ahead of 2 games with the Rangers who are 4 points behind the Flyers, making for a very important series for both sides.

The two teams have met on two occasions this season, both times in Philadelphia, with both teams winning a game each.

The Rangers will head into this match with a bit of confidence having beaten the Bruins on Saturday to put an end to their 3 match losing streak.

After losing to them 4-0 just two days earlier, the Rangers flipped the script on Saturday with a 4-0 victory, the second time this season that they have shut out a team after being shut out by the same team in the previous game.

Pavel Buchnevich and Chris Kreider both picked up a goal and an assist in the victory, and Artemi Panarin made a beautiful assist in his emphatic return to the team following his strange time off.

NHL Pick – New York Rangers (-105)
Spread Pick – New York Rangers +1.5 (-243)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.0 (-140)

Vancouver Canucks @ Ottawa Senators – 7.00PM EDT

The Canucks picked up their 4th win from their last 5 games on Saturday with a big 2-1 victory over the 3rd place Edmonton Oilers.

The game was all tied up in the third term before defenseman, Tyler Myers, broke the deadlock 10 minutes in to put the Canucks ahead. The goal was just Myers’ 84th over 13 seasons, and his 14th game winner.

The players were all over Thatcher Demko at the end of the game, having made 34 saves for the game much of the credit is owed to him for the impressive win.

The Canucks will now travel to Ottawa to face the Senators for the first time since January, the Canucks have won all 3 meetings between the teams this season, and will be playing with an extra days rest.

It’s not just the Canucks coming into the game off the back of a big win, the Senators took 2 points from the 1st place Maple Leafs yesterday to break a 3 match loss streak.

They took advantage of a fatigued Maple Leafs side who were playing in back to back games, winning 4-3 with a nonetheless impressive performance.

The Senators went into the second term 2-1 up before Drake Batherson scored 2 goals in the space of a minute to give them a 3 goal cushion.

NHL Pick – Vancouver Canucks (-175)
Spread Pick – Vancouver Canucks -1.5 (+135)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-172)

Boston Bruins @ Pittsburgh Penguins – 7.00PM EDT

The Bruins were shutout for the second time this season by the Rangers on Saturday, the loss came as quite a surprise considering they had beaten the Rangers 4-0 just days before.

The Bruins haven’t been able to capture their form from the start of the season where they won a stellar 9 from their opening 10 games, failing to string together more than one win in the 12 games that followed.

After making 27 shots and putting 4 past the Rangers last Thursday, the Bruins barely challenged the goalie on Saturday, making just 18 shots for the game.

It will be interesting to see how this match today plays out as the Bruins and the Penguins have not met since the start of the season when the Bruins were in the midst of their winning streak.

The Penguins good form continued on Saturday with a 3-0 victory over the Buffalo Sabres, the win marked their 5th straight, and helps them maintain pace with the two teams above them.

Kris Letang had a hand in 2 of the goals, while scoring leaders, Sidney Crosbey and Jake Guentzel both added a goal to their tally of 10 for the season.

Having won 5 on the trot, the Penguins will be eager to exact some revenge on the Bruins in Pittsburgh, where their home record is 11-2-0 for the season

NHL Pick – Pittsburgh Penguins (-105)
Spread Pick – Pittsburgh Penguins +1.5 (-250)
Total Goals Pick – Under 5.5 (-111)

Montreal Canadiens @ Winnipeg Jets – 8.00PM EDT

The Canadiens were swept by the Flames over 2 games in Calgary, losing the most recent game on Saturday 3-1.

It was another blow to the Canadiens who have gone through a slump of late, losing 7 of their last 10 games, the worst of any team in the largely competitive North Division.

They still sit in 4th place on the table but won’t be looking forward to two games in Winnipeg having been beaten there twice already this season, although their most recent game against the Jets was a 7-1 victory in Montreal.

It was a different story for the Jets in Toronto, as they took down their series with the Maple Leafs 2 games to 1, winning the most recent game by a convincing 5-2 scoreline.

The game was all tied up 2-2 7 minutes into the final term when Adam Lowry broke the deadlock with a goal, Mark Appleton provided the assist on top of scoring the first goal of the game.

In contrast to the Canadiens, it was the Jets 7th win from their last 10 games, the best amongst all the teams in the division, and enough to move them up to 2nd on the table.

NHL Pick – Winnipeg Jets (+100)
Spread Pick – Winnipeg Jets +1.5 (-238)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-125)

Edmonton Oilers @ Calgary Flames – 9.00PM EDT

The Oilers had their 4 win streak halted by the Canucks on Saturday, their first loss to them since the opening game of the season.

With the loss, the Oilers missed a chance to move to second on the North table, however they will be looking to take the maximum points off the Flames, who they have beaten 3 games to 1 this year.

There were no surprises on the scoresheet for the Oilers, as Connor McDavid assisted Leon Draisaitl for an all too familiar goal, but the Oilers could only find the back of the net with 1 of their 35 shots, losing 2-1.

The Flames made it 2 in a row against the Canadiens on Saturday for just their third 2 game win streak of the season, the wins are massive for the Flames who were starting to slip away from a playoff position.

Sean Monahan scored back to back goals in the first term to put the Flames ahead, and after a goal early in the second it was pretty smooth sailing for them.

NHL Pick – Edmonton Oilers (-111)
Spread Pick – Calgary Flames +1.5 (-263)
Total Goals Pick – Under 6.5 (-135)

St Louis Blues @ Los Angeles Kings – 10.00PM EDT

The Blues continued their descent down the table by losing their 4th consecutive game, the most recent of which was a painful 5-1 defeat to the Golden Knights.

The Blues went down 2-0 down early in the final term before pulling one back and looking like they might claw their way back in, however, the Golden Knights went on to score 3 unanswered goals to claim the sweep.

It was their 10th defeat from 14 games at home this season, the road has been a different story for the Blues, going 10-2-2 this season. They will be keen to bounce back from this form slump, and the Kings could be the perfect chance to do that as they are playing back to back games.

The Kings have had the Blues number this season though, winning 4 of the 6 games they have played, including the most recent.

The Kings wrapped up a 4 game road trip with 2 consecutive defeats to the Avalanche, losing yesterday 4-1.

They didn’t look good out the gate, making just 4 shots to the Avs 20 in the first term and going down 3 goals before they could score their first.

Following their road trip, the Kings will play the next 4 games at home, hosting the Blues and the Golden Knights, they are 4-3-4 from home games this season.

NHL Pick – St Louis Blues (-147)
Spread Pick – St Louis Blues -1.5 (+170)
Total Goals Pick – Under 5.5 (-116)

San Jose Sharks @ Vegas Golden Knights – 10PM EDT

The Sharks picked up their third win on the trot on Saturday, beating the Ducks 3-1, it was the second game of a 2 match series in Anaheim, winning the first 6-0.

The Sharks were bottom of the West Division table before their first game with the Ducks, they now sit just 3 points from 5th following their series sweep.

The points were spread amongst the team evenly on Saturday, with no player recording more than a single point, Evander Kane extended his goal streak to 3 games and now leads the Sharks for points.

A dominant performance from the Golden Knights over the Blues sees them take home the road trip series in 2, and helps them maintain their lead on the table following disappointing results to the Wild.

Max Pacioretty led the scoring, scoring a goal and assisting two more, while season point leader, Mark Stone added 2 goals to his tally.

Unbeaten from 3 games so far this season, the Knights will be licking their lips for 2 home games with the second to last place Sharks.

NHL Pick – Vegas Golden Knights (-250)
Spread Pick – Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 (-105)
Total Goals Pick – Under 6.5 (-125)
