Boston Bruins @ Philadelphia Flyers – 7:00 PM ET

With two victories already this week, Boston is 6-0-1 over their last seven games. They defeated Washington on Monday, 5-3, and then defeated Philadelphia in overtime on Wednesday, 4-3.

Now they have a rematch with the Flyers on Friday. Boston is tied for the top record in the East Division with Philadelphia at 7-1-2. They have scored 34 goals while allowing 23, A+ 11 goal differential, tops in the division.

The Bruins are 3-1-2 on the road. Boston is getting outstanding goaltending, starting with Jaroslav Halak who has a 1.72 GAA and a .923 save percentage. Tuukka Rask has been nearly as good at 2.57 GAA and a .888 save percentage. Patrice Bergeron leads the team in scoring with 15 points and he is tied for the team lead in goals with six.

With the overtime loss to Boston on Wednesday, Philadelphia still earned a point, moving them to 7-2-2. They have scored 38 goals while allowing 35. The Flyers are now 5-1-1 at home this season. They are getting quality goaltending out of Brian Elliott who has a 2.22 GAA and a .932 save percentage.

However, he is the backup goalie. Carter Hart has been in net for eight of the team’s 12 games and has not looked good, posting a 3.42 GAA and a .898 save percentage. James van Riemsdyk leads the team with 15 points and Kevin Hayes and Joel Farabee lead the team with six goals each.

NHL Pick – Boston Bruins (-135)
Spread Pick – Philadelphia Flyers +1.5 (-312)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-110)

Detroit Red Wings @ Tampa Bay Lightning – 7:00 PM ET

It is a rematch of the top team in the Central Division against the bottom team. The Detroit Red Wings lost to Tampa Bay on Wednesday, 5-1. That moved Detroit to 2-7-2. They have scored 21 goals while allowing 40. The -19 goal differential is the second worst in the NHL and the 40 goals allowed are the fourth most.

The goaltending pair of Thomas Greiss (3.46) and Jonathan Bernier (3.54) are getting very little assistance, and that is a big reason why they have allowed so many goals this season. Dylan Larkin leads the team in points with nine.

The victory was the third in a row for the Lightning. They have the top record in the Central Division at 6-1-1. They have scored 29 goals while allowing 17, giving them a + 12 goal differential, tied for the top mark in the division.

The victory on Wednesday moved Tampa Bay to 5-0-0 at home this season. The Lightning are getting outstanding goaltending out of Andrei Vasilevskiy, who has started all eight games. The Tampa Bay netminder has a 1.99 GAA and a .927 save percentage. Steven Stamkos and Victor Hedman are tied for the team lead in points with 10.

NHL Pick – Tampa Bay Lightning (-345)
Spread Pick – Tampa Bay Lightning -1.5 (-119)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-115)

Nashville Predators @ Florida Panthers – 7:00 PM ET

These two teams play each other Thursday night. This review was written prior to the conclusion of that game. Nashville lost to Tampa Bay on Monday, losing to the Lightning for the second straight time. That dropped the Predators to 4-5-0, seventh in the division.

They have scored 22 goals while allowing 29. Juuse Saros (2.82, .908) and Pekka Rinne (3.31, .869) have been solid in net, although Saros has been the better of the two. Nashville is having difficulty scoring goals. Filip Forsberg and Viktor Arvidsson are tied for the team lead in points with six.

Florida has been off since defeating Detroit in back-to-back nights last weekend, winning both games 3-2. That moved the Panthers to 5-0-1, the only team in the NHL to have recorded at least one point in every game this season. Florida has scored 22 goals while allowing 16.

They are getting solid goaltending out of the combo of Chris Driedger (1.95, .937) and Sergei Bobrovsky (2.87, .894). Florida is led in scoring by four players who each have seven points. That includes Patric Hornqvist and Carter Verhaeghe who each have five goals and two assists.

NHL Pick – Florida Panthers (-125)
Spread Pick – Florida Panthers -1.5 (+190)
Total Goals Pick – Under 5.5 (-110)

Los Angeles Kings @ Vegas Golden Knights – 10:00 PM ET

Los Angeles is coming off a 3-1 loss against Anaheim, their second straight defeat. Calvin Petersen started in goal and was spectacular, stopping 40 of 42 shots. The Kings are now 3-4-2, sixth in the West Division. They have scored 26 goals while allowing 29.

Los Angeles is 2-2-0 on the road this season. With Petersen starting on Tuesday, it will likely be Jonathan Quick between the pipes on Friday. Quick has a 3.54 GAA and a .885 save percentage. Anze Kopitar continues to lead the team in scoring with 12 points.

Because of postponements, it will have been 10 days since Vegas played their last game. That was a 5-4 shootout loss to St. Louis. The Golden Knights are now 5-1-1, allowing 17 goals while scoring 23.

Vegas is getting outstanding goaltending from the duo of Marc-Andre Fleury (1.00, .951) and Robin Lehner (2.95, .885), but it will be interesting to see how the pair responds after such an extended period off.

The one starting may be a little rusty early on in this game which gives Los Angeles a chance. Vegas is led by Mark Stone who has 11 points. Max Pacioretty leads the team with six goals.

NHL Pick – Vegas Golden Knights (-213)
Spread Pick – Vegas Golden Knights -1.5 (+117)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (-115)

San Jose Sharks @ Anaheim Ducks – 10:00 PM ET

San Jose has not been on the ice since January 28, meaning it will be eight days between games. They were shut out by Colorado in their last contest, 3-0. That was their third loss out of the last four games.

The Sharks are now 3-5-0, last in the West Division. They have scored 22 goals while allowing 31. Their -9 goal differential is the worst in the division. The Sharks have yet to play at home this season.

Goaltending has been a major concern for the Sharks the season as Martin Jones has a 3.91 GAA and a .871 save percentage in five starts. He has never been known for the low goals-against average, but with the team struggling to score goals they are unable to hide his performance. Tomas Hertl leads the team with seven points.

Anaheim snapped a three-game losing streak with a 3-1 victory over Los Angeles on Tuesday. John Gibson had a fairly easy night, stopping 20 of 21 shots and Nicolas Deslauriers scored a goal and added an assist. The Ducks are now 4-5-2, fifth in the division.

They have scored 19 goals while allowing 28 and are tied with San Jose with a -9 goal differential. Gibson lowered his goals-against average to 2.34 while improving his save percentage to .924. Anaheim has struggled to score goals this season, and that is seen in their team leader as they have four players tied at five points.

NHL Pick – San Jose Sharks (-105)
Spread Pick – San Jose Sharks +1.5 (-303)
Total Goals Pick – Over 5.5 (+115)
